Well, those mediocre stats would explain why he's so easily impressed.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) No. My wife went into a bar the night Crede hit the game ender. The whole bar was pulling for a Sox loss. When Crede did it, the place let out a collective "awww". The Sox will be a laughing stock, and the nation will love hating them more than they do. Think about it, doesn't it feel like we have no love at all. It even feels like our own division would rather see the Indians win over the Sox. The only people that do like, and ever will like our team, are the fans. edit...the bar was NOT a Cub bar. No sports stuff anywhere. It was just a bar. Kid you're right on and I've felt like this for a long time, not just during this past month. I don't know what it is about the Chicago White Sox that not only makes people indiffernt towards them, but people actually dislike them and root against them. You can't say it's an arrogant fan base, yet at the same time say we have no fans. We're never really had any abrasive Bonds type personalities on the team. We don't win year after year. What is it?

So, what'd he do, join a cult, move to another country, or is he gonna off himself?
-
Is the temp still in the high 90's? That's gotta be fun, sitting in the car at noon, with the A-C off, trying to save gas and moving at 5 mph.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) I think the real worry with that situation is this...what happens when people on the freeway start running out of gas? If it happens to like 10 cars in the entire line...that basically blocks the whole thing. Oh, it's already hapenning. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/09/22/rita/index.html
-
People have been stuck on the freeways for 13 hours, on what is normally a four hour trip! Anyone who didn't head out by today, might be stuck sititng in their car as Rita blows it away. Katrina taught us that you absolutely have to evacuate. Let's hope Rita doesn't teach us that you need more time than what we've alloted. This might get interesting.

"Juice"is so much easier to figure out than 'Pronk'.

I saw a pic in today's paper of school busses full of people being taken out of Galveston by the gov. Yeah, what stupid idea that would have been for N.O.

It's because of Ozzie's personality. Ozzie Montana's ego and Napoleon complex will not allow him to intentionally walk anyone ever, regardles of the situation or possible outcome. From Ozzie's perspective, it's a sign of weakness. How many times have we intentionally walked Hunter, Sweeney or Haffner in the past 2-3 years?? How many game winning hits do those have combined against us, say in the past 2-3 years? Secondly, Ozzie has this need to gamble and do the unconventional, because if it works out, it strokes his ego, he thinks he looks like a genius and then he can say: 'See? Now don't ever question me again.'

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Seeing that picture, I am not surprised they are real. But I really am not too familiar at all as to what they are like, in all honesty. Kid, that picture doesn't tell the story. In fact, they almost look digitally reduced. You need to see her standing and bouncing up and down the catwalk. It's not just a size issue either, it's the size and perfection that people question. Kyle, since she got a TV show to promote.
-
If those are natural, then we have seen perfection. Why do I still doubt it?

Cleveland vs. Chicago 09/21/05 7:05PM CT
LosMediasBlancas replied to S720's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I will echo what Paulie said yesterday: the season will not be decided by this series. It's important to not get too low after losses, or too high after wins. Regardless of tonight's outcome, there is plenty of season left. Now let's take 2 out of 3 from these women. -
I thought the lower bowl was sold out last night. Sure didn't look like it on TV. I guess a lot of people jumped off the bandwagon Monday night, jumped back on last night..........
-
I agree, he's nervous right now, but the more he sees these situations, the better he'll get. Someone also pointed out that he's tipping his pitches, especially his curve. He needs more control and confidence in that pitch and he'll be fine.

AJ stepping on Boone=Hunter running over Burke
LosMediasBlancas replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He had no choice. Seeing AJ and Paulie running the bases behind one another at full speed, on the same play, is one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a Sox game. -
I'm gonna go work out and maybe catch some of the last few innings at home. I have to avoid more of these games, or I'll be a full blown alcoholic by Oct.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Oh man, I can't even imagine how empty that place will be if they choke this away. Hell, they'll probably have trouble if they only get the WC or stumble into the playoffs and get pissed on. Just the fact that the lead has been cut by so much is probably enough to keep a lot of people away. Not to mention, this current team ain't no dynasty in the 1st place. It's do in '05, or down the s***ter for a while.

QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) i'm rooting for them. we may still be in first place. but would you still stay on the titanic even tho it was 98% sunk? Big difference, there was no way UNsink the Titanic. I'm IN, balls deep.

Youngins.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 20, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Casey Blake dropped a flyball, which lead to a big inning. The Indians also had massive warning track power last night, as they could have easily been up 5-0 in the 2nd inning. I bet the Indians fans are saying how great of a comeback the Sox made last night, and it still wasn't good enough to beat them. I recall us hitting 2 or 3 to the wall as well. That could have easily made it 8-7 Sox. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Is the cup half full or half empty? But hey, I'm not one to try to cheer this board up when it so obviously just wants to wallow in anger and s***.
-
Until they're eliminated, the Sox are IN. I don't think Cleveland could have played a much better game than they did last night and they still barely beat us and Ozzie pretty much handed them the game. Sorry, but I still don't fear this Indians team.
-
We DID look better in some aspects of the game last night. Rallying from a 4-0 deficit got lost in all the emotion. In the Twins series and in yesterday's game, there were at least signs of life on this team. Starting pitching has to be dominant once again.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) Saving ourselves the aggravation...I guess...these would be the people who think we'll be swept in the first round. See, I think if we win the divison and face Anaheim, it will be very tough. If we lose the division and win the WC and possibly face the East, then I like our chances.

Who's not going to the Indians series

QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Sep 19, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) There should be more than those numbers. But not by much. If there's a huge walk-up tonight, it could be a sellout, but I wouldn't bet on it. Here's my predictions: Mon-37000 Tues-29000 Wed-32000 Whatever the attendance is, I hope it's not the usual late-arriving crowd, and I hope it's louder than any other game this year. All I care about is a win, but I think we'll have a better shot at it if the crowd is loud as hell and pushes the Sox to a W! I don't see Wednesday drawing 32,000, not right after 2 half price nights.
