  1. Moncada is a good fielder and still young and hits best from the left side. He has to be kept just to give him a chance to get right. He's ultra talented if he can get it together.
  2. Bummer to pitch to 3 RHH in a row, no. Ruiz walks too many . Foster sure but Lopez was probably the right call. Lopez has a decent FIP, ERA doesn't tell the whole story.
  3. Your suggestion ? RHP with 1st 3 hitters being RH and still the 7th inning with a 4 run lead.
  4. All hail Kopech !!! Take a seat young man . You did good.
  5. I think when you aren't good enough to hit MLB pitching you have no confidence and think you can help the team by taking a walk. That said you still have to expect a fastball there like 100% load up for it and take your hack.
  6. Reese if you can't expect a fastball there after he missed on 3 breaking pitches in a row , when can you expect the fastball ?
  7. You know he's a better hitter now but hopefully he can find the spot between a .300 hitter who hits 20 HR's and a .275 hitter who can hit 35 HR's.
  8. Pirates actually have some left handed guys who aren't really bad , just average.
  9. Kelly who was injured, Graveman who can't pitch all that often, Leury 3 yrs, Velasquez and Cueto dumpster diving.
  10. Not just the OF, 2nd base, a trade FA or someone just to get more LH. He got Harrison (RH) and Pollock (RH) and last minute trade for LH McGuire who we all knew was better defensively but couldn't hit a lick.
  11. Which is exactly how bad the left handed hitting has been. Not just this year, but in the whole history of the franchise. It's the real curse of why the Sox can never win.
  12. The left handed hitting sucks but until Sheets, Moncada or Grandal start hitting the Sox will keep struggling. That's why it's easy to play him. The Sox need some left handed hitter to show they can provide some power. So those guys have to keep playing. I wouldn't be adverse to Haseley but he cannot slug .500
  13. It was a good AB considering Kopech problem's in his last start. You get him to walk the 1st better and he might revert to how he pitched in his last start. Make him prove he can throw strikes .
  14. It still doesn't address the biggest problem the Sox have and that's Left handed hitting. It's terrible. Last in MLB in just about every way possible by a large margin.
  15. https://www.soxon35th.com/breaking-down-a-struggling-white-sox-offense/ I'll just start off with that which is fairly in depth. I will also add some things on my own just from looking at Left handed hitters splits among all MLB teams YTD. Batting Average: White Sox 30th .182, Yankees 29th .198 OBP: White Sox 30th .235, 29th Tampa Bay .267 That is a HUGE gap between the 2 worst OBP teams that's how bad the Sox have been hitting LH. Slg. %: White Sox 30th .258. ,Tigers 29th .304. Slg. % is my favorite stat and there is another HUGE gap between the worst and 2nd worst team. That's how bad the LHH on the Sox has been. OPS: White Sox 30th .493 , Tigers 29th .583 Wow the Sox are just beyond TERRIBLE hitting LH . Another HUGE gap between the 2 worst teams. Looking at all this I feel confident in saying that Ted Williams using just one hand could do better. Looking at it another way however might be a way to provide a solution . The Sox are 25th in AB among RHH . Not that surprising since we all know they are a predominantly RHH team . But who has the most LH AB's in the majors can point out some potential trade partners. Diamondbacks, Mets, Pirates, Mariners, Giants, Rays, National, Padres. However, LHH sucks throughout baseball, which seems odd considering they have a platoon advantage. Only half the LHH teams have a cumulative Batting average of over .230 and only 9 teams have a LHH Slg. % at .400+. Guess which teams have the best LHH stats in all of baseball ? Why it's the Twins and the Guardians (Astros 3rd ) !! So somehow they have managed to do very well in that aspect while perhaps at the same time being much more aggressive in pursuit of LHH at the expense of the White Sox. So much fail it defies logic !
