Pitch around Big Papi.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) I'm really dissapointed with the shirts. I thought they would be a lot better. I will probably buy a hat. Yeah, hopefully the stuff that comes in next week will be a lot nice. The caps and tees look like they were thrown together in a rush.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Drinking is for starters, all the rest of you put down the drinks When teams no longer play to win, the integrity of the league suffers. Y'all can have your opinions, but when teams don't play to win, the game becomes a scripted joke, like wrestling. Hey, I like the Indians better than the Red Sox, so I'm going to take the bottom 9 guys and start them. Jordan + "flu symptoms" = 60+ two or three times. I'm all for resting starters, just not all on the same night. I'm not saying go balls out, but have some balls. If it doesn't matter how we play, why not just forfeit? f*** Boston and NY, they control their own destiny. You missed the point, read the reply right above yours. Who would you rather have playing with a mind numbing hangover, Paulie or Geoff frickin Blum?
-
I think Cybil would be most fitting.
-
Let me get this straight, Ozzie is supposed to start players who probably have mean hangovers and risk an injury to one of them? Ever try to play a sport with a hangover? I hope this line up uses this as motivation and crushes the Tribe tonight.
-
Great. Now how am I supposed to blend in while I get baked at the back of a club just before the band goes on??
-
OMG, Ozzie has found a situation in which to play Ross Gload.

Red Sox is my vote. Good pitching beats good hitting. I think when our starting pitching is on, it can keep most offenses under control, that is, keep the score low enough to give us a chance to win. Our offense on the other hand, struggles. So I guess, we'd want to face the weakest starting pitching staff. In my opinion, that is the Red Sox. The Yankees are heating up at the right time and I want no part of Anaheim.

If you want autographs, expect to spend most of you day in lines.

Update: Went to Grandstand and the Cell today. FYI, Grandstand is pretty much cleaned out of championship gear. They had a few black roster T-shirts which are ugly as hell and a few of those adjustable white caps, also ugly as hell. They don't sound real sure about when they will get more stuff in. They were taking orders and people's phone numbers. The gift shop at the Cell will have Championship gear in on Monday. It should be tagged and on the shelves by 1:00 pm. This according to a woman who works in the shop.

QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) the look on garland's face afte rthe strikeout was what made it so special. Puts his head down, walks back, crowd erupts. What an awesome moment that was. As for me, i have an awful memory for these things, so the only one that wasn't already said was the 6/19 game against the dodgers on my birthday. I was in the bleachers and i believe we were down 3-1 or something in the 8th, arow comes through with a clutch bloop single, we pull it out. What I remember about the Tejada strikeout, was that after he swung and missed, Tejada looked back at AJ with a shocked looked on his face. When I saw the replay, I realized that AJ said something to Tejada after the K. I bet it was a s*** talking classic, by AJ.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) The question is, how much of that would have been true if the Hurricanes had been reversed... EXACTLY. Easy to say what coulda and mighta been, but we'll never know.

Not a fan of these guys, but last night in the car I was listening to XRT. They mentioned The Spin Doctors have a new record out. They also said the group had taken a long break because their singer had lost his voice due to 'vocal paralysis'. Anyone know the story or familiar with this condition? Do you lose the ability to make any sound at all? By the way, they played a new song and his vocals sound different now but their music still sucks...errr, I mean, is not to my liking.

Funny how most people pick plays on offense. I thought Uribe's play at short the other night against the tribe was HUGE.

We'll take 1 of 3 for sure and I won't be surprised if we take 2 of 3 from Cleveland this weekend.

Prayers answered for Joe and Mrs. Crede

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) Damn you Sox fans, damn you all to hell!!! Kid if you want retro, check out The Blue Van-'the art of rolling'. Good stuff, The Animals kinda meets the Doors kinda meets the Partridge Family. They're from Denmark I think, the disc is very easy to find. I like it a lot and I usually hate retro.

I thought someone here might want to do this. It would be cool to have a Sox Talk person get chosen. Thoughts? http://www.chicagosportscasts.com/teams/whitesox.php

How are you planning to watch the potential clinch
LosMediasBlancas replied to Funkman7's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm at work downtown, so I'll listen on the radio til the 8th. If the Sox are leading in the 8th, TO THE BAR!!!! -
QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) did you see them play with bowie on the fashion first show or whatever...it was brilliant. I unno, i think funeral is a great album, probably my top 2 of albums from 04. Neighborhood #2, wake up, neighborhood #3...they do some cool stuff...plus them live and album are too very different experiences, they're very theatrical...they owned coachella and to the feller looking for raw guitars... check out lightning bolts new one - hypermagic mountain...or the liars - they threw us in a ditch and put a monument on top. No, but I hear that Bowie is all over their nuts. To each his own, they bore me. I'll check out the 2 bands you listed, thx.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) Throw back to the 70's. They will be hit with a million "they sound like The Darkness", but the main difference is that these guys are more authentic sounding and actually sound like they have spent a lifetime listening to the stuff, and not just out using it for a gimmick. They even look a bit more real, and not as much of an act as The Darkness. www.diamond-nights.com Yeah, but c'mon Kid, there is not one original riff in the whole thing.

I'm not crazy about that Garland, McCarthy finish. I think Count might start on Sunday, if it came down to it.
