  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) That s*** screamed right past me. Sounds of the game. Wonderful stuff
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 11:49 PM) Damn. Hawk just actually said something to the extent of "if he stays like this, Thome can hit .290 with 40 homers and 119 batted in." God what a homer, but I love him. 119 RBI's? The ole Hakeroo likes round numbers don't he?
  3. An opposite field homer by Thome is what I am talking about!
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 11:40 PM) Gordon Beckham in the minors is sure to light a fire under his ass. Even if Beckham won't be up for months. Last night Gordon k'd three times, grounded into a DP and committed an error. He needs more seasoning-preferably hot sauce. I have no idea what that means by the way
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 11:37 PM) CQ just hit the hardest foul ball I've ever seen. Sounded off the bat like a firework. ATTENTION SOXTALK CREW There was a recent post about Quentin being awesome, however, may I point out he is only hitting .500 with runners in scoring position in this game. Shame on him
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 12:19 AM) Danks earned that pickoff Danks and Buerhle---who is the best at pick offs?
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 12:08 AM) im at the game, holy s*** my seats are awesome. If you arer at camden Yards you are one lucky guy. My awesome seats are in front of a TV when we get a televised game
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) Hawk: "when we got to be ballpark yesterday everything looked good; we had Jose going for us they had the rookie Bergeson making his major league debut for them but then everything went bad." Seriously? Did anyone actually expect us to win yesterday? I thought that was by far the worst matchup of the series, I didn't think we had a chance. If you go on history you are 100% correct. Soft tossing newbies we haven't seen before make this team look real bad
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 04:45 AM) Might as well root for him to turn it around, because there's no way KW or Ozzie will pull him from the rotation unless he's injured. I am rooting for him, but it seems he can make it to the 4th or 5th inning and then folds. If he is still regaining strength and form I don't think he should be allowed to go real long into the game especially when he satrts to show signs of tiring. It's along season. But, the middle relief seems inconsistent too.
  10. Egbert and Richard didn't look any better than McDougal did before. Richard seems to be good one game and bad the next. Besides the releif corp Jose can only last 4 or 5 innings before he blows. And may be more puzzling is why he is allowed to if the argument is made that he is building strength. What's up with that?
  11. I went to the team site and reviewed the stats and I now see that McD gives up both a lot of hits and walks while DJ just gives up a lot of hits. I wish MacDougal the best wheter he goes to the Charlotte pen or is claimed by someone else. However, I bet there is someone out there ready to give him a chance to get his head on straight.
  12. Can Jack lead off? Personally I thought Carrasco was doing worse then McD
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) I'm sure its been discussed, but I'm also sure they would rather that Beckham put in some significant time in them minors before going all the way to the majors. And again, let's just TRY to give Anderson a real shot here, since he's been pretty darn good since he took over as a starter. How many different "ideas" have we seen in the past week or two for CF? Wise on his return, Owens, Lillibridge, Alexei/Beckham move, etc. If in mid-May Anderson is hitting for crap, and Wise is back from the DL, then maybe it makes sense to revisit things. Brian deserve it and Ozzie supposedly has patience, but Brian is doing ok in my opinion
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 21, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) Go get 'em Jose. I'd like to see Jose C get his first win
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 21, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) So I was going to go to this game but because my wife has other arrangements she made recently, I have to stick around so I can pick up my stepdaughter from her basketball game. The real question is, should I divorce my wife for hindering my ability to attend a Sox game? I would have divorced my old ball and chain a long time ago becasue she has turned my grand daughter into a Red Sox fan, but... I am afraid of her and she makes pretty good money
  16. Seems Lili is a singles hiter and with not too many of those at this point. I see him as a utility man like he is now
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) I still haven't been to Washington. Must do soon. To Do List: • Washington It is fun to see D.C.. I have been there several times and there is alot of stuff there like it's historical or something
  18. Maybe they can cut out a piece of the rug with the Presidential seal on it for me as a souvenier
  19. Patience it a virtue in life and baseball. We must expect a resurgence from those who are stuggling
  20. I didn't know that baseball could be on the same level sexually as viagra
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 06:51 PM) Lillibridge is a high caliber MLB base runner...and an average AA hitter. Tend to agree with you
  22. I am trying to keep up with the game on XM satelite
  23. Floyd didn't panic and looked good with 2K's to end the inning
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 06:37 PM) Gross....Getz takes a called 3rd right down the plate, and then Lillibridge swings at a 58 footer on the 3-2 count. I don't care that he walked a few times the other day...batting Lillibridge 2nd against a RHP is just stupid. He seems overmatched at this level. But, then again we have Alexei struggling too. Players off to bad starts or is Lilli not ready to play at this level with the bat?
