  1. You're right, but I think we can help it somewhat, or at least not make it worse. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 05:54 PtM) Unfortunately, that perception has long been around and I doubt it will go away anytime soon.
  2. Actually the best seats, just like their last tour, are the cheapest, ground floor is only like $50.00 I think. Those will probably be gone, only 3rd tier will be left for sale.
  3. I think it has more to do with how the TEAM is percieved by those outside of the organization. We don't want a reputation that we jerk players around, or say one thing in the press and then turn around and act completely different the next month. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Spare the violins, its a tough world, if he is as good as you say then he will prosper. But not for this team. Tough luck, move on. its over. I simply do not understand how everyone gets attached to players around here. Its like people care about these players. Willie Harris does not care about you. Its really not about players anymore its about the team and winning. When you don't win then changes need to be made despite your love for a player. It really doesn't make a difference if he got a fair shot or not. the sox are trying to field the best team. they think he doesn't fit, thats it. he will be gone whether fans like him or not. One day your loved the next day your not. See sammy sosa.
  4. But ya just can't do it, can ya? Just personally, personally that is. ROFLMAO, I'm crying. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Actually it was laughter as I read the PM's telling me to "ignore the jagoff". Personally.. I didn't take your BS personally. Oh well..
  5. LOL, that sound I just heard must have been the steam off your head when you read 'oversized.' QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Oh Lord.. now you've gone and insulted the SB riders.. hopefully LosMediasBlancas wont be too hard on you..
  6. OMG, seriously please stop, I'm gonna wet my pants. I'd take you for another spin but I'm out of quarters. Ok, now you go..... QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) I'm still lurking.. not that this belongs here.. but since the idiot accountants are lollygagging.. I'll play. First.. check the source of that tickle. I don't touch strays. Second.. I don't have a problem with responding to you. Like I said.. boring day at the office today. Third.. wrong..? My opinion is wrong. Ok.. :dips*** smiley. Fourth.. hot headed. LMAO.. I wish cause it's about 40 degrees in my office right now and I could use the heat. And finally.. keep the feet up. I can only imagine how deep the s*** is in there..
  7. Please stop it, you tickle me. Then take your own advice. You disagreed with what I wrote, don't respond. 'Don't like it... don't respond, it's pretty simple', remember? But as usual, you get proven wrong and get hot headed, typical. I don't expect a reply since you've 'moved on'. I need the bathroom, my bladder. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) Don't like it... don't respond. It's pretty simple. Smartass.. touche. Ignorant (as in misunderstanding, not rude) is more fitting, IMO. And as I already said.. you think they handled it badly (paraphrasing) I don't. Agree to disagree... Moooooooving on..
  8. Rhetorical huh? Wow, there's a new one for me. But if a point has been made to the contrary, that question becomes unnecessary. But it's good to see you not completely miss the point and that you don't need to resort to being a smartass to try to make one. Let's say your read in a weekly publication at work that 'Steff will be a huge part of the company's plans for 2005'. Two weeks later, you find out that the company went out and hired someone with your same title and will be paying them a good salary. I suppose your company has done nothing wrong and you wouldn't be upset or say anything to anyone about it? QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) rhetorical question n. 9. TWO questions. Both answered........before you asked them. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) The Sox could have handled it differently...? Like maybe they should have gone to the press and complained about what a head case Willie is.. how he doesn't listen.. the real reasons his ass was benched... Who's the one running their mouths in the papers...? :rolly The Sox have been just fine in this situation.
  10. Then you've answered your own question. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Once is enough. Agree to disagree.
  11. Read my previous posts in this thread.
  12. All I'm saying is yes, Willie must go, but the Sox could have handled certain situations with him better, that's all. We'll agree to disagree. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Your not going to be convinced so its really not worth it, we are on the exact opposite ends.
  13. Then say nothing, why say the opposite? QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) That's part of life dealing with the media. They certainly can't come out and say "he's a goner". If Robbie Alomar had performed last year, Harris probably would already be gone.
  14. What do your ansers need to be, in order to be considered 100% Yankee on this thing?
  15. So then how was he possibly the team leader?? By Rah Rah cheerleading? The point is Ozzie needs to stop making those comments, because guess what, the players actually listen and believe him. Same goes for the Wille comments. Yes, Willie must go. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) How long do you keep a team leader that bats 213. Till he's sixty? i mean really its time to move on. Willie has an attitude problem we will never know the full extent, but we get snipnets of a guy that is not proven and the sox don't want to let him prove himself out for there own reasons. The boy needs to go.
  16. While I can certainly see why people are fed up with Willie, you have to admit the Sox and especially Ozzie send mixed signals sometimes. Willie's right, the team has gone back and forth about him. Just one week ago, Ozzie said that if Willie plays to his potential the team would have no problems. I don't know, that would sound to me like Willie not only has the starting job, but also will play a huge role in 2005. One week later, he's not starting and might be off the team. Remember how Valentin was his team 'leader'? Apparently he was so much of a leader that the team decided to get rid fo him.
  17. I agree, Tucson doesn't have much for me, especially at night. I looked up and down that city especially the area around the University figuring I couldn't miss there and it was all lame. They had a 1:00 AM license which I belive recently changed to 2:00 AM WOO-HOO.
  18. It's supposed to read "a team physical", read the post itself. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) what was it supposed to be? a mod of this forum or an admin can change it for ya...
  19. Noticed that, no idea how it happened or how to fix it. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Sorry but that thead title makes no sense at all.
  20. She'll say whatever is conveneinet for her to say depening on who is in front of her, regardless of how it makes her look with the goal of self promotion. Yep, sounds like a ho to me. :sleep
  21. Actually, $60.00 for just a ticket is more than fair when you consider what scalpers will want. Keep the beer and bus ride, can I just buy tickets from you? I live 10 mins from Wrigley. Where exactly are the 200 level seats that you have? Is that upper deck, or one of those s***ty corners behind a pole in the lower bowl?
  22. This could be dangerous.
  23. A guy born and raised on the southside of Chicago is '49%-barely a Yankee'. My favorite is people who call a grocery bag a 'sack'. I thought sack implies cloth
  24. Tucson is very small and has very little traffic. If you don't care about amenities, you can find a Motel 6 for like $45.00 a night and would still be like 10 mins from the park. You'll have just as good a chance at meeting players no matter where you stay, you can find some of them out at night at the bars. ^ QUOTE(boonrob @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 06:00 AM) Can anyone tell me (for sure) what hotel the SOX stay at in Tucson for spring training? I'm open to other suggestion of decent nearby hotels if that one is sold out for my dates. Thanks.
