  1. I didn't see one yet, so I thought all the draft talk could go in this thread, so it's all condensed for the mods. If I just missed a thread, this one can be deleted.
  2. The Marlins select RHP Matt Torra out of UMass. They feel they may have been able to grab him at 19, but they didn't want to take a chance and miss out on the talented starter who they feel will be an easy sign.
  3. Like someone else said, this could really put College Baseball on the map. Also, I'd buy a College Baseball game made by EA with the MVP engine a second.
  4. The Indoor soccer team is the Chicago Storm, not Chicago Thunder, just FYI. Also, WNBA has always been meh to me, but women's soccer and/or volley can pique my interest occasionally.
  5. I'm not interested because I'm in a few leagues, but to let you guys know, IMO, fictional>real. In fictional, you have a lot more room for creativity, and also, you have to get to know the players better and go by their stats and ratings, instead of their real life reputation.
  6. I haven't read any of the thread so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but did anyone notice that the kid who caught the homerun ball in the 9th was wearing a Kerry Wood jersey? Just thought that was amusing.
  7. Answer this question honestly: Do you think Frank is the best Sox player ever because he's the only on you've seen of the greats? Just curious. Also, I'll add that Jackson was much better defensively.
  8. I'd take Shoeless Joe. Kid had power (No doubt in my mind he could hit for 25-30 homers at least if he played in the modern era) and average. He hit over .400 at least once, possibly twice. I'd probably put Frank at 2, and it's close, but I'd still take Jackson.
  9. I've been to the Cell, Wrigley, and Busch. Busch was...meh. Since it's a bowl, if you sit in the wrong spot, you can't see the whole field. For example, from where our seats where (Left field UD near the foul pole) you couldn't see the Left Field corner. There was one play where the ball flew into the corner, and flew out a few moments later. Quite strange. One place I've only heard good things about is Camden Yards.
  10. Yeah, I think you need the minimum, but like he said, you could jsut donate it or something.
  11. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 31, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) 5 Carl getting picked ahead of frank in 03 had me scratching my head again. The greatest player in sox history not playing at his park's all star game. (when he was having an allstar year compared to others who got picked.) I don't think you can call Frank the greatest Sox player ever. He's up there, but not at the top. But that's another argument for another day.

    Which is sexier

Haha, that Phoebe Cates scene...I remember in the special features where the guy who played the brother (what his name? In real life it was Judge something...Nelson?) said that the actress who played Phoebe was supposed to walk into the bathroom and act surprised, so they didn't tell her what the brother would be doing. Turns out, he was masturbating with a dildo. Needless to say, it sufficed enough to get a good scare out of her. Also, in the poolroom scene, Mike Damone was also supposed to have some nudity. They cut that out to get away from an (as it was called then) "X" rating. Also, the part where Phoebe was teaching the other girl how to give a BJ in the cafeteria was originally supposed to be done with the two girls in a Hot Tub.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 30, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) Timo drives in Crede for the winning run. How f***ing unbelievable is that ending I know. The fact that Timo and Crede are mentioned in the same sentence as something good...wow.

  15. YES ! TIMO! WHAT JUST HAPPENED? TIMO! YES! TIMMMMMMMOOOOOO!
  16. ...and here's our present, our wonderful number 3 hitter, Timo Perez.
  17. More yay. More yay to the fact that he didn't screw up, not that he walked.
