The same dime-store hooker that would screw the entire Mets organization if she had to?

QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) Well now that Chip is gone from Cubs announcing.....who is the worst???? Chip............on Braves announcing.

Tell the girl in your avatar that she's a tease.

I said this in a different thread, but the old bounty for Osama's head was less than the Yankees' luxury tax.

That's pure speculation. You wouldn't hear choke unless they had a comfy lead and blew it due to a meltdown not yet seen this year from UofI. You'd probably only hear overrated from some liquored up UW students.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) So out of curiousity, are you willing to put your self where your mouth is? Are you willing to stand up to a Soxtalk test of democracy? My vote? He gone!

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) the talk radio-talking heads effect of extreme exaggeration has led to nearly every loss being determined a choke. It's like hearing someone got "beaned in the foot". It's out of control What do you call performing terribly in the last stretches of a game?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) Cheat junior? Thank you for the compliment. Either way they played a hell of a game. If the illini lost this game would you consider it a choke job? Well that depends. If they were to let Wisconsin go on a double-digit unanswered scoring spree in the last minutes of the game and miss more than half of their free throws, coughUWcough, then I'd consider labeling it as such.
-
Cheat Jr, they let UofI go on something like a 10-0 run in the last two minutes. They choked hard. Also, 5-12 (I think) from the line? Pitiful.

It seemed to me the refs were trying to give UW the game to start.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) You shot a gumball out of your ass at your best friend at a bowling alley? Thats just sick. Way to ruin a good thing.

One that I remember is when I fell out of my kitchen window. I'm sure there are more, just give me some time to think...

I had no idea that a liger actually exists.

Well with any luck I'll be there to see them play the Angels on the 15th and/or the Cubs on the 18th. How long do you guys think tickets will be available for?
-
What are the perks of being at a Spring Training game versus a regular season game? Are the players more accessible for autographs and such?

Patriots by 17.

No, because we were already forewarned about having high expectations and had a couple kool-aid referrences. Did we really need it again?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) Exactly. That scares me ALOT. Especially since no one seems to talk about we were the only team to be in the running for this guy. That makes me question something... I believe we were the only ones in the running because of Moss' high initial demand for Iguchi. Twenty million dollars is a very scary number. Even for the Yankees. The other teams probably didn't want to waste time negotiating, not knowing whether they could bargain for Iguchi while there were some acceptable free agents still available for the taking. I'm sure if the Yankees, Cardinals, and Red Sox knew that Iguchi could actually be had for less than he was making in Japan, their interest level would've risen considerably. Remember, KW got him at only 33% of what he originally wanted. That's why I think these statements saying the Yankees taking Womack at 2 million or Red Sox taking Bellhorn at 3 million tells us all we need to know about Iguchi are just bogus.

QUOTE(gotoh00 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) .280/20HR/70RBIs/30SB at best. The adjustment may take a while but Iguchi will be a star before long His old ball park had 50 feet high outfield walls and he still managed to hit a lot of dingers. Just hope he bats 6th or 7th rather than in the top two holes, just so he can use his power to drive in runs more. Do you know what the fence dimensions were to left, right, and center?

Where are your predictions cheat? p.s. hilarious avatar.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Well of course, you're comparing 3 guys covering 2 positions to one guy at second. I think Iguchi at second AND Uribe at short will produce more than the platoon you listed above. Well what it comes down to is this: Is Iguchi @ 2B + Uribe @ SS better than Harris @ 2B + Uribe @ SS vs. righties and Uribe @ 2B + Valdez @ SS vs. lefties? I'd have to say definitely, taking into consideration what just one injury would do to the latter tandem.

QUOTE(gotoh00 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Thanks guys. I moved to Japan from Chicago about 10 years ago so I watch a lot of baseball over there. There's also a rumor the White Sox will sign third baseman Nakamura who had some trouble with the mets 2 years ago. His swing is a hella of a lot wilder than Iguchi's but we'll just have to see. Do you have any links to video clips of Iguchi playing?
