Tadahito Iguchi needs a Nickname!
I was thinking along the lines of Mussina and Moose. 'Now hitting for the White Sox, the 2nd baseman, number 5, Tadahito Iguchi' Crowd: 'Goooooooooooooch.' QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) that's going to be a verb, as in, he gooched second. Runners on second and third and still nobody out. His real name sounds like a nickname so let's give him a real name. May I suggest Ted Jones?

Coffee Makers
It depends on how fancy you're getting with your coffee. A decent, basic one should run you about $30.00, just for regular old coffee. I have one with a timer, so that it's ready when I get out of bed. Now if you've got a Starbucks type of operation going, well then.......

Does Hanson really suck?
The singer/keyboard player needs to ditch his brothers and go solo. He seems to have most of the talent and could have a decent career once he gets older. He could go on without them, they could not. Backstab the family dude.

Films
'Million Dollar Baby' should win a few Oscars, great film, great performances! It probably won't because it's too controversial for the bread and butter academy. Anyone else seen this yet?

Official 2005 Chicago Snow Storm thread
Over the weekend I heard that NYC had 'put a stop to vacations and ordered all city streets and sanitation employees back to work'. Can you imagine getting back to the hotel after a day at the beach and a night of partying and getting a message from your boss demanding that you go back to work, LMAO. :finger

Can you cut it as an airport screener..?
I hope real screeners aren't on a time limit.

Optimism for Everett?
YEP, lots and lots of question marks, making it one of the most interesting years in a while. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) This year is full of question marks. Carl Everett is just one of them.

Iguchi's agent submits new proposal
It wouldn't be THAT big a story and secondly, I'm not gonna cream my slacks over this guy just yet. Just cuz some Sox fans hate Wille and it fits financially doesn't automatically make it a great idea. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) I think it would be totally sweet if we can sign Iguchi this weekend when the cubs are having their convention...

Which newcomer will have the biggest impact?

2005's most anticipated cd releases???
Lighten up man, your not IN the f'n band. Of course it comes down to personal taste, it's not for me, big deal. Enjoy it and keep the suggestions coming. QUOTE(False Alarm @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) your elitist-critic shtick works OK i guess but it's kinda tired. cerb did it first, and better. some peeps prefer the atmospheric/postrock thing, especially a crew who does it as refreshingly as sigur ros; some prefer joy div--i mean, the psychadelic f--i mean, interpol. no need to mock either way.

Local Celebrities' Allegiance
I thought he had jumped on the Scrub bandwagon. No real Sox fan would sing at Wrigley, I don't care how much pub it got you. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) Bernie Mac is a big White Sox fan... so much so that some of the lame Cub fans blame him for "cursing" them by singing the 7th inning stretch during one of the crucial NLCS games

2005's most anticipated cd releases???

5th starter
I understand what you're saying, but don't you think there are different expectations of guys depening on their spot in the rotation? For some guys, maybe that pressure affects their performance. I'm not a huge fan of Girland, but I do feel better about him being our #5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 19, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) I don't think there is any more or any less pressure on Garland from #3, #4, or #5. He walks out of the dugout and takes the mound, he's got to pitch.

Marte/Harris for Castillo
This Castillo rumor is heating up folks. Hearing about it from a couple of 'sources'.
-
Mie Homtoun
Did anyone click on the other link about traffic? Chicago is 2nd worst, no surprise there.
-
5th starter
Make Girland the #5 guy, without the pressure he turns around and wins 18.

Mouth wash and Driving
That's interesting, why have a depressant in it at all? The marketing tells you that it relieves cold symptons and so consequently, you are able to sleep better. If it just basically knocks you out, it's not really more of a cold med is it? QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Cheaper than the depressant they had to put in it to take the alcohol out. They could make Sudafed without the ingredients that can be used in Crystal Meth. (In some states they do) But its cheaper to use the standard formula. Only when law mandates it, will drug companies change a formula.

She's still around? I thought she would've had a complete nervous breakdown by now. QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) I've heard a couple tracks from Fiona Apple's record. Its goood.

Chris DeLuca still has Twins as team to beat:
Exactly. Every once in a while that guy gets bored and puts out a non story. Usually he tries to stir the pot, his cubicle must be next to Moronotti's. Frank not back til mid season??? QUOTE(JoshPR @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) To Depuca.. NO s*** SHERLOCK
