  1. Wow, no one is really underground huh? Where's that other thread that had more new release, non radio music going?
  2. Time for new stuff. Anyone familar with any of these? Worth buying? Detachment Kit Bright Eyes Suffrajett The Go
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I just think that no one.. regardless of race, gender, family status, or worth is anymore at risk than anyone else. ok.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Obviously I misunderstood which is why I asked rather than assumed that's what you meant. So now you are saying that victims of sexual predators are mostly children from bad homes..? Seriously.. I don't get the connection between the two things. Then maybe you just don't agree. I can't be any clearer about the connection and how I see it, sorry.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) So now you're saying that only children from bad homes are victims of sexual predators..? Now, c'mon Steff, where did you get that? I neither wrote it or nor implied it. Predators will look for easier targets. In other words, kids who probably won't tell. Usually, those kids don't have a good enough relationship with their parents and have no one to turn to. Any kid can be a victim of an attempt of some kind, usually the kids who have poor family communication will keep silent about it. Of course there are exceptions, but usually that's what happens. I'm not revealing anything that most social workers or school councelors won't tell you.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) I don't know if I'd blame bad parenting. Adults in authoratative roles sometimes pray on the most unsuspecting. I'm sure not all the posters here who said you would have "hit it" have bad parents.. overactive hormones maybe. Preying is why they call those people predators. They know who the kids are that come from the bad homes and who to target
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) Yea.. far worse does go on. So just look the other way..? It's pretty effing sad when a parent can't be sure their kids are safe at school. Oye.. I would love to be a fly on the wall when some of you become parents.. Yeah, ultimately, it comes down to parenting. This would never have happened to me, cuz I would have told my parents in a heartbeat. I'll rasie my kids the same way, I'm only responsible for them.
  8. Any idea how many flawed ones they made?
  9. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) wtf kind of highschool... can you say sluts...(both men and women, and both highschoolers and teachers). :headshake :puke C'mon people, it's not Mr. Roger's neighborhood out here. This kinda stuff and some far worse goes on all the time.
  10. When I was in 7th grade, a had a hot teacher who was very 'touchy-feely' with me. In the right situation, who knows, she might have given me the cookies. In H.S. this hot woman, probably in her early 30's, who worked in the library got drilled by like 10 students, just in the 4 years I was there. Also, a male drafting teacher, probably in his mid 40's, drilled all the best looking chicks at the school at the time. They'd come by and peak their head in the classroom, he'd excuse himself for a few minutes. Everyone knew what was up, I always wondered how they didn't get busted.
  11. AD is probably the funniest, wittiest, most clever, most well written show ever on TV. It should be on cable.
  12. I'm hearing stories from Cub fans about how Farns. is a mess. Boozing way too much, arrives late, lazy, cancer in the clubhouse, wasn't there for the last game like Sammy, etc. Anyone no more about this?

Besides Soxtalk, what other boards do you visit often? Doesn't have to be sports related, but please keep your fetishes to yourself. Just curious about everyone's other interests. Thx.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) This comes under the guise of proofread your articles http://www.nbc5.com/news/4184303/detail.ht...994&dppid=65192 By my calculations that should make the building 12,815 feet tall. Petronas Towers take that!!! So, would Chicago have the world's tallest buiding again? More importantly, when do we get the casinos??
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) There is no such thing as a no-strings-attached relationship at 13... Hence the post above where I mention sex exactly zero times, and "relationship" multiple times. I understood what you wrote and see your point. I think it depends on the details and on the kid. I don't believe that certain experiences automatically make you 'f***ed'. Nor do I believe everyone needs a shrink to get over s***. If that's the case, we're all 'f***ed'. Just my opinion.
  16. The two situations are totally different. The 1st couple have kids and had and on going relationship and claimed to be in love. This other kid, from what it sounds like so far, was just in a physical relationship. If it turns out that there was more to it and she was jerking him around (no pun intended) with love and marriage talk, I'll change my opoinion.

Why do I get the feeling this is only the tip of the iceberg for this group? Things like 'their creed' and 26 year olds handing out discipline to 16 year olds, are usually a red flag.
  18. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) and crime is crime. and this teacher is a sexual predator who should be locked away for what she did, once it's proven in court. a 27-year-old woman who has sexual desires towards a 13-year-old boy is every bit as much of a sicko as the reverse would be. No one is arguing that. My point is that no way is the effect on a boy the same as it would be on a girl.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) So it should work the opposite way, right...? Maybe a 13 year old girl would be as estatic to get laid. It's possible I suppose.. Right..? Remember that when you have a daughter... Nope, boys are boys and girls are girls.
  20. 4. there is no dirt in holes, that's why they are holes.
  21. 13. they married outside of the U.S.
  22. 9. she doesn't live in the US.
  23. 3. brown. 8. Mt Everest
  24. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) As sick as that story is I think we are missing something here. If this was a male teacher everyone on here would be repulsed. We would want the guy castrated (and I can't said i'd disagree). The point is this is happening way to often and I don't care if it's male or female it's still rape and it's no joking matter. This 13 year old isn't a pimp. Or a stud. More then likely the poor kid will be in counseling for years trying to get over what happened to him. Unless it was forced on him or that kid is gay, the only thing that will traumatize him is people telling him he's a victim and telling him how he horribe he should feel about it.
