Palm Pre
If your main desire is a QWERTY keyboard, don't get a Pre. There are plenty of non-3G smartphones with a keyboard. For the Pre you will be required to upgrade your plan for data which is typically an extra $30/month. As mentioned above, Pre's apps are weak. Should you want a 3G smartphone, I think DROID is Verizon's best

Not all hitters swing on the plane as the pitch. A slight upswing at the same angle which the pitch is oppositely going down gives you a better chance at contact, which Ted Williams advocated so strongly in his book 'The Science of Hitting' (recommended btw). On outside pitches, Beckham has shown ability to take a slightly downward swing until point of contact then quickly roll his right wrist over, creating tremendous backspin on the ball. This video is a great example, clear to see around the 36 second mark. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/vide...tent_id=6466723 The backspin is what causes the ball to carry and fool Ellsbury. Stone comments about the ball "slicing away" and "just taking off". The opposite effect occurs when you swing at an angle steeper than that which the ball is coming down at and put topspin on the ball, or a humpback line drive as Hawk would call it

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) BTW one of the worst episodes of the entire series. Go ahead and flame me and commence with your circle jerk. You're right on. That was horrible. I can't wait for this show to end

I pointed out the similarities between ARod's and Beckham's swings' awhile ago without knowledge of this article. But they miss the main point which is that both hitters put backspin on the ball. ARod is the best I have seen at this and Beckham is the only White Sox I can remember to do this. Gordon is especially good at putting backspin on pitches away, which allows the ball to carry more and gives him the opposite field gap power we've seen. A hitter who implements a swing with a slightly downward plane requires better timing because the pitch is always coming in on a downward plane as well

Adrian Gonzalez
We've done a lot for the Danks family and John's development especially. If he didn't work with our staff he might not have developed the cutter which has enabled him a lot of success and future value in the MLB. The type of value and earning potential a cutthroat agent cannot add. Jordan was given a very generous signing bonus as well. I wouldn't let these kind of emotions get in the way of an Adrian Gonzalez deal

Adrian Gonzalez
Yeah, not too many would consider Jordan Danks a hold-up in dealing for Adrian Gonzalez

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 01:10 PM) And like I have said before, I don't know if that guy actually has feelings for her. So she's allowed to crush on someone else while you're together as long as that person doesn't reciprocate any feelings? That is bogus
