Exactly. Some Sox fans complain that we are cheap, well if you want a guy this off season, you HAVE to over pay, look at Benson, he set the bar. Now people will complain if we sign Clement that we over paid

I wouldn't call us the favorites right now, not even if we added Johnson and gave up 4 players in the process. I won't argue attendance at the Cell if he came, I have learned that there is no pattern.

RJ is not enough. I think if we get RJ, as many people have said, then JR almost HAS to open up the wallet and go for it, balls out and land 2 more pieces of the puzzle. The absolute WORST thing for us, while we're on the subject of PR, would be to land RJ and STILL lose the division. So no, just the PR alone is not good enough, you'd have to win it all, IMO.

2 thoughts, In regard to why this is coming out now, some Sox fans still don't fully understand or like the trade, this sheds some light on why it happened. Secondly, more and more Sox players seem to leave the team on bad terms, or with personality conflicts. It explains some of the lack of team attitude, heart, balls and guts of the past few years.

I didn't hear Hermy, but I did hear Schoen....which is inetresting when you consider that he has pretty much demanded to be a starter, or he'll walk....and I've heard no talk about him walking.

I think I remember Kenny said soldifying the rotation was the #1 priority this offseason.

Yep, it felt like there was more of a personality issue there.

After reading the paper today.........let's assume that Clement is now out of our price range ( he has 2 better [$$] offers on the table) and that we can afford either Perez and Lowe. Are we better off with Perez or Lowe as our#4 guy and bumping Garland down to the #5 slot. OR are we better off with Garland at #4 and Grilli at #5 ? Even if we think we'd be overpaying Perez or Lowe, I think that's the better choice.
