  1. Watching the low and away changeup and how Gooch swings at it, I wonder what the f*** we are doing to help him out. Those were pathetic flails at it.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) Good news is his stuff appears decent. Unfortunately, his location just isn't there yet His velocity is better than this time last year. But when you throw less than 90 your location is the difference between the majors and the minors. Ask Mr. Prior how his sub 90s velocity and crappy control is helping him out in Des Moines.
  3. My only hope for Buerhle is that he doesnt stink so bad that people dont want to trade for him. That would be the worst case scenario.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) Ugh, I forgot just how bad Pablo is in LF. Another season of s*** outfield defense should be fun. but on the bright side, it shouldnt be any different than having Prancer play on the track and kick the ball.
  5. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) joe crede fails to get a base hit. walks. he sucks Lets see if Mark Zito and his high socks are going to pitch better today. booo: he left the zito high socks at home The comcast gun perplexes me, as it has to be the most inaccurate gun out there. They must of bought it at the flea market. Its fast/its slow. You can be watching the same broadcast for the opposition and the gun ratings are different.
  6. Jermaine Dye hits a high and away pitch to right center field. Going gap to gap. He left the ball get back in the zone and hit it with authority. This is how you hit this type of pitching. You hit it hard to right center, then the catcher has to come in to get you off the plate. Then you bomb him into the 5th dimension.
  7. And it seems that we have a soft tossing lefty, and their catcher has setup a folding chair on the outside corner and will just pound low and away all game.
  8. So I know we K a lot with a power lineup, but what the f*** is going on. Everyones bat is missing the ball. Grindstad grounds out weakly to the 2nd baseman 2 out, no body on base. This will be how our first innings go most of the year. Paulie singles back up the middle on a low and away pitch. Nice job.
  9. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) We'll be there. Where's JimH's invitation? /thread
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) I invited the following people with their date: Jphat and Scott Podsednik SSI and Greg Walker Flash and Liriano Santo/Dorf and Zambrano Rangercal and Frank Thomas Jimbo and Julian Wright Technology my friend. 40 dollars total for the seven days to have wireless internet in the room. Mrs. Fathom will be hanging out on the beach, and I'll be b****ing about Ozzie. I am pretty safe then, If I stay low and away Walker wont touch me.
  11. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) 11 strikeouts for Barons pitching. Must be that line drive swing that they keep talking about.
  12. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) Brian Anderson with a statement shot! Trust me the statement means nothing. Ozzie wants to put his speedy no hit guys up ontop just to have visions of what once was in Florida.
  13. This is comical. 3 freakin hits and now 9 strikeouts through 7.
  14. I am waiting for someone to jump into the thread to remind us that this is not embarassing, that they belive that the Barons will win the AA crown. And that the heat, some wind, maybe a dog fart is responsible for our poor outiing. That this is only ST and that we will flip the switch come first pitch against CC. I bet you CC is feeling stronger and stronger after he sees that Wes Freakin Whislter and stuff dominated our lineup.
  15. 3 hits through 6 for the sox. 7ks for the mighty barons of AA.
  16. QUOTE(minorsfan @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 07:26 PM) Oh joy, add another error to Erstad's tally (fielding!!!!) He was grinding the error all the way so its okay.
  17. So Wes Whistler and other associatated poop is 3 hitting our A team through 5 with 6 strikeouts. Yeah our hitting is going to torch CC and Jake Westbrook. Why in the name of God is Kong in the 3 hole. Dye hit in the 3 hole during the WS run, but we want to put one of the slowest guys in at 3. Kong will have a lot of solo homers with prancer and erstad up on top.
  18. QUOTE(wcw2323 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) That doesn't make any sense. What difference does it make if he throws 96 or 68...as long as he wins? I'll guarantee you that he will have a longer career than any flame thrower. Charlie eats up innings, and has the best record in the minors the last two years. You are under valuing based on your perception. The reality is that he was 14-6 with an ERA around 3.00 last year, started the AAA All-Star game, and has nothing more to prove in AAA. He has a high ceiling since he's only 23. Charlie Hough said he's the best knuckler since Wakefield. The only difference is that he's much younger than when Wake broke into the bigs. Charlie deserves the chance to be a part of a major club based on his performance the past two years...period. If the Sox aren't high on him, then move him to a club that appreciates what he has to offer. The response of "because people don't know how to evaluate a knuckler" is crazy. How about evaluating won-loss records for the last two years (28-11) Who knows if he will be a great major leaguer, he could be great he could be nothing. But why for the love of god would the sox get rid of him for spare parts. Remember the great Felix Diaz and how he dominated AAA and won 17 games I think there one year, and then got dismembered on the mound by the indians. I like Charlie, and him not being on the team is not going to keep me from sleeping at night. He will get his chance, so unless you are a member of his family you should only care for what helps the whitesox the most.
  19. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) I get the feeling he and Boone are going to be packaged for a nice deal somewhere. I think they added Aardesma and Sisco to the roster with the intention of making a move before the start of the season and not optioning them due to this. A back-up catcher and good young arm in return. The Rockies are not exactly known for developing young pitching. Sisco needs to prove he can throw said fireballer over said plate more than once. I wouldnt ditch Logan yet or Heager. As Flash has already said, we need protection in the 5th hole plus for any injuries. I like floyds stuff a lot more than a lot of people on this site, however to me he needs to be completely taken apart and rebuilt from scratch from a confidence standpoint. He is too shaky, and needs to throw strikes. Once he can get that ball over the plate more, he will be fine. But I think that may take a year.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) Absolutely You are probably right. But not a good thing to give up any young pitching at this moment. We are going to lose Buerhle this year, and then probably Garland after next year. I would rather have some healthy competition for those spots as opposed to giving it to whatever is left from any purging that we have. Its upsetting to Charlie to have him linger for a bit in AAA, however we need his flexibility.
  21. 12 strikeouts for sox hitting today. 50% of our outs in this game are via the K, this by pitchers not exactly known for making bats swing and miss.
  22. Garland so far 7 innings, 9 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned 3 ks zero walks and 1 dong
  23. 8 strikeouts against the whitesox today. Man if we could only harness the power of that Rocky vaunted pitching. I mean they just miss bats.
