  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:13 AM) Lester had crap tonight. We should probably have about 8-9 runs. Be happy mr Jordan
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:08 AM) Francona is more worried about getting Lester the win here than doing what's right, it would appear. I was goig to see that is to our advnatge and it was. Ramires doubles in two
  3. Good hitting by Beckham. I am thinking Lester will be pulled pretty soon
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 12:59 AM) And? Don't act like you thought he would perform this well. If you really believed that I'd like to hire you to be my bookie. I did and the odds are...
  5. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 31, 2011 -> 12:56 AM) Lillibridge really oughta be the starting Cf with Rios as the 4th OF How the winds of fate turn for folks like Lillibridge. There were a number of folks on this site that wanted him gone before he showed his vesatility and true grit. He is the man with "True Grit."
  6. I would like to know if Adam Dunn is watching AJP anf asking for lessons on how to hit a tough lefty, or any lefty for that matter?
  7. 1. Pierre, LF 2. Ramirez, SS 3. Quentin, DH 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Pierzynski, C 6. Rios, CF 7. Lillibridge, RF 8. Beckham, 2B 9. Morel, 3B Note Gordon is back in there. Tough kid
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2011 -> 06:57 PM) It's Memorial Day, May 30. Memorial Day is the first legit "Evaluation day" we hit during a MLB season. This team is 7 games below .500, 9.5 games back in the division. If they don't win this series, it's just about selling time. Sorry Balta, but I think 2/3rds of soxtalk folks already evaluated this team. But, I still see around all-star break as the time to start scratching our heads
  9. Bruney to help Crain and at this point Marquez to assume long relief from Pena. But, when Teahna is ready it's probably Marquez down unless Bruney can't do his job. Now some here may think more moves are coming, but unless it is Tehan traded I doubt it. The folks needing to be jump started at this point are Dunn and Rios and they aren't going anywhere. Pierre is a question mark, but has been hitting better. Maybe we trade a starter? Dougtful at this point in time though
  10. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ May 30, 2011 -> 03:46 AM) Unbelievable how the Sox have no minor league pitching help. This is a joke. They have to be the only team in baseball that can't bring one decent pitcher up from their minor leagues. Imagine how lucky the Sox have been. Many teams go through so many injuries each year that they need to pull up 4 or 5 pitchers from their minors. Amazingly, many of these teams have excellent pitching prospects that actually pitch well while they are up here and some stay! I think we have some talent pitchingwise in the minors, but they aren't ready. The situation with Gray, who was not a Sox draft, was very troubling. Harrel went four innings and gave up four runs Sunday and Jeff Gray went 4 inning with Seattle and gave up 1 run. He left here with an EA of 2.70. Pena for the most part was ineffective. So we keep Pena and let Gray go? Humber is also not a Sox farm hand, but has seemingly been able to turn things around this year. I know it takes some time to develop and we will see whether Phil can keep it up. I hgope so as he has looked very impressive so far, We have to get other teams drafts and develop them instead of developing our own players. There is something not right about that. I hope we are getting the minor league system changed around. But, once again I know it takes time
  11. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 29, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) He was a better DH for the Sox than Dunn has been so far anyway. Be patient. It will either get better or worse
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 29, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) So is everybody in agreement Oz will be fired tonight or after the Boston series? Or will it be Oz/KW both getting the pink slip tonight or after Boston? When Ozzie can take the field and hit, run, catch and pitch and fails to do those things then I will support him being fired
  13. Ozzie isn't the problem with this team. I think he is doing what needs to be done and laying it out there by calling out the players for not performing
  14. I was always a big Lilli supporter and don't want any oy you to forget that
  15. Let's win for the Ole Gipper. It would be nice to see Danks get a win
  16. I wondered why Pena wasn't used on Saturday. Pena to the DL makes sense now
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ May 28, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Ranger said Dunn wasn't pinch hit for because he's going to break out one of these days. Poor excuse, but I fully expected that from him. He can start breaking out in the 2nd inning. In that situation, pinch hitting with Quentin was the only right move. Baseball 101. Dunn will break out of it one of these days/ Question is what day. All we needed was a fly ball from him and didn't get it. Other teams know he can't hit a lefty and very unlikely to hit a righty. The man is all funked out (that's a baseball term for slump)
  18. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 28, 2011 -> 10:39 PM) Now Guillen is blasting the players and saying that he and his coaches are already "drained" and it feels like it's September already! Why oh why don't they fire his ass already???! He is trying to light a fire under THEM
  19. WGN game today had a shot of the dugout and the players around Beckham made him show his face to the camera. Pretty swollen. Might not be back for acouple games or so. At least it ain't a serious injury. Looked bad though
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 28, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) I know it was a game against Boston because my friend (Dbacks fan) said to me "This will be the demise of the Sox season. I'm telling you". And for almost 5 years, he has been right for the most part. Who is he? Nostradamus?
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) Make the decision on who to banish to the bullpen difficult, Edwin. I hope he can dominate today. He has the stuff, but of the six starters he's the one struggling ther most IMO
  22. Humber is showing us some really good potential and good numbers, but to say at this point we build around him is probably not realisitic. I remmeber when folks were clamoring to build our infield around Josh Fields
