What was up with todays crowd?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Whitewashed in '05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
All the lame asses err, people around me seemed to really know baseball and the Sox. So I can't say it was a bunch of corporate stiffs. They were just....well...lame. -
UD corner for $125.00. http://www.goldcoasttickets.com/LiveTicket...?EventID=405861

WOW, I saw some decent deals, but nothing at, or below face.

Sorry to sound like a sore loser, but I will not tip my cap to Byrd. His pitching was above average and totally beatable. When you beat yoursleves at the plate, on the bases and in the field, you will lose to the Paul Byrds every time.

Lack of execution was the biggest factor, but Ozzie was outfoxed by Soscia a couple of times. The pitch out when Pods was running is just one example. This is a factor that no one is really talking about. If there is one guy who is more on his toes than Ozzie it's Soscia. I look for every game to be low scoring and close, determined by which manager blinks 1st.

This thread only for optimists
LosMediasBlancas replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here's my spin: You won't see the Sox look much worse than yesterday, we looked like s*** on offense, defense and on the bases and we STILL almost tied and won that game. I want to see the Angels as a whole, but especially their rotation, hold up in a long series. -
Saw that and it got me geeked.

What was up with todays crowd?
LosMediasBlancas replied to Whitewashed in '05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was at both Game 1 against the Bo-Sox and at last night's game. Last night's crowd was a lot more quiet. I think it had to do with being down early of course, maybe the cold and it being Sox fans at the Cell. It doesn't take much to silence that crowd. Instead of getting louder and louder in the 9th, to try to pump up the team, it got more and more quiet. You could hear the pop of the mitt when Crede struck out. -

Los Angeles @ Chicago - ALCS Game 1
LosMediasBlancas replied to Heads22's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I thought the forecast this morning said 63 and partly sunny. I'm dowtown and it ain't sunny at all or 60 nothin' down here. Anyone near the Cell? -
I feel ya Mags. Regardless of when this season ends, I'm going to take in the moment tonight. For all those Sox fans throughout the years who were never able to experience it for themselves, I will scream and cheer my lungs out.

QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Damnit, I guess these are useless then. Thanks for ruining my side business, Steff! If you sell them at 'face' it's all profit.

National Anthem and Starting Introduction

QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Nice little obscure reference there, LMB. I can appreciate it, I've seen his band several times back in "the day". Glad it wasn't toally lost TC. Someone said they saw him at a show in LA recently. Apparently, he's still a trainwreck, he's been in my head ever since. -
QUOTE(valponick @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) I've been trying to score tix all day and can't find anything less than $200/ea Try a broker that is based in NYC. They were holding a ton of tix, but now that the Yankees are done, they are unloading them. This morning they ahd come down in price to like $160.00 for UD.

National Anthem and Starting Introduction
LosMediasBlancas replied to SouthSidePride05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Let's see if we can everyone into their seats before the intors. My sources confirm that David Yow will sing the anthem tonight. I'll be there belting it out. -
YEP, prices are tumbling. I'd be careful at the park though, might be some counterfeits going around.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) To be honest, there can't be much that needs to be said right now. We are 4 wins from the World Series. I would think the hard part would be calming them down, not hyping them up. Ok, let me rephrase it for those that are pretending to not know what I'm asking. What does Ozzie say to his team? I played sports, not on the pro level, but coaches DO talk to their players before games and try to motivate them.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) If we win, we go to the World f***ing Series. WTF? They need to be pumped up? Thx buzzkill.
-
What do you say to your team to pump them up for this series? Let me hear your speech.

Update #17, if any of you guys are still thinking of going through a broker, find one that is based in NYC. Since the Bankees s*** the bed last night, local brokers there are unloading tix like fish off a truck. I had tix for tonight that I got through a broker, decent UD seats at a good price. I get a message last night from them saying my tix are 'not available'. Needless to say, I was furious. I call them back this morning and we got upgraded to some pretty sweet LD seats for the same price. Everything White Sox related is going too well lately.
