  1. if Ny Quil works without booze, why was there ever any it to begin with? QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 04:02 AM) We did shots of Nyquil in High School. Back before they took the booze out of it. Yet I still had to be 21 to buy Non-Alcoholic Beer....
  2. Saw "Touching the Void". You have never seen a survival story until you see this one about 2 guys stuck on a mountain in Peru. WOW.
  3. The guy knew EXACTLY what he was saying. C'mon, it slipped out? Even if it did, how did it get in his head in the 1st place?
  4. They are trying to align themselves with the Yankees and Red Sox, teams that have actually won something. They aren't fooling anyone.....except for their 'fan base'.
  5. Really? I'm gonna the SMs in 2 weeks. I don't dig 'The Killers', thx for the suggestion though. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) secret machines are so bad live...yuck.. well, i gotta say Sugar Ros, the faint, the killers, and this doesn't really fit in but the pixies should always be added.
  6. A while back I read about a city in N.M. they call 'drunk town' because so many of the residents are alcoholics. Anyway, the city is dry on Sundays, so people stock up on Saturdays and then buy like hairspray and rubbing alcohol instead when they run out of booze. :puke QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) That was common back when I was in HS. I couldn't understand it then or now. Blech. Back when I was working at the grocery strore, we had people come in that would buy lots of mouthwash and would tell us that it was cheaper than regular alcohol so that is why they drank it. Turned my stomach whenever I heard that.
  7. LOL, I'm looking for some new stuff. The last few things I really enmjoyed are Snow Patrol, Secret Machines and Interpol. Any suggestions? QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) super, i did it justice then.
  8. A Gon?...what the f*** for? QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) When I heard of this trade awhile ago I called a friend who lives in Fla.. He has some pull since he works for one of the newspapers there has an intern for the sports section.. He doesnt think that Fla will trade Castillo but he has heard that the Whitesox are intersted in Alex Gonzalez..
  9. Neither of those descriptions make it sound very interesting.
  10. Who would you compare them to? QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV - Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness Best band out there right now.
  11. I see, those are very good, especially 1 and 2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) -He talked about identifying specific ethnic markets for one thing. -He also talked about working in the Northside and in NW IN as untapped bases. -There is talk of openning a parking lot early in the morning so that people can park there then and not have to pay to park in downtown as well. -They are sending the giveaways to season ticketholders in the mail so that they are guarenteed to get them. -Talked about their advertising schemes breaking new ground -Talked about having 21 preseason games on TV, where as the next highest team in MLB will broadcast 8. They are also going to bring players up to the booth so that we can get to know them personally. -They are going to make an effort to market the players in their commericials -Encouraged fans to contact him and his staff to share ideas. -Trying to make baseball in Bridgeport an experience and not just a 3 hour game. -Changing the between innings stuff on the scoreboard to better utilize the technology they have. That's what I can remember right now from the seminar. I am sure more will come to me.
  12. But it's all general, nothing specific. The changes to the ballpark were in place for a few years, that's not on his clock. If the team tanks, he will get attendance to increase? Not challenging you, just asking how. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Examples of what part? There was a lot of info there...
  13. I wouldn't mind that at all, as long as we beat them on the filed as well. Let's not get too emotional over it and lose sight of the real goal. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) All this is old news. Coulda woulda shoulda. It's a new year and message needs to sent to the Twins. Very first pitch to a Twins hitter in 2005 needs to be "chin music". Throw down the damn gauntlet and let's go kick some ass.
  14. what are some examples. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) The differences between Gallas and Boyer are incredible. Gallas and his group did a great job between the lines. They had ideas to bring new things to the park and great promotions. But there were the little things that were missing. Brooks connects with fans instantly. He communicates in a way that makes you feel like you are the most important fan the White Sox have. He loves the fan interactions he has. He also really gets that it is the little things that stick with people, and can make them lifelong fans. And they really are exploring all avenues to get people to the park, and make it easier and more appealing to do so. The ideas they have and the innovations they are talking about are excellent.
  15. How so? QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) Brooks Boyer is going to change that. Mark my words.

I rented "Employee of the Month" with Matt Dillon and Chrsitina Applegate. Don't remember seeing it at the movies. Anyway, it was worth the $3.00. Lots of twists at the end, even into the credits.
  17. 1. Don't touch or use my stuff, don't let your guests or friends use or touch my stuff. 2. Be queit when I'm sleeping. Keep your guests or friends quiet when I'm sleeping
  18. Believe it or not, this is like the 4th time I hear a similar story. Don't ask me where the nails enter, or how they don't leave a mark, but it happens.
  19. I caught a small part of this. Did Garland say that in his opinion his development is AHEAD of schedule?
  20. LosMediasBlancas replied to mreye's topic in SLaM
Um, uh huh. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) :fyou Alec Baldwin! Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Check out "The Cooler" with Alec Baldwin, it's been out for a while, but a lot of people are still snoozin' on it.
  22. The '83 playoffs are just painful. What did we hit as a team in that post season? Like .100.
  23. here is what I need to know: A guy is outted the 1st time he's busted? Is it random or mandatory? Do they know when they will be tested ahead of time? QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) i dunno about that, on ESPN last night some guy was ripping it apart. When i first saw it, i thought "hey...looks like they're finally trying to fix it." guess i was wrong
  24. None or very few will be left over after all the different packages are done buying.
  25. what did you think of it? QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) I'm looking forward to seeing how some of you like it?
