  1. I'm in the 10% too. Lee for Pod and Ginter is a good deal if we use the new money to sign a pitcher.
  2. Look at all the users reading this! People are watching this story almost as hard as Carlos watches potential home runs leave the yard!
  3. Maybe Perez then?

  7. If Ginter could play SS or 2B, I would definitely make this trade. Why didn't Ginter play more games than he did last year? He had just under 400 at-bats. If you extrapolate his numbers based on the amount of at-bats Carlos had last year, Ginter would've had 29 HR's, 90 RBI's, and 35 2B's. Carlos had 31 HR's, 99 RBI's, and 37 2B's. Carlos also played in US Cellular Field. Ginter didn't. He strikes out much, much more than Carlos and doesn't hit for as good an average. But he still had a decent .333 OBP. If he could play SS or 2B while Podsednik took LF or CF, I think we would come out ahead here. We would complete our infield, finally have a lead-off man, and also save enough money to sign a FA starting pitcher.
  8. It would free up about $6 million in payroll. And for those of you saying Lee for Sheets, come on. Lee alone isn't worth Sheets.
  9. The thing that renewed my interest in trading for Randy was the article posted on whitesox.com. I didn't think they'd post something like that on the official site if it were a complete lost cause.
  10. What gave this impression?

I heard this was Anderson's worst work to date.
  13. Here's what we have to ask ourselves: Are we willing to give our best shot at a WS now and set ourselves up for potential mediocrity in the future? Can a White Sox team without Carlos, Garland, and possibly Frank make it to the playoffs in 2005 with RJ, Grilli/Diaz, Dye, and Everett? If the answer to both of these is YES, then we have to trade Carlos, Garland, and a quality prospect for Randy. It's not going to cost less than that people. If we do make it to the playoffs with a healthy Randy Johnson, Buehrle, and Garcia, we are giving ourselves a good shot at a title.
  14. Lee couldn't hold Vlad's jock.
  15. Why were you talking down this trade a few days ago? Just emotions flying after the dissapointment of hearing he wasn't coming to Chicago?
  16. I just think it's funny how if a Randy trade went down, some people here would call KW the worst GM in all of baseball while I would consider him one of the best. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum.

Does Beane making this trade have anything to do with DePotesta?
  18. I think the Diamondbacks are realizing that our package was clearly the best.

Sometimes when I'm bored I watch old Sox games on MLB.TV with moments like that, and I get goosebumps and teary-eyed. But I am admittedly pathetic.
