Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Asia - 225,000+ dead
I forgot the dates, but twice it hit Cali. No, the magnitude was not that great, but a tsunami did hit Cali. This one was like a 9 on the Richter scale, so depending on where on land it hit, it sure could have done more damage that it did. I think the one in the 80's in SF was only like a 7 on the scale.

Earthquakes and Tsunamis in Asia - 225,000+ dead
Just noticed this thread. I bet this would have been more devastating had it hit land. Related, nature story: Last year my wife and I were on a deserted beach in Peru. We had just gotten back into the shallow water, maybe waist deep, when suddenly it felt like the bottom dropped out like 4 feet at once and we were being pulled into the ocean. I'm not sure how, but we managed to get out. Later that evening, we found out there had been a minor earthquke in Lima. The locals said that kinda stuff happens sometimes and that people just dissapear.

Favorite Pizze spot in Chicago?
Their quality has slipped a lot in recent years and it still varies from location to location, but when it's done right, Goirdano's deep dish cannot be F'd with. Anyone know a place called Falco's on Archer in the city? Their thin crut is a sleeper.

How bout that Tsunami huh
Not sure if anyone posted this already. Just one more reason to stay away of the water. I'm sorry people lost their lives, but I have always been fascinated by the power of a tsunami.

Films
Saw "Closer" and "Napoleon Dynamite" this weekend. Save your money on both. "Closer" is a book, no reason to make that into a film. "Napoleon D.." is lame, ok I get it, he's a dork, not funny, move on.

We know it's Eckstein...
The more you guys talk about the Harris, Eck, Cora pros and cons, the more it kinda sounds like the 5th starter dilemna from last year. They're all decent players, just good and bad in different ways.

Bally's Fitness
Tough decision. Unfortunately, you usually only see the $$$ savings after you've been a member for a few years. BUT most places will try to get you to pay for like 3 years up front in order to get those savings. See if they'll let you buy 3 or 6 months at a time, fat chance.

We know it's Eckstein...
We'll be outbid, we don't have that much loot left to play around with, another team will probably overpay for him.

projected wins by our rotation
How many wins will each of our 5 starters have in 2005?

Maybe the funniest thing I've ever seen
Wonder if that has more to do with them being from Louisville rather than them being 'partners'.

Anyone ever tried Theraflu?
Dr.s will tell you that once you HAVE a cold, you can't really put the brakes on it. The best thing is prevention through a regular shedule of the stuff you've been taking. As for the train ride, find a friend who might have 'something' to knock you out.

How often do you eat fast food
Those healthy stores aren't even IN poor communities, so it's not even an option. I saw a thing on either 20/20 or Dateline where they went into neighborhoods in Detroit and NY looking at their grocery store options. Those places don't even have like fruit and vegetables at the local stores.

How often do you eat fast food
You have to also understand that fast food places target poor communities and feeds into people's laziness. A family of 5 can go to McD's and when chesseburgers are on sale, eat for $5.00 total. A salad ALONE at McDs is $5.00, which one are you gonna buy if you're poor? If you add up all the money that they are spending for a whole month, you could argue that it would cost just as much to buy gorceries and cook for yourself...but then you have to remember that people are LAZY. Everything that is marketed to us as 'convenient' or 'fast' or 'instant' is really to make us lazier.

How often do you eat fast food
That film should be MANDATORY. I haven't had a single drop of pop since watching it. To answer your question, maybe once a month and not from any of the major places either.

"One More Piece of the Puzzle"

"One More Piece of the Puzzle"
Remind me again why Anaheim is done with Eck. Who is their infield? Why do they have no interest in him?
