  1. Does 'the monster factor' help either starter more than the other? A lot HRs don't go out at Fenway.
  2. I'm gonna drag a tv over at 2:30 for the pre game, I'll find out what the deal is with the weather.
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Millah has been benched for Olderdude™. This bothers me, Olderdude was tattooing the ball agaisnt Buehrle. Helmet boy= still clutch.
  4. Holy s***, Dino returns! Dinosaur Jr. will be playing TWO shows at Metro in late November. Tix go on sale tomorrow morning. I think someone else here is also a huge fan.
  5. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) My dad scored two for game 2. He called at 11:55, and just sat on the phone. At 12, somone answered. I wonder if you called at like 11:40 and kept them on the line asking for ticket information about about other events and then at noon switched over and asked for Sox tix if that would work.
  6. I know it sux for us, but from a purely business perspective, Ticketmaster is a beautiful thing. It's a ticket monopoly and it's covered it's ass against legal action. Pearl Jam and a few others have to tried to dethrone the beast and have failed to do anything but draw attention.
  7. Apparently, they are expecting very heavy rain in Boston all day tomorrow. If game 4 is necessary and gets washed out tomorrow, everything gets pushed back 1 day. If game 5 ends up being necessary, it would be played on Monday and Wells, because of the extra day's rest, would pitch that game 5, not Clement. We need to get this over with ASAP. I don't want to face Wells in a game 5. He took a tough, tough loss in game 2. He'll be amped for a game 5.
  8. By far, my least favorite ex Sox player. Took a year off when came here. He only wanted to play in NY or Boston and when that didn't happen, he 'chilled' in Chicago. Called Frank out in the press. Was a total jerk at the bars, constantly dissing Chicago and getting hammered and into fights.
  9. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) The good thing about tomorrow is that with Wakefield pitching tomorrow that means no Jason Varitek, that is a huge part of their lineup, I am really suprised they didn't switch to Schilling for game 3 Trust me, Wakefield will be on a short leash and Schilling might be the 1st guy otta the pen.
  10. You might want to check out Craig's list. Some of the asking prices are not as outrageous. By the way, most sellers will not split a pair of tickets. If anyone here is thinking about going through a broker and needs another buyer, PM me, http://chicago.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/sear...=min&maxAsk=max
  11. I've been cautiously optimistic so far and we've won two games, so I'll make the same predicition and hope for the same result. The Red Sox will come at us with steam coming otta their heads. It's do or die for them and there is no doubt in their mind that they will force a game 5. Freddy will have to match their intensity and keep it close through 6 innings. I see late scoring and it coming down to the bullpens.
  12. You gotta go with the hot hands and it's too soon to tell. Let's see what Freddy and Jon bring to the table. Personally, IF we have a decent lead on Friday, I let Garland finish the game and go back to Contreras for game 1.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) Darn it Los...stop being so smart... So you get tix to any of the games? You did seem awfully worried about it earlier this morning. I have no tickets. I hope I'll come across an extra somewhere. Otherwise, I'll have to go through a broker. I spent zero money on tix during the season, so I can splurge a little bit now.
  14. QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) well i woulda said the same thing but... if you're a season ticket holder you're die hard... and if you're die hard why the f*** arent you going to the WS? How do yo think brokers get tix? They buy season tix and sell all of them.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) After review of that website...I am very confused and feel like if I were to make a purchase I would be sitting in the top corner behind two 7'4 Asian gentlemen. it hurt my brain too.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) Those are auctions...they will end up going for way more...Looks like I'm dropping $300 plus a ticket for game 1 or 2... I did score 4 for game six...upper deck though 542, row 8...I'll probably sell them and put it towards my upgrades I'm still shocked by how well you did Steff... Yep, you will see that low price and only like 2 bids until about 1 day before the game, then suddenly the price will quadrupule and there will be like 40 bids.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Uhhh....I'm not seeeing anything even remotely that cheap... Nope and the few that are listed that cheap are listing the opening bid prices. In other words, they will end up at 4 X that price.
  18. At this point, should I assume that I'm wasting my time by continuing to stare at the screen that has read 'searching' on it for the past 62 mins.?
  19. Get this, my buddy just told me that on CLTV they did a 5 minute piece on the Sox. They had a camera crew at the park with everyone in line and even did a few interviews. After the segment ends, they cut back to the anchor who says: 'Sox fans should know that tickets will only be sold via internet and over the phone".
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Here's what it says in the 2nd paragraph of the ALCS tix announcement: Yeah, I read that, but I get the feeling the box office will be selling. From what they said on the news, the line started forming last night after the game and was still there this morning. You'd think at some point someone from the park would have told those people there would be no box office sales.....unless there will be.
  21. Gammons and Reynolds looked shocked and straight up pissed last night. I love it.
  22. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) One of the IT guys I work with was just asking me about that. According to everything I have seen, they are only available online or via phone. I'm gonna be pissed if this is a blunder. I would have gladly lined up, but every e-mail says no box office sales. That line on TV this morning was pretty long. For those of you who were at the game yestreday, did they make an announcement at the park last night or something?
  23. I'm confused. This morning they showed people lined up at the box office for tix. I thought I read there would no sales from the box office and it was only phones and internet. What's the deal?
