  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 06:26 PM) haven't seen senor splitty from count yet Go to it when you need it I guess. Good two innings-very sharp
  2. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) great inning for cont It always seems that first inning is so important for Jose and it sets the tone for his game
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) Gameday's avg fastball for Contraras = 89.4 after pitches of 89, 90, and 90. Great math. See him hitting 92-93 to Maggs
  4. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) Paulie with a great pick. I think PK is underrated as a defender
  5. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 05:07 PM) That sucked.... I seem to remember this being the same issue in the past. Failure to situational hit with a runner in scoring position and less than 2 outs. All we needed was a fly ball or at least something to bring that runner home
  6. Stick with the game plan in place. How many position switches should we make? Maybe Konerko could play CF?
  7. I just want us to win. I sure do like watching Jon Danks pitch though. I think that game might be on WGN, but not sure (WED)
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) If Makowiak, Griffey, Everett, and Swisher could play CF for Ozzie then so will Pods. And he did
  9. I am glad we didn't trade those two guys
  10. Nothing wrong with Pods. Not my first choice, bit cheaper than trying to trade for someone I guess. He can run and he hits better than Owens and takes more walks. He is just a fill in and I trust that Brian will play the bulk of the duties in CF
  11. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 02:21 AM) Exactly. Would Brian Anderson pass through waivers? I don't think so. No, your right, Brian would be claimed in a heart beat
  12. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) Can he play CF?? Delwyn Young Designated By Tim Dierkes [April 13 at 4:32pm CST] According to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick, Dodgers outfielder Delwyn Young was designated for assignment today. They'll have ten days to trade, release, or waive him. Young is out of options. Young, 26, hit .246/.321/.341 last year at Triple A but .337/.384/.571 in '07. He dealt with a strained oblique last year and began this season with an elbow issue. Tony Jackson of the L.A. Daily News suggested yesterday that the Indians, Pirates, and Phillies were eyeing Young. Injury issues
  13. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 10:57 PM) and tell ya something why not get edmonds I hadn't thought of that, but if Jerry doesn;t pan out Jim Edmonds is an option for sure and he's a lefty. Maybe we can swing a trade and get Melky Cabrera or Swisher back from NY
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 08:47 PM) You need a 4th outfielder and Owens has MLB experience. Getting called up does not guarantee that he's the starter. I imagine he's going to play too much, but just keep expectations tampered. This is what I would say also. BA deserves the bulk of the starts and JO the sub
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) Maybe BA takes this opportunity and runs with it. Last year, Owens got hurt and it was a blessing for the Sox. Hopefully, deja vu. BA has the talent he just needs to put it all out there
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) It strikes me that a separated shoulder isn't just 15 days or so. I could be wrong. I would just say 15 day DL list and figure longer?
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) I really don't like Wise, but yeah, he didn't deserve to go out like that. I second that. Although once he was on the roster I felt obligated to support him being on the team but thought BA should satrt. However, he made a real good good play to help the team
  18. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 07:56 PM) wait, what? I didnt know he got injured. Running play way back intpo CF and the Tiger announcer said he dove and caught it. Highlight reel. but he landed on his shoulder
  19. ALexei needs to quick swinging at everything out of the strike zone. He isn't looking good early
  20. 15 day DL most likely. Sure have to hand it to D Wisw for an all out play. He gave it up for the team
  21. QUOTE (Ron @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 07:26 PM) DJ snaked out of that jam. I am tempted to join the call for DJ Carrasco to be replaced, but then you think of last year and the fat we have a veteran p[icther that knows how to battle. Is he just struggling to find his groove or is it stripped?
  22. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) didn't you see him go 0-fer yesterday? he's done for the season. correction: 1-3, still. not good enough. correcton again: 1-4. definitely not good enough. what the f*** is that? That was his first start. Wise only has two singles in 5 games/4 starts. Brian is 2 for 4 lifetime against Blackburn and Wise is 0-5. Saying that and knowing that's limited exposure I wish Wise the best of luck. I really think what we need is Brian's defense and Wise be the 4th OF'er
  23. QUOTE (Cochise @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 12:42 AM) Yeah seriously, the regional coverage sucks. The Sox have 9 games on Fox Saturdays this year and I think only 2 or maybe 3 are with West Coast teams so that sucks for us West Coast Sox fans. Last year we received West coast coverage most of the time here in the Rocky Mountain West. Maybe we'll be lucky this year and get those Sox games
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) I am guessing Mark Buerhle will be at top form today. He has something to prove after opening day
