QUOTE (SoxWS05 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:37 PM) I'm glad this issue was brought up because I F**ING HATE THE SOX SECURITY. Everybody is just trying to have a good time in the parking lot and up rides johnny rent a cop to mess with people. I'm over 21 but last season I got a ticket for drinking in public (that ticket went directly in the garbage can). I sometimes go to the game with my cousin who's under 21 but we let him drink and they wrote him a ticket last time. There's one douche in particular who been "patrolling" the lots for the last several years whom I always get into it with. I like to park in the G lot and apparently it's the only lot where your not allowed to tailgate (for some reason). Everyone tailgates anyway and said douchbag likes to patrol through there writing public intox tickets. The guards inside the game are cool, it's the a-holes in the parking lot who really grind my gears. I hope you guys realize that a lot of these "rent a cops" are actually off duty police officers. You know the sworn type that carry a real gun and a badge. Some are Chicago police officers, Cook County Sheriffs Police and maybe some State. These are not rent a cops. So ask yourself, what are they supposed to do when you are basically committing a crime in front of them. It might not be a cool crime, but remember they have to conver their asses. So lets put it another way. You Mr. Underage drinker, are obviously underage, and are having a good time drinking in the plain site of the rent a cop who really is a Chicago Police Sargent, now you do something stupid or get hurt or do something to get someone else hurt, how much you want to be that Mr. Rent a cop is going to A.) Get into trouble B.) Get sued\City get sued C:\ Make every news outlet top story. Sorry your underage drinking is not worth that police officer bringing home a check to his wife and kids.

A couple of them found it tonight. Ramirez with a nice double down the right field line.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) DJ: "The Sox' offense has really been clicking, it's cooled off as of late, but good pitching will do that to you." lol, I really wish I lived in Chicago so I could mute and listen to the radio. A guy gets destroyed against a team, comes in with a 9 ERA. Then 3 hits the sox over 6 innings. Hawk " Well I understand that "Insert Here" has a 9 ERA and gave up 7 homers in a row in his last start, but...pause.....I cant see how". "He might have the numbers, but this kid knows how to pitch. He just threw another pitchers pitch to Thome, you just tip your cap and come back fighting the next day. I count 9 arm angles, and that pitch I know the radar gun says 84, but with the difference between his fastball and his change our hitters think its 98"

I wonder what Walks next excuse is going to be for a bad hitting team. Last year it was cold, then the pucker factor. We are in first place and still the team cant hit. We can hit pull home runs, sure as s*** this team can do that. The only saving grace is the fact the the sox brought in a few people who can take a walk.

See Dan Ryan, pick out lane 3, try to lift and pull and hit cars on Dan Ryan. The official offense of your Chicago Whitesox.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) Ramirez is 3 for 22 this year, and Greg Walker says his timing has been bad. When you have an idiot like that in charge of your hitting, no wonder you underachieve. Maybe we can hear another interview from Gellinger who uses video not to break down a swing, but to help them have happy throughts on when they did well. Remember this home run Kong, go to your happy place, your happy place.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 09:42 AM) FWIW, Ozzie said in the Trib he's sticking with Uribe so long as the Sox are winning. Have to say I was annoyed with that comment. They are playing under 500 since last Monday. Is it going to take a 5 to 10 game losing streak for Ozzie to give up on Profundo. The guy never gets taken out of a game.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 11:19 PM) Except that this team is scoring at a rate of 5.42 runs per game. Pitching was the reason we lost this game. Vazquez was effectively wild early, but eventually the Yanks got to him. Not one of his better outings, that's for sure. We lead the league in home runs, that plus our walks is why the offense has scored runs. The team is still not hitting. Eventually people will just challenge our hitters because they will rather have them hit solo home runs instead of walking people. The tigers have started hitting and now are only 3 behind us. So much for their 0 and whatever start. Our crappy 500 ball over the last week mitigated that.

Well we have fell into the basement again in hitting in AL. 14th in the AL in hitting. How the f*** is this team hitting this bad for average. The saving grace has been the walks.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:57 PM) I usually don't agree with greg on much, but these past two games have been eerily similar to 90 of the games last year. The record last year at this point was 11-9 the same as we had.
