  1. Did Olivo start it cause he got an owie from being hit?
  2. Didn't know there was a fight. Maybe it will get their juices flowing again
  3. I am not sure there are many more ways we can help the opposition score runs. We get singled to death, allow ther SB, walk batters, give up homers to candy type hitters, can't field, picther hits a bater with the sacks full etc etc. Anymore ways we can do it?
  4. DJ is trying to be cute or doesn't have any control. You just have to picth to the batter when the bases are juiced
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) Twins will cruise through Seattle and Oakland. Not so certain. Oakland might actually give them a run for their money. Similar make ups you know
  6. This will be another complete blow out and maybe even our 10th time being shut out real soon here
  7. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Hawk is so good he has 18 good holes and 0 bad holes You don't even have to ask him to talk about himself he does that without any urging
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) My brother says the exact same thing. He said it about two weeks ago, and after watching for it closely, I can see that both of you are right. He needs to be a bit more patient, even with the success he's had this year. I have noticed that some pitchers have caught on to the fact he swings at the first pitch. So they throw balls outside or curves and he either misses or fouls those off. He just needs to keep in mind that big league pitchers make adjustmetns and he has to do that also
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) So in a 6 run game, the Royals have tried to steal 3rd base and now a bunt? Maybe Ozzie will show some balls and drill a KC hitter. I was just going to comment on that fact. They must really want to make the Sox look bad. Of course the Sox don't need any help right now
  10. Greinke has the sinking action working today. Know what suprised me about this inning? Alexei took the first pitch. It was a strike, but he usually swings at the first one
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) If we just completely tank over the next month, KW should really try to pass Dotel through waivers. I don't see him as the problem do you?
  12. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) You know what makes seeing Richard get rocked so bad? The Twins have 3 rookies in their rotation. We can't ever get 1 of ours to just be a 5th stater. They continue to develop good young players and as you said we have to trade for other teams talent
  13. Game Day on MLB must already be writing the Sox off. The single by Swisher was first listed as an out. I guess they just figured what the heck?
  14. My guess is Ozzie leaves Richard in for the third and when questioned about it the "F bomb" will fly
  15. He gives up the homer too. Insult to injury and we are down 5-0 with a pitching staff that looks like a bunch of little league players right now. What are they doing playing T-ball?
  16. My suggestion to Ozzie Guillen, and mind you it's only a suggestion, is to yank Richard now and use the heck out of the bullpen, which has a day off tomorrow to rest up
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) This is definitely an important game, I think both for the whitesox. a successful roadtrip(still 1st) and possibly for Richard. I would imagine if he gets rocked around in the 4th/5th inning this will be his last start regardless of Contreras health. Also first time i posted a game thread Well he is starting to get rocked around and it's only the second inning
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 12:09 AM) PK looked fantastic today, and Thome has been very consistent lately (in that he's been great). I am hoping too that PK is breaking out of that slump. If he is he needs to be playing on a consistent basis.
  19. I checked the Charlotte Observer and Crede was scratched from Saturdays game becasue of twinges in his back. Expected to satrt today and so does Contreras. Here is the story: Knights/Baseball News Local News Education Politics Nation World Weird News Special Reports Obituaries Blogs/Columnists En Español Sports Minor League Baseball Comments (0) | Recommend (0) Knights sloppy in defeat Durham takes advantage as error-wracked squad boots the basics in front of home crowd. By Keith Cannon Special Correspondent Posted: Sunday, Aug. 03, 2008 FORT MILL The Charlotte Knights couldn't master the most basic of baseball skills Saturday night. “You're not going to win if you can't catch and throw the ball,” Knights manager Marc Bombard said after an ugly 8-2 loss in front of 8,101 fans at Knights Stadium. Three Charlotte errors played a role in half of Durham's runs as the Knights (52-63) lost their third straight. “You can't give any team, especially a team as good as them, five or six outs in an inning,” Bombard said. “If you do you'll have a long night. We gave ourselves a tough mountain to climb.” It would have been tough enough without the fielding mistakes as the International League South Division leading Bulls (61-54) pounded out 13 hits, led by 4-for-5 nights by Ben Zobrist and Justin Ruggiano. Charlotte pitchers also walked seven batters. Durham led 5-0 after two innings, scoring two runs in the first on what should have been a routine fielder's choice. By the time the Knights put their first run on the scoreboard in the fifth, on Jerry Owens' bases-loaded RBI single, Durham held a 7-1 lead. Former Knights infielder Joe Crede, on a rehab assignment from the Chicago White Sox, was scratched from the starting lineup shortly before game time. Knights officials said Crede felt twinges in his back during pre-game warm-ups. He's expected to play today. NOTES: White Sox right-handed pitcher Jose Contreras makes a major league rehab start for the Knights at 5:15 this afternoon in the final game of the home stand. Scheduled to start for Durham is right-hander Jeff Niemann (7-5, 3.53).
  20. Miracles have happened before and if Richard is going to be abig league pitcher it's a game where he needs to show it. We can't be counting on a four inning pitcher to be a saviour. We'll see I guess. I hope he can step up and deliver. We need the win to salvage the road trip and take us home on a good note.
  21. Good for Fields to be patient as we need runners. He gets the walk
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) This pen is a shell of its former self. I can't believe this is the same group that Joe Morgan was raving about
  23. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 2, 2008 -> 11:39 PM) Matt Thornton bringing the heat And Olivo sent it the otehr way in a hurry. For crying out loud
