QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 06:19 AM) You know what's depressing when you put it in perspective? In the course of a single day, we exiled two former 1st rounds picks off the roster, so we could keep a 30-year old journeyman OF with all the future-potential of a blind-mans' basketball career after suffering a broken wrist. . I hear you

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) Cool! This is the first year in about 5 years I didn't shell out for Extra Innings package and tried to go with radio feeds only. Nice to catch a game on teevee once in a while. I miss getting all the games on Extra Innings and keep threatening to buy the second half at the reduced rate. And then the Sox cough up a bunch of games and I put my wallet away again. I haven't bought that Extra Inigs package either, but a couple weeks agoi there was a free weekend preview, but of course th game I saw the Sox lost

Brian Anderson traded to Red Sox for Mark Kotsay
elrockinMT replied to Jimmywins1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2009 -> 07:13 PM) And yet if the roles were reversed and we brought in Jenks to face Casilla for the last out he'd probably get a base hit. It's too bad but your probably not wrong on that call. Plus we would have lost the game -
So long Josh is all I can say here
-
I kind of shake my head a bit over the issue of giving CQ a rest-maybe what we need is CQ to start hitting the ball and that will give us some insurance. Kotsay for Anderson is not the answer for anything in my book

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:16 AM) great win, with a great AB by Beckham and Alexei to hit it hard. Thorton with a great job too. I wonder what's up with Dotel, either Ozzie has lost faith in him, he's hurt or the Sox have him involved in trade talks. or it just wasn't the right spot
-
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:01 AM) Nice spot-start by Torres. Not overwhelmingly awesome, but he kept us in the game. And big ups to Thornton for the two-inning save. The Rays announcers are such whiners. They wouldn't shut up about the missed 3rd strike call on Alexei, as if they were the only ones who've been getting screwed by poor calls this series. But, in that case it really was a ball
-
What's the problem with Jenks? That's what I want to know about it. Pithces with no movement or lack of control or lack of confidence in his heat. Could be all three I reckon. But, whatever it is he needs to start showinhg some confidence in bringing that 97 MPH plus fastball at the hitter. You cringe everytime Jenks lets that first batter on and inside you just know he is going to blow it. I hope that we aren't seeing a rebirth of Billy Koch.

QUOTE (bobryansson @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:49 AM) I'm incredibly frusrated with Jenks, but the post above noting the 0'fer from our big bats was right. Wasted offensive opportunities are just as bad. Pods bunts fly to pitcher!? Bases left loaded with horrible AB's? Unacceptable. And that was all too consistently happending too and now we are back to it. Our bottom of the order guys are doing better than our big boppers as far as as gettig the job done consistently -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:47 AM) We officially have the best "on paper only" bullpen in the league. These guys constantly put the team in danger of losing late. One can't argue the fact either -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:44 AM) Do what? He barely escaped three blown saves in the last 10 games. At least my man love for J. Werth can continue to make tonight not just horrible. Iwant to know what Jenk's problem is and not hear a tirade from Ozzie about how he is the manager and it was just a lucky hit blah blah. We can't afford to give up leads and wins in the 9th. That's what our closer is for to shut down the opposition/ Other teams seem to be able to beat us in the 9th -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:42 AM) Thanks Jenks. Our ace closer with an RA over 4 and has looked terrible for the last several outings. Of course our sluggers going 0-12 didn't help either -
