White Sox vs. Yankees, 6/5/07 (L)
southsideirish71 replied to SoxPride56's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:15 PM) How exactly did Dye git to third from first on a grounder to the shortstop? Alex Rodriguez thought he was a shortstop, and watched Jeter make the play, then forgot that the base was abandoned. Dye kept on running. -

Mack picks up the team there. How much effort to get one run against a crappy pitcher. They should be boming this guy back to AA. 87 mph straight fastballs. More please, someone deck this pitcher already. -

I officially hate Joe Mays, he showed the league a blueprint on how to beat a Greg Walker pull monkey offense. Low and Away, a passable change in the dirt, and let the magic happen. -

Hawk is a silly senile these days. He just said we are a patient team like the Yankees. When in the world have you put the word patient with any of our hitters. We put a lot of first pitch balls in play. We never have a high OBP, and we dont walk. -

Its amazing that anyone would strikeout against Clippard. He cant throw his curve for a strike, and his change isnt that good. So basically he is a one pitch pitcher, who cannot locate it. -

Cy Clippard has nothing tonight. He should be getting absolutely decked by our offense. Clippard is throwing meatballs the size of the bronx up there. Someone please for the love of god, hit the 87 mph meatball out of the park. -
I had a good one, but was asked to remove it during the purification period on soxtalk, when swearing, personal attacks and semi naked women were banned from sight. Which now looking at the ones people have, mine isn't too bad.

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) There was a cubs scout at the game against the yanks yesterday. i wonder who he was looking at? I would love to take Matt Murton off their hands. He would make a nice number 2 hitter in the future. -
If your children are young and you wish to stop some predators from contacting them, then this may be more up your alley. Mike Sullivan of the Naperville Police who is a spokesman for safe kids computing and anti online predators wrote a lot of the dictionary and did a demo of this a few years back at an FBI lead event. It looked promising, I have not tested it but it looks like what you are looking for. One recommendation that I will have is you can add custom keywords. Put your credit card numbers, phone numbers and your address in the keywords that block or alert. This is what predators use to help guide their victims to giving up their location. Also if these are teens, you dont want them using your credit cards anyways. Hopefully this works. If you have other monitoring requirements let me know. Cyber Sentinel and from the same company. rowand to the sox?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) You are completely delusional. I second this. The better pitching of the AL, and a healthy dose of low and away, with a side dish of sliders will put Mr. Demi God Rowand back into crap status. -
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) If that is true then that is a bunch of bulls***. Who said this? North? That other bafoon - what's his name - Murph's old partner.. Joe Cowley

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) what would you have called our old bullpen? The Kansas City Royals.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) remember all the talk about the new "nasty boys" this winter? We had the nasty part right. Yikes.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) Owens is clearly faster on a track, and im sure he has numbers out there. But Pie may be faster on the base paths. Doesnt matter. Owens should start in leadoff every day to see what we have.

Why fire Guillen? Williams? or Walker?
southsideirish71 replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) Yeah, that's his job title. What is his job description. And a better analogy would be Walker is your McDonalds Supervisor and under his watch you and 6 other employees have been taking regular afternoon s***s in the deep fryer. There is no real way for the restaurant to get rid of the lot of you due to cooperate and FDA regulations, so they're stuck with your miserable ass no matter terrible your fries are. In the past when fry cooks had acted up firing the Supervisor would give the whole group a little jolt and brought about some overall acceptable production in the french fry department. Really Walker isn't doing much as your Supervisor just kind of standing around watching his professional fry makers struggle to make a quality french fry so firing him would be no big loss in the grand scheme of things but canning his ass now could get the fry makers going and the McDonald's could once again start performing at the level excellence which is expected of it. -
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) Someone just said Ozzie Jr. just mentioned Gio Gonzalez coming up...possibly. Anyone listening to his show right now and can speak or atleast understand spanish... Gaelic yes, Spanish no. Gio as a reliever?

QUOTE(striker62704 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) He's the batting coach. Whats your first grade teachers job? To teach addition and subtraction. But if you give the wrong change as a McDonald's cashier does everyone start posting on your elementary school's website to fire your first grade teacher? No. The McDonalds cashier thing is just an analogy. He is a major league hitting instructor, he was not Jermaine Dyes minor league instructor so I dont see the analogy. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Really? The worst? Plus, if this is the case and they only pitch our hitters low and away then how do our hitters ever get jammed. I mean our hitters are so pull happy with their lift and pull techniques that Walker supposedly preaches to them that I am amazed our hitters ever get jammed by the inside pitch. Yet, they do. Very strange. A long and looping swing can jam. Bat drag through the zone can jam even if you cheat on the pitch a bit. This is why they miss straight as an arrow fastballs over the middle of the plate. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 12:26 PM) No, I loved it. Tickets weren't that bad....you have to remember the whole currency issue. I was there for the rain delay game a few years back. Everyone should experience a game from the hotel room. I agree, we were there a few years back for work. I caught a game, it was awsome. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 12:24 PM) Even though our 3-4-5 blows, I figured I needed to point out that Gooch has been f***in solid as hell the last couple of games Well Owens is doing in this series what Pods did in the first half of 05. Gooch is doing in this series what he did in the first half of 05. The rest of the team is taking a collective dump on the field. -

So we finally get a tablesetter, and the mopes behind them cant take their bats off their shoulders. 2nd time we have had a man at 3rd with less than 2 outs and the 2nd time 2 of our patented fearsome 3 K. f***ing bulls***. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) Where did I say this? Helping is teaching? Looking at tape is teaching? Wouldn't that be more along the lines of organizing? Is Konerko being taught to lift and pull everything by a major league coach? Is that what you are saying? Because if you are - then that is rich. Greg Walker himself said on an interview that a team that looks to pull and hit home runs would be categorized by a team that scores a lot of their runs on homers, has a low batting average, low OBP and a lot of strikeouts with few hits. -

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) Really? You think they are teaching veteran players like Konerko, Dye, Thome, and Erstad? You honestly believe this? What are the coaches teaching these players? Please tell me this. PLEASE! So if Konerko say opens up his stance one day, on his own and he starts to pull everything to the third baseman and strikeout on the low and away pitch. Walk shouldnt say a thing to him, because he is a vet. Thats rich. Its not like we have a bunch of rookies on the team. If he cant help with mechanical issues with hitters then why is he paid.
