  1. probably the same reason why my name points to the fact that I hate the cubs. I put it there because, I hate the cubs!!! :fthecubs
  2. man that would be a nice rotation, different kinds of arms too, and a decent age average for them as well. I think ozzie would have an easy time speaking spanish to most of them as well, leaving mark and jon in the dark on that one
  3. This is just a rant, as I am proclaiming my continuing hatred for the Tribune. I hate that biased piece of crap. :fthecubs
  4. Thats right Jonny, here we go, as long as Contreas doesnt throw 22fork balls in a row when he gets in a jam, im thinking we are good to go :fthecubs
  5. I wanted him last season, wouldnt mind having him next season, another lefty would be nice to put in that rotation
  6. PS: I wish we had that big payroll, cause I would give anything for renteria at short
  7. Lets hope so, but I still have a feeling it will be like last year, where we do alot of nothing
  8. and then theres the story of the past three years for ya
  9. if you would rather have that than a solid starting pitcher, than thats the sac you are going to have to make. But that is a lot of contract to give up
  10. I was using those for examples. I think its a pipe dream if anyone thinks that we are just going to buy an infield. If thats your thinking than the otherside of town is always looking for some bandwagon riders. Its going to be one of those small contract guys who will push this team over the edge
  11. no kidding, im just saying those are the types of players you are going to get to play for us. Not the multi million dollar 3b. In my opinion its always the 340,000 dollar player who makes or breaks a team, not their 30 mill guy
  12. nice, i think halter is a little old though. As far as players we can afford I would go for huff or figgins. I like figgins alot since he is a switch hitter, can steal bases and hasnt yet found his potential
  13. and somehow we are going to have the money???
  14. no gwerty, 4.5 million dollars is not a big time paycheck
  15. Alright FA experts, you keep pushing for an average third baseman with a ridiculous paycheck, whose career is in so much decline his only team is ready to ship him out of the door. I'll sit here and be realistic about it. You want a world series team?? concentrate on the players that nobody has heard about. That peter gammons, hasnt written about on ESPN.com. Because thats how small market teams win games, and championships.
  16. hahahaha, ok Cashman, now you are talking about the stats between a 340,000 player, and a 4.5 million dollar player , thats a tough comparison. Lets start doing that with every player we have. Because we all know that we have unlimited money. We are a small-market to mid market team folks. The big FA's are NOT I repeat NOT going to come here to play for a team that cant win games, and cant pay them the money. We cant just dump a lower tier player and pick up a 4.5 million dollar paycheck. We are going to be lucky if KW opens up his wallet for a big pitcher, let alone a small improvement in hitting with a 4 million dollar increase in payroll.
  17. and his slugging is worse than uribe's, not exactly a huge improvement
  18. not really, its even lower than willie's
  19. And as far as they go for being players who play the game right??? if being an almost lifetime 500 pitcher with an ERA over 4 counts as playing the game right, then we have some serious issues if we think thats the way to throw. Especially when everyone has been complaining about Garland, who is shaping up to have about the same career path. And koskie's 249 avg looks alot like most of the players we have already, including his OBP. If you can tell me how this improves our team while killing our payroll, please enlighten me :fthecubs
  20. Because I want a team, not a bunch of players. You really think that bringing some Twins in the clubhouse would boost morale??? If so, then you havent been on many teams to begin with. The last thing they need is some of the enemy in the clubhouse :fthecubs
  21. I wish you would all stop talking about Radke and Koskie, if we buy any Twins players, im boycotting the next season :fthecubs
  22. DONT LISTEN TO THEM JONNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! f*** soriano, Valdez at short is good enough for me, Garland is a solid pitcher every time out except for one bad inning everytime, as soon as he learns to bear down, he is going to be the a ground ball machine, if you all want to pick up overrated free agents, I know a team across town in blue and red that are looking for some sucker fans :fthecubs
  23. BTW, i think both could be 5th possibilities, unlike terrible arnie, and overrated Rauch, and the worst starter of all time Danny Wright. I think Grilli has a pretty nasty hook, and his fastball has some pop. As fell Felix has some good stuff, and some nice out pitches. I think they could come around :fthecubs
  24. I wish I could believe, but they are on the road for TEN!!!! Which is usually not a good thing, plus you know the twins will atleast go 500 the rest of the way. Im reserved to a life of rooting against the cubs, go ASTROS!!!!! :fthecubs
