QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) So I took the iPad on a trip to Reno this past week. Previous to leaving, I loaded it up with movies and books to read. At the airport, I was able to use the free Wifi and connect to the internet and navigate webpages very easily. The processor was fast and the signal was strong. On the plane, I watched the animated film "9" and was incredibly impressed by the picture quality. When I busted out the iPad and started the movie, the lady sitting next to me let out an "oooh, that picture is beautiful" and actually seemed to be watching most of the movie with me. As it was a short flight, I didn't finish the movie on the plane, but finished it that night in the hotel (although I had also rented Zombieland and found that iTunes' 24 hour rental period to sort of stink - I started the movie on the plane ride home but didn't get a chance to finish it before the rental period expired - so that was a waste of $3.99). At the hotel, I was able to read some of the books I had downloaded in bed with no real complaints about the supposed "eye strain" or whatever. The books are easy, actually even sort of fun to navigate through as you can scroll through one page at a time, or by the table of contents, however you would like. I hope Apple works out contracts with some other publishers so the selection on iBooks becomes larger. Not having the 3G connection was a bit of a disadvantage as I couldn't connect to the internet without paying for the hotel's Wifi signal, but that was ok, because I was able to check email and that sort of thing via my iPhone and it's 3G signal (one of the primary reasons I didn't spring for the 3G version of the iPad). I was gone for 4 days and did not charge the iPad once. When I got home, I still had 83% battery remaining, so the battery is definitely top notch. All in all, it's a very solid device. As many have said, including myself, it's not going to replace your laptop if you are a serious business traveler, and it's definitely a bit of a toy - certainly not a necessity for anyone - but it works extremely well for what it is designed to do and I had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever. Just wanted to give you guys sort of a review of my first trip with it. I'm amazed by the battery life. That's awesome. I think the movie rental price of $4 is too much

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 11:33 AM) He did hit a single to tie the game up in the middle of the game though... I don't know if he really could have done anything more until that point. He also hit a 400-ft shot to the only part of the park it wouldn't be a home run. He was on last night- Technology catch-all thread
I got a Dell in '02 and it's just starting to show its age now, 8 years later. But I'm also really smart about protecting my PC online- Breakfast Cereals
Is cereal really that sugary to you guys? It's just a fraction of the sugar in a soda- Cracked Article on White Sox

New Top Chef Masters? Nice- I confess to you . . .
I haven't felt like this since I found out Santa wasn't real- Final Four
Also Duke was 1 foul away from putting Butler in the double-double so if Zoubek just makes the free throw they can foul Butler and not even allow them a 3-pt chance- Final Four
No one for Butler stepped up enough offensively. Take out Avery Jukes and Butler shot 30%. Veasley missed all 5 of his 3-pointers which if I recall weren't that closely contested- Final Four
Let's get a turnover Butler- Final Four
Howard finally stepped it up for you fathom- Final Four
Did Jukes even touch Scheyer there? That should've been on Hahn- Final Four
Keep attacking that big oaf- Final Four
If Butler is going to play man they need to stop leaving their guy around the 3-point line to try and double-team. Duke is too smart for that and Butler's lucky they've missed a few open 3s- Final Four
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 08:37 PM) If your guys can slip screens well, because they use lots of up screens to open up shooters. You're right, they're quite good at setting screens. And Zoubek seems to be able to away with setting a lot of moving picks- Final Four
Jesus Howard is sucking tonight- Final Four
Zoubek does pose a problem for Butler, but if they're gonna beat me, that's the guy I'm gonna make do it. Not by letting outside shots from the rest of the guys like Baylor let them do- Final Four
Man-D is the best way to defend Duke, what do you guys think- Final Four
I didn't realize Hayward was that tall- I confess to you . . .
Then my confession is it's taken me far too long to tell Knight he has bad taste - Teahen was something special last night
