  1. Dunno if this was posted anywhere else but.. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/12/nigh...m-mariners.html
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Yeah, I'm a nerd, so what! Jacked one with Dunn on my lunch break. Enjoyed the douche walk after he hit the ball.
  3. Ozzie's gonna be on hot stove in a couple mins
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) Like that guy in Office Space with the stapler. He'll burn the clubhouse down if they don't play him...
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) Of course he will. His ideal lineup with our current roster would be something like... 1) Pierre 2) Lillebridge 3) Teahen 4) Vizquel 5) Teahen 6) Teahen 7) Teahen 8) Vizquel 9) Pierre Bench 1) Konerko 2) Dunn You forgot Kotsay. It doesn't matter if he's not signed, he'll just show up, every day.
  6. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) Braunecker says they have visited with "significantly more clubs" than just the Yankees and Rangers, tweets MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. Braunecker is in the process of setting up meetings. Would love to see KW go all in with PK and CLee and then trade Floyd or another sp for young prospects. Sign putz and Balfour or gurrier for the bp and be a star on the offseason. Pipe dream I know while I'm dreaming go get ichrio for right while trading CQ. Lol that's all KW Did a Steinbrenner buy the team?
  7. QUOTE (Wanne @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) wtf...is MLB Network on endless loop right now. I've seen/heard the same crap for the last hour and a half. They're going live at 2.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:52 PM) Mark Reynolds for Melvin Mora is not how you convince a veteran to come to your city. They signed Blum too...
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) If Sox were able to get Adrian, do you still think we would have an offer for Paulie? I doubt it. It woulda been AGonz with an extension playing 1B and Dayan/Quentin playing DH.
  10. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 11:30 AM) That is quite unlikely, but could you imagine? Quentin would have to go away. Plus, how much does Ichiro get paid? $34 mil/2. That'd be friggin' crazy to add him, hehe.
  11. Yeah I'm gonna agree with Joe. I can't imagine us not trading him if Konerko winds up coming back. Whether it's for an outfielder or some bullpen help, Viciedo would be best suited helping us fill in the gaps in other areas.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 08:31 AM) If Paulie says no, how about going after Beltre to play 3B and making Viciedo the firstbaseman. Its a longshot all things considered, but may be even a better answer than Paulie if Viciedo is legit. I like Beltre, I like his glove. I don't like what he's going to get paid though. He's had two GREAT seasons at the dish and they were both contract years. He's got a solid stick the rest of the time but at $12-15 million, just kinda insane imo. He's had two years where his ops was over .900
  13. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) He's 29, will be getting expensive in the next few years. Is Phil Rogers on Soxtalk? He's still eligible for arbitration for two years AFTER 2011. It's not like he's out the door next season because he's gonna be getting a Tulo type deal.
  14. Red Sox are reportedly "close to acquiring" AGonz. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/12/red-...alez-trade.html
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 11:01 PM) How did trading Linebrink free up $4 million....? Wouldn't it be just $2 million saved that could be reallocated theoretically? Or did I miss something? I think he's using the $1.5 million number and not the actual $3.5 mil.
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) I thought about that, but Linebrink was a salary dump, Marte was not. I'm still amazed that Marte even has a gig still. He's made $7.75 million the next two years and pitched 31 innings, TOTAL.
  17. I think aside from Kenny making a trade to bring back Aaron Rowand (with San Fran picking up his salary of course), these moves so far couldn't be better.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 02:28 PM) Not to pile on Linebrink, but he was godawful. Bye bye. Hope you are successful in the NL with the Braves. Can't think of a Sox pitcher who was as bad as Linebrink. Well, yes I can, but he was awful. Todd Ritchie says hi.
  19. Cartoon Adam Dunn looks like Jimmy Durante. Hopefully he'll make someone happy.
  20. QUOTE (pktmotion @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 11:42 PM) I could definitely see a Quentin and Viciedo/Flowers for Homer Bailey You don't think that'd be a bit too much for Bailey?
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) LaRoche is a bit too inconsistent for my liking over the course of an entire season (I'd take him at the deadline though). Plus, his defense kind of sucks. I didn't know that. Just knew he was lefty and had a solid stick. Cross him off then. One terrible defensive one bagger is enough.
  22. Is there anything new on the LaRoche front? What about him instead of D-Lee?
  23. I'd rather have Paulie but if signing Lee for less allows us to get help in other areas (bullpen), it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
  24. WOW, Christmas came early. Welcome back AJ!
