QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) Two opposite field doubles today. I love it. Makes the 2nd base battle even more interesting. Or the CF battle if Beckham plays short and sexzy A lez ay plays CF.

Non roster invitee Scott Strickland in to pitch for the Dodgers. Q singles on 3-0 pitch and Dodgers change pitchers again. Alexei stops at 2nd. LH Elbert in to pitch to Thome. Thome walks on 3-2 pitch. Fields with bases loaded . Fields pops out to catcher in foul ground. End of 5 innings 2-1 Sox.

2-2 count on Beckham and he bent it down the right field line for a double to score BA who reached on a HBP , Now Alexei singles to right to score Beckham and give the Sox the 2-1 lead. McDonald taken out.

White Sox vs. Dodgers 3/8
BA infield single to short, Miller short fly out to right with Anderson going but he got back so no DP, Beckham with dunker down the right field line for a double, Anderson to 3rd , Alexei K's, Kershaw out might have tweaked something K'ing Alexei. RH James McDonald in to pitch , Q groundball in the hole, Furcal 1 hops it to first, Mantkiewicz with a good stretch and scoop for the out, no runs 2 hits

Kroeger/Marquez Article
There's certainly a clusterf*ck of suck in the OF. BA could solve the problem by just hitting but noooooo at least not yet. I'd happily wave so long to Owens and Wise (don't let the door hit you in the *ss on the way out). Let's see Kroeger play some games in CF. An Anderson/ Kroeger platoon could work. Lillibridge has a gaping hole in his swing so our 2 fastest guys couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. You know Betamit and Stewart have backup spots almost assured. I seriously wish Beckham was ready . I'd push Alexei into CF and start Beckham at SS and we could actually see major league talent perform. Keep BA around just for defense and power off the bench. Alexei as the backup SS.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 05:27 PM) The Hawks can't afford 900k and still make it under the salary cap. We could not have made this trade. What do you think Pahlsson is making ? $1.4 mill. according to what I looked up. Besides aren't the salaries prorated for the remainder of the season so the Hawks would have been paying less than half of that. Maybe the Leafs didn't want to take on any salary since they took a draft pick. If that's the case I still think the Hawks could have given up a 2nd and 4th or 5th rounder to get a better younger player who would have more time to adjust to his team mates than will Pahlsson who has mono. According to NHLSCAP.com the Hawks had a max deadline addition of around $1.3 mill. and they also lost part of Craig Adams salary so they easily could have added Moore for draft picks. http://www.nhlscap.com/teamnumbers.htm But to be fair I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to figuring it all out . Wiz and Adams salary combined was 1.5 mill so that seemed to cover the 1.4 they picked up in Pahlsson salary. How the guy at NHLScap.com came up with 1.3 max deadline space is beyond me.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) Wiz is not that great on the ice, but does stick up for teammates. I really wish we traded him for Moore though. Seriously Moore only netted a 2nd round pick. Blackhawks couldn't beat that for a guy who is making only 900K ? Sammy P. won't even be in the lineup for 2 weeks.

The Hawks are near the bottom in overall faceoff percentage wins and the penalty kill hasn't been very effective the last month and a half. The Hawks will need to create cap space to try and solve both these problem areas. I still think the Hawks have a shot at Dominic Moore of Toronto.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) BTW Booby Mac said tonight on TSN again the Chicago is pushing very hard for Vermette. He is #1 on the list. He did not say it would cost us Barker. P Mac said Skille and wiz would probably get that deal done but CBJ's are pressing hard as well. Blue Jackets got him. Damn !

Havlat wins it in OT with great individual effort. He's been showing lately just how good he really is. He's a UFA after the season and is already making $6 mill. I wonder what it will take to resign him. He made a lot of money while injured and sure would hate to see him go. He's been looking like a superstar.
