I'm looking for something to give me more energy. Nothing from the guy on the corner or from the hippie at the alternative medicine shop. Do you guys take a daily vitamin? Any recommendations?

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Netflix can now give you separate queues for each household. That worked out well over the weekend. The wife watched "The Notebook" and I watched "Anchorman" We take turns picking the movie. I had talked her out of 'The Notebook' 3 times, my luck ran out.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Both articles I read on ESPN.com said it sucked. SPOILERS MAYBE First she's on the undercard of a guy who is going for heavyweight champion AND WINS...then she goes to Clint's gym and has 0 skill? The fighter at the end sucker punches her and injures her and Swank LOSES?!?!? END SPOILERS MAYBE What are you talking about? Have you seen the film?

Tadahito Iguchi needs a Nickname!

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) That's partly the point...we make his name so fearsome, nobody would DARE turn Tadpole into Asshole out of ph33r of being burninated. Lol, should he wear a cape when the Sox take the field? Keep working on that, you might be on to something. -

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) No, but it would still be nice to have a name more in line with the direction the team is moving. Tad is a weak sounding name by itself, as is Tadpole...so all we need to do is add something to it, something with a little kick. I vote for : Tadpole the Burninator, burninating the American baseball world. And his entrance song needs to be some sort of hardcore rock, like the theme song to Team America: World Police. Next up : Tadpole the Burninator...and as he approaches the plate, over the speaker system -- AMERRRRICAAAAA...F YEAHHHH! Ok, so maybe I took it a little far. -y2 It's too easy to turn 'Tadpole' into ''Asshole". -

QUOTE(daa84 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) good, i like tad...its simple, i can definately see it evolving into tadpole at some point 'Tad' goes horribly with our supposed new hard nose, take no crap image. It's wimpy and it sux, Tadpole is worse....but I'm sure Hawk's lame, country ass will be all over it. Didn't he come up with 'Saxy' for Steve Sax?? Here's the pitch by 'Softie', ground ball to 'Tad', over to 'Saxy' for one, over to 'Hottie' at 1st for a double play. -
After stalling for a couple of weeks, my wife finally broke me down and we rented "The Notebook". Now men, for those of you who don't know anything about this film, it's supposed to already be like in the top 3 all time love story tear jerkers. I must admit they have a solid, powerful ending, but everything leading up to it is so drawn out. Thoughts?

QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Hate every Bob Rohrman commercial. Absolutely love the new BK commercial with the guy from Hootie and the Blowfish. Bootie and the Ho fish made crap music=the dude ends up making BK commercials, gotta love it.

If/when the Sox finally win it all, I will get no greater thrill than to watch and listen to a LOT of media be FORCED to cover us and give us props.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) What did Sean Penn exactly say about Chris Rock? I know it had something to do with Jude Law and I heard Rock's reply, but missed what Penn said initially. wow, I missed that entirely. I heard Rock crack on Jude Law in his monolgue, but didn't hear Penn fire back. Details please.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) that's a shame.read through this thread again... that movie's got serious consistency and logistical errors. Well, if we're gonna take movies apart by what could and is probable and likely to happen, they're all garbage. It's called suspending your disbelief, if you can't do that, then you will find major flaws in all of them.

http://www.suntimes.com/output/sports/cst-spt-sox28.html I have to agree, it's over, move on to 2005.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Did anyone see all five best picture movies? I saw four of five...sideways being the missed film. Finding Neverland was my pick. anyone else? yes, MDB was mine.

I used to wonder how the s*** talking went when Yankee and Red Sox fans got together, well I found out. About 5 years ago, I took a tour of Fenway Park. There were for 4 Yankee fans in my group who, contrary to popular belief, were well behaved. Near the end of the tour, one of the Red Sox people giving the tour made some kinda crack about the Yankees. One of the Yankee fans replied: 'You know it's funny, we've toured this whole park and I haven't see any World Series banners up anywhere'. The whole group broke up laughing. Yeah, some 'rivalry'.

Well done by the academy. I was surprsied to see them give MDB so many awards since it tends to stay away from controversy. MDB deserves it all........and screw DiCrapio and Scocerce. :finger

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) The list would be too large i am thinking actually. Like the whole baseball world to start. Maybe you're right.........but I bet guys who know they don't juice, are probably privately happy that he blew the whistle. He did the dirty work.
-
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) I never said it deserved it and it probably doesn't. It was just the fact that the Yankees are the Yankees and the Red Sox hadn't won a World Series in 86 years. Plus the eastcoast biased thing. If you factor in all sports and especially on the Collegiate level, it's probably not even in the top 10.

It wouldn't be wise to drop Canseco. It wouldn't be too hard to figure out who did it. There would be a good list of suspects.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) Is there a bigger one? I can't think of one. I'm saying I agree with Doug M. He said the Yank-Bo Sox series is not all that and that other rivalries are just as intense.
-
QUOTE(daa84 @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) The boston yankees rivalry is something made completely and entirely by teh red sox fans, who are probably the biggest whinning crybaby hypocritical fans in America. I wont even get into how tehy bashed the yankees for years, and then turned into them now. I was in boston for games 3, 4, and 5 of the ALCS, and i even stayed just 2 blocks from fenway, and I can tell you that their rivalry is nothing but overhyped. boston hypes the yankees sox series like its the be all end all, and the greatest rivalry in sports (which everyone knows is army navy...dont believe me? ask a midshipman or a cadet how many days til each of the next 3 army navy games...he'll let you know). The Boston fans like to act like they know the most about their franchise...well i go to school with a self proclaimed "boston diehard" who bought a chisox 1983 hat thinking it was a red sox hat. cubs sox is a better rivalry because it is heated by hatred for the opposition, as opposed to heated by the jeleousy and shortcomings of the boston "faithful" .........just my 2cents I agree. At least with the Sox-Cubs rivalry, neither team has really won jack. It's no rivalry when the WS records are so 1 sided, like the Yankee-Bo Sox 'rivalry'.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Could be because they are always meeting in the playoffs instead of ultimately meaningless games in July? Could be because of a minor player in baseball history Babe Ruth, and the Curse of the Bambino? Could be because Boston and NY are two of the biggest cities in America and reasonably close to each other? Could be because the Evil Empire has won all those Championships and that pisses people off more than two mediocre franchises trying to win the Upper Midwest Series each year instead of a World Series? Could it be that if Minny - Sox was really a historic rivalry we would have a Nuke_Minny and not a Nuke_Cleveland I'm well aware of all that. I'm not saying the Sox-Twins rivalry is bigger, just that the Yanks-BoSox rivalry is overhyped non sense.
-
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Haha that's kind of cool. We just don't have ESPN hyping our's up like that. He's right, explain to me how there is a rivalry, when it's so one sided? Ok, let's see here, Yanks 27, 28 World championships, Red Sox um, hmm 1, 2 ?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) Hmmmpfh hmmm :puke You would think if it came into contact with either saliva or air, that it might kill it, guess not huh? Her attorney said something like 'I guess he wasn't careful with where he put his semen, well too bad.' Gotta love that quote, I'm sure there is nothing evil or conniving (sp?) as a motivation.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Hell no, there will never be another rock era like there was from the early 60s through the early 70s. Reggae will never be as good as it was in the mid-70s. Jazz fusion will never produce thousands of killer tracks per year like it did from 1967 to 1973. James Brown ain't coming back, and neither are Al Green, Otis Redding, or Marvin Gaye for that matter. There's nothing wrong with keeping this stuff alive, is there? Are you suggesting that it should just die with your generation? That's perhaps one of the most selfish things that I've ever heard. A candy-ass argument, for sure. Great music is timeless.

I believe women are capable of anything, but how exactly did she preserve the semen?
