  1. I'm real surprised they ppd that game. After all the earlier delays, I thought they'd just wait however many hours it took to get a window to make that game complete.
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) Has anyone else done the 5-day trial and canceled it? I sent an email to cancel to the listed address today but never got a confirmation back or anything. I was assuming it would be an automated thing, but I guess not. I don't know about the trial, but when I cancelled last year, before the playoffs, it took a few days to get a response. But I didn't have any problems with it, in the end.
  3. QUOTE(NCsoxfan @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 12:07 PM) Would you guys do this trade if you were me? I trade: Sizemore and Peralta I receive: Tejada and Zimmerman I play in a 5x5 league No. As knightni said, you lack speed as it is. Losing Sizemore is basically punting on steals. Zimmerman is a good player, but not much of an upgrade over Drew/Ordonez, if any. ESPECIALLY in that craptacular lineup. I think Peralta will be pretty good this year. What other ss are available, just in case?
  4. Some people are weird. Who'd he pick up? Who else does this guy have at 1b? I was in a similar situation last year -- I ended up with Pujols, Berkman, and Derrek Lee. When Lee returned (briefly) I tried trading one of the three. I was willing to gamble on Lee's health. Lucky for me, noone would give me anything close to value. I've never seen anyone do very well in trading an 'extra' player. Maybe people just know you don't want to burn the roster spot and they have you over the barrel. Related question -- someone dropped Hideki Matsui. I'm probably too far down the waiver wire to get him, but just in case, pick one to drop: Stephen Drew (backup to Tejada), Ryan Shealy (backup to Adrian Gonzalez), Scott Olsen, Chuck James, Jeremy Sowers, Dan Wheeler, Javier Vazquez. I'm leaning towards dropping Shealy.
  5. Seattle-Cleveland is pretty funny to watch. Just came back from a delay for one pitch, only to delay again now. The visibility is crap with all the snow. Wacky.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) Well they do have a retractable roof on Miller Park so I assume that game was never in jeopardy of being called. Okay, I didn't know that. As long as the Sox aren't bigger pussies than the Cubs, I can sleep tonight.
  7. QUOTE(Al Lopez @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) I used to like Harrelson, and I have nothing against a little homerism. Drysdale and Harrelson were great together in the early to mid '80's, and Paciorek and Hawk were real good too. But you need a balance between the broadcasters, and what we have now is Hawk and Hawk's number one fan, and it gets a little too much - a lot too much. The only time DJ disagrees with Hawk is if he thinks Hawk hasn't been enough of a homer. Like this: You know DJ, Bobby Jenks doing what he did in '05, that's one of the best jobs by a first year reliever I ever saw. Hawk, I disagree. It was the BEST job ever by a first year reliever. Agree with this. Same reason I loved the Rooney-Farmer team, personally. The tv team offers no discussion, it's just Hawk's world, which I'm thoroughly tired of at this point.
  8. QUOTE(Spiff @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 04:59 PM) Some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. Lol
  9. What's going on with other games? Milwaukee-Cubs still looks to be on. Seattle at Cleveland is just starting up. Beltre in short sleeves. Enjoy that.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) As a side note, one of the funny things to watch here at ST over the past few days has been this threads title Speaking of which...what the f*** happened to the filter?
  11. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 03:37 AM) No one appreciates a good limerick anymore. There once was a poet named knightni, Whose verses were taken quite lightly. How he raised a ruckus For a pat on the tuchis! Have you seen a scene so unsightly?
  12. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) Wasn't Sizemore traded to the Indians? Yes, good catch. With GP's avatar, he probably should've known that.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 12:58 PM) Konerko wasnt much when we traded for him, in fact he was a top spect who was basically thought to have been somewhat of a bust. With Cin and LA in 1998 he did absolutely jack s***. That's a big overstatement. He had a bad rookie year, but he was listed by BA as the 2nd best prospect in all of baseball going into 1998. 200-odd abs won't drop you from #2 to bust.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 05:04 PM) I didn't actually get to see the game, but his line looks good. Did he look good? I think so. Good movement on his pitches, especially the two-seam and the change. On the op, I dunno about that. It just depends on the situation. He has enough movement on it that it can be a nice pitch inside to righties when you want to get it in on their hands, you just don't want it to become predictable. Maybe he was overusing it today, but I really didn't notice that.
  15. mlb.tv problems for anyone else? I just have a blank screen. Edit: Nm, just came back.
  16. Btw, op -- please don't use thread titles like this, making it sound like it's news or some scoop. Don't dress your own personal speculation up as if it were fact.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) I'm currently watching the Rockies/D-Backs game thinking of how great Willie Taveras would look atop the White Sox lineup, the guy has legit track speed and some great instincts on the basepaths. Great end to that game. Surprisingly, it did not involve Taveras striking out.
  18. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 09:35 PM) you are damn right about that one sleepy. I will never forget the Bevington and Manual days. Those two should NEVER be in the same sentence together. Never.
  19. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) Yeah, it is pretty annoying. MLB could make money buy getting sponsors of their own and playing them during the mlbtv commercials. As long as they get enough to provide a little variety, that'd be okay. I'd prefer the local commercials, but it'd do. I take back what I said. The pong thing was better for the first 3 games or so, but now that sound is driving me f'n nuts.
  20. On another note... I was psyched about having the local commercials on mlb.tv, but the Pads-Giants game has this pong-like thing going over the commercials. It's a big improvement over hearing that same Tom Petty clip 25 times per game, but I really wish they could just leave the commercials in.
  21. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) God I always loved him. I hope he breaks out this season. His stuff is just unreal and what is he... only 21? Soon, but he's still not 21. Still just 20 years old. F'n wow.
  22. rally CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) its workin for me Thanks.
