no I mean like picking up robbie alomar, and everett. And when we got freddie, we traded our #1 minor league prospect, and our best catcher, not that I dont agree with the trade, but we coulda gotten freddie for jose valentin in the offseason

I agree entirely with this. I have been thinking about it for some time. I think that we need to stop being os loyal to a team that just wont cut it. I think we need another fresh start, pick up some prospects for our players, and build the team from within. I am sick of trying to put stopgaps in place every season. After this many attempts at band-aids, lets just start over and build it again!!! I think we have some decent minors, maybe we can get some more, and lets start becoming a real franchise, instead of a laughing stock

maybe someday, until then, i am going on KW's tendencies of picking up nobodies in the offseason, and trading for has-beens during the season

this sox team, even the core players who are good, fold like cheap suits and the end of a season. This team does not have closing ability and will never win a world series, let alone a playoff spot.

Let me get THIS straight. We dont want to go after ground ball pitchers, but we are using that as a reason to make pitchers look promising??? Get used to it folks, this is the team you are going to see back next year

Once again, this is almost a good point, except taking a good player away from the twins, usually opens the door for another good player. All they ever do is reload the team, so with radke gone, I would expect a new player to come and and establish himself as just as good if not better

I was thinking of this last night. If maggs and frank were still playing this year, and we held on to first place up until now. I still think the twins would take the division during this series. i know that alot of what-ifs, but it seems that they get stronger and we get weaker over the course of a season. I feel that if we had no injuries all year, they would still overtake us like last year in this series and take the division. This is why we need to get rid of this team and start over

I agree, I dont want him to get in the frame of mind as Neal and Adkins, keep him as a starter, make him throw strikes. I would invite him to spring training in AZ, because if a pitcher can succeed there, where the breaking balls dont break, and the fly balls sail, then we know he will be moved up by the end of the year. Wouldnt it be nice if the marlins felt so comfortable at US cellular that a few of the players decided to stay and play for the sox. I wouldnt mind Miguel Cabrera in our lineup

I understand that everyone likes PK, because I have liked him ever since we aquired him. He hits homers, is a good lockeroom guy, and always comes to play. But we have to face the facts, he isnt a very good situational hitter, hits into alot of double plays, cant leg out a single even if the shortstop broke his leg on the way to make the play. I enjoy dingers as much as the next guy, but im sick of solo shots, rallies ending on three consecutive flyouts, and not being able to move the runner over. Of the past 3 world series champs, how many of those teams led the league in home runs????

it seems to me that alot of people think PK is a situational hitter, i dont see him that way. when PK is up at bat he turns into ADP (automatic double play), you wonder why he has so many solo homers. Somehow has over 30 bombs and not yet 100 rbi's. He cant hit with runners on base, cant situational hit, and is a pull hitter. Im not sure where this imppression is coming from

Im honestly ready to rebuild this team again. The first white flag trade left us all with a sour taste in our mouths, but I'd rather do that and develop and actual team, than try to buy a bunch of washed up vets (everett, alomar). Thats why minnesota is so good, they develop players, and when they want big contracts, they replace them with the next prospect. It would make alot of us happy to see our team be made up with people we have had in the organization for more than year

they said hernia, and groin pull, will be back fully next season. And BTW it makes me mad that we have no prospects on the top 50 list, just a thought of why we cant make the playoffs
