QUOTE (rafacosta @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 12:30 AM) so ozzie thinks that manny is tired but what it looks like is that our hitters are tired and they just want to be done with tonight's game. This is what I found confusing. We are in a pennant race and get a .300 plus hitter and not use him when we only have about 30 some games to play. Every game he isn't in there puts us at risk of wasting that hitter. When aren't folks tired after flying or playing late games, but in baseball you get right back in there

El Duque available
QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) I've seen him this year. He still has that nasty curveball and still knows how to pitch. He actually hit 88 on the gun, but sat in the 85 range. Curveball is still flat out nasty. Why not. Take a run at the guy pick up his salary. That says it all right there. Our minor league guys have not be all that good when called up. Only Harrell had that one good game

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 10:39 PM) The rosters expand tomorrow and they have a strasburg sized gap in their pitching staff, why wouldnt they want to see if he had anything in the tank? They are looking at youth not a veteran player in their minor league system plus they probably would have to pay him some real money considering they would be adding him to the major league roster-but that's just my guess

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) a guy who couldnt get the callup from the nationals? Im sorry, pass Why would the Nats want to call him up? They aren't going anywhere and wouldn't have a need for the Duke

Here's an idea
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) I dunno...there were plenty of pitches in the 9th yesterday that absolutely sailed. I can't believe he didn't throw a WP with 2 outs and the runner on 3rd, he threw one over AJ's head and then the next one 3 feet outside and AJ had to jump to save both of them. Yep- no control and his pitches weren't breaking sharply at all

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 11:26 AM) Does anyone know what is the status of JJ Putz? Can come off DL on September 9th Thornton eligible on Friday - no word about whether he can pitch or not on that date though

Here's an idea
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) "It's not Bobby's fault," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "Our bullpen has to step it up a notch." I was abit confused by his statement were you too? I thought Bobby was the leader of the bullpen?

Here's an idea
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 04:15 AM) Santos will not be the closer this season. Ozzie has ZERO confidence in him due to the infamous "wall" he believes Santos has hit. Santos has struggled as of late and that's becasue of inexperience and his first full year as a pitcher. Sales in just out of college and doesn't even have a full year in professional baseball. To suggest either is ready for the closers role is a bit out there as far as I am concerned. "Bring on the hate" is really not proper either. It is reality and reality is neither is ready for the closers role. They are performing well in their roles and have a tremendous upside. Jenks blew it last night but Ozzie says don't blame Bobby as he has pitched a lot of inning lately. Maybe so, but this is when the big boys step up and perform. I was very happy to see Linebrink do well last night. We are a bit taxed right now and it does seem it is just our relievers taking turns getting bombed and blowing games. But hopefully they right the ship and we make our push to top the Twins with all cylinders firing

Edwin Jackson just needs to keep doing what he has been doing. It would be great to see him get another 10 strikeout plus game to make it three in a row

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:13 AM) Brent Lillibridge definitely made up his error in the 9th. Yes sir. You have to feel good for that kid

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:36 AM) I'd go with "soreness". The Ole Hawkeroo said he was day to day as the MRI or x rays were negative-no broken bones

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!
QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:22 AM) He shouldn't get any credit. If it wasn't for his horrible throw there may not have been a need for extras. He redeemed himself in a big way. Jenks didn't need any help to try and give the game away and besides AJ was telling Lilli to go to first

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Per Cowley: As far as the dreads, KW said he talked to a coach on the staff and "from my understanding [Manny] will make an adjustment.'' He will stuff them into his cap
