How the umps will call the rest of the games
LosMediasBlancas replied to Texsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 11:18 AM) Game three just became huge. This will light a flaming freakin' inferno under the Angels, IMO. We need to be good enough to withstand this. If we are, the AL pennant will fly in Chicago. We'll see soon enough, won't we? I hate to agree with this, but for the 1st time in 3 weeks, I'm nervous about the next Sox game. -
Clearly, I'm biased and if the shoe were on the other foot it would suck for us, but I really don't see the other side of the argument. We've looked at the replay a thousand times and it's still unclear, yet the ump was expected to call AJ out at the time it happened?? Paul snoozed, period, sorry Sucka.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) The store in lincoln park is all white sox. I think it is Armitage and Dickens. Really? Wow, didn't know that, thx for the tip. -
Nope, but good job there Bobby Jinx.

Excellent point about Soscia. Another manager might have ripped the umps, cried and played victim. Instead, he put the blame and challenge back onto his players. They didn't play well enough to overcome one controversial play, fact. This is part of why game 3 scares the hell out of me. Like I've said before, the post season is largely about mental toughness and momentum. They lost a heartbreaker in game 2, their manager challenges them, they get to go home, rest and put their ace on the hill in game 3. We played like crap for 2 games at home and squeak one out in game 2. Who do you think will come out with guns blazing Friday?

Seeking Sox Bar on the North Side

The Rail, 4720 N. Damen. Near the brown line Damen stop, just south of Lawrence. Nice bar and grill, good food and lots of TVs. -
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) The Suntimes says John Cusack couldn't get tickets. Kudos to Mr. Reinsdorf for denying Cusack who bleeds cubbie blue. They must have meant he couldn't get FREE tix. what page is that on, by the way?

One last thing about last night... They kept showing highlights of the Boston series, which was fine before the game. But once the game started and especially as it got into the late innings and were looking like s***, it started to piss me off. That series is over, let's move on, we look like s*** so far in THIS series. -
Hmm, my thoughts on tonight's game can be best summarized by the folowing: LET'S GO WHITE SOX CLAP, CLAP CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!
-
QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) anyone else looking on craiglist? there are some real assholes posting tickets, some of the posts you just have to laugh at though A few days ago, some dude needed a woman to do 'favors' for the tix.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) You still suck!!! Too bad you arent goin tonight, I will be in full swing in the tailgate. Man, it is getting SO tempting. There seem to be tix flying around left and right suddenly. There is a 10% chance I might show up and try to scalp. Problem is I promised some friends we'd cook out and do the whole deal at their house. f***.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) For the record, they are not for me. They are for another fan who could not get tix. I went last night, let someone else experience what we might never see again. RD, you're pretty cool, I don't care what Rock say about you. :finger

Rock, you gotta be kidding.

Looooooootta brand new, crispy Sox caps at the game last night, just an observation. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) You'll see plenty of people asking if you need tickets. Ask them for a single and what their price is. If they have them, never pay their first offer, and undercut it by a chunk to see what they come back with. If you don't like the price walkaway from them. The longer you are willing to wait, the more the prices will come down. a lot of those guys work together, so they often agree on what their minimum is and won't budge. Then it doesn't matter who you ask. Wait til after the 1st pitch.
-
QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) Do you need to bring a sign saying "Need a Single Ticket".. or is it best just to stand around and ask? I might decide to drive on over there, park along the Red Line, and take the train in.. depending on when I get out of work. If I can't get in, it'll take over an hour to get back home, and I don't wanna miss the first 5 innings. Can't make up my mind! :banghead Nah, people will approach you and ask you if you need them. My advice would be to ask someone who already bought some what they paid, so you know the going rate.

Angels @ White Sox--ALCS Game 2
LosMediasBlancas replied to Whitesoxfan56's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Thx to last night, every game from now on in this series is the biggest one of the year. Washburn said he feels 100%, so let's not get into that "oh, we should kick his ass' mind set. It didn't work too well last night, did it? We need to not beat ourselves and a vintage Mark performance. -

QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Who the hell is Alice Peacock??? Did they call her a 'Chicago recording artist' last night?? I've never even heard the name......and her singing was average at best. -
I expect a big game from Gooch tonight. The few times he's f***ed up this year, he has alwyas bounced back in a huge way. In fact, he hit one to the wall last night after his error. It's coming.

Between the red line and the park is good too.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) The crowd will be in the game if at the end of the first the white sox have a lead. You cant go down a few runs early and expect the fans to jump up and down. That plus all of the mental f*** ups. Remember if they execute and fail its one thing, but missing signs, failing to put down bunts and running the bases dumb dont really energize the crowd. I hear ya SSI, but IMO that's a lame crowd. It's easy to cheer when the team is up, the team NEEDS the support when it's trailing. -
QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) And somehow the pitcher that made the at bats look pathetic had nothing to do with it. I guess the Angels may have well put me out there because it just didn't even matter. The White Sox are 0-0-1 in this series. The new category is for "games we beat ourlselves" so it really shouldn't even count. Take it easy, no one is suggesting that. A loss is a loss, period. The title and original point of this thread is let's tip our cap to Byrd. Sorry, I won't do it.

Going tonight is probably your best bet. After last night's loss, I'm hoping the series comes back to Chicago. Tickets to games 6 and 7 will not come cheap.

I get the feeling tonight's crowd will be completely off the chain.
