  1. I'm wearing my rose colored glasses and having a great big glass of kool aid listening to Ethel Merman sing "Everything's Coming Up Roses" so I'm optimistic.
  2. Didn't a lot of this place pick the Sox to win like 94 games in the recent poll ? Maybe everyone's pissed because the Sox are making them look like idiots , pissed at themselves for actually having faith that the pitching would overcome the offense. The close but consecutive losses at home to division rivals to open the season has ruptured that faith and instilled feelings of naivete and gullibility much like a wife who's husband cheated on her during the honeymoon.
  3. What are the rules again for how often you can pick the same player ?
  4. Not everyone has a facebook but thanks anyway
  5. Forgot something so turned on the TV to see Q double and PK homie YAY ! Back out to work now.
  6. Bring home a winner men. I'm off into the So Cal rain. Hopefully no more earthquakes today.
  7. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) I believe pre-game and post are owned by the station, not MLB. So having EI doesn't help with that. The sports pack includes all Comcast and Fox sports channels so we see CSN Chicago all the time on DTV and pre and post game was always part of it before.
  8. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) This sucks. The pregame is blacked out on DIRECTV even though I have MLBEI and Sports pack. I noticed that too, hopefully that won't continue or maybe its new this year. I have mlb extra innings and comcast in a sports package so why I wouldn't get it I have no idea.
  9. Obama about to throw out the 1st pitch in the Phillies/ Nationals game . White Sox cap with Nationals jacket. 100th anniversary of President throwing out the 1st ball.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 08:36 AM) Ya, its a very cool nickname. Never heard it till today but I think thats what I want to call him. Then when he gets injured again we can say we're sans Quentin .
  11. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) Rudy Law? Or do we need to go back to the days of Ken Berry or Jungle Jim Rivera? Ahh Ken Berry my boyhood idol .
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) He's a 32-year old journeyman reliever with a career ERA/WHIP of 5.31/1.62. 12 spring innings doesn't change the fact that he's not a ML caliber pitcher. I don't feel that bad for him. I'm not saying he should have made the team. Santos pitched well and they didn't want to risk losing him so I understand the reasons. Just was throwing stats out there. For the most part it strikes me as funny that plenty of pitchers and hitters make teams based on spring numbers no matter how small the sample size. Ok so maybe lots of them are younger with good minor league numbers. But when pitchers do bad we hear about the Arizona air and breaking balls not breaking and pitchers just getting in their work and when someone kicks ass its the sample size. Hope he does well in the minors . Extra good arms are always a plus.
  13. Greg Aquino did everything he could to make the team but didn't. 12.1 innings pitched , 0.00 ERA, 0.57 WHIP, 8K, 3 BB, .105 Avg. against . With Santos out of options he had no chance.
  14. Winner winner chicken dinner .
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Rios and Konerko successfully execute the Hit and Run. Paulie still couldn't get to 3rd base since it was hit to LF. Jenks in.
  16. AJ grounds out to short. Teahen crushes one but caught by Willits.
  17. Kotsay groundout ends inning.
  18. Q one of the few who hasn't got on base yet tonight.
