  1. I'll be watching on ESPN-HD Sunday Night Baseball. I'll wave at you all. I have to like the fact Contreras is pitching. He has bene locked in for awhile now. Hope the offsne can dial it up enough to put a few runs on the board.
  2. The way this line up is performing they should all bat in the 9th spot.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 6, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) Here's a special stat. From A ball through the Majors, this organization is hitting a whopping .236. We need Walt Hriniak back
  4. I am hoping we get the win on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. I'll be watching so wave to me if your at the game.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) No, they just started on a maple bat diatribe. I bet Hawkeroo is telling them how they didn't have maple bats or even broken bats back in his days.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 24, 2008 -> 03:44 AM) Also, I want to say, Ozzie made a gutsy call sending Wise and regardless of whether the outcome it was a great call. Against someone like Frankie, you must do what you can to ensure you can tie things up with as few hits as possible and the stolen base would have put the Sox a single away. They sure had the chance to win this thing, or at least tie it, in the 9th didn't they?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2008 -> 03:32 AM) It's disappointing that we have 3 players in PK, Thome, and Swisher who shock us all when they do something productive. I was thinking the same thing. Thome has a good at bat every great once in awhile, but it's K's and groundouts almost all the time. Swish just keeps getting deeper in that hole as does PK. I can't believe these guys and how pathetic they look at bat. Carlton Fisk said that there is no aggressiveness being shown at all.
  8. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 23, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) You can get a defensive OF. But if we can get a 2b capable of leading off, it eliminates a two huge holes. Not at all anti-Brian, but at least philosophically one has to agree w/ that. If you are harboring any ideas that Brian Roberts is coming here I think those rumors have ben put to rest. We won't be trading for him and most likely no one else either. What the quotes from the article on Uribe going to the DL failed to mention is that Richar is now on a rehab assignment to Charlotte. You might see him here by the end of June
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 23, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) I doubt it. They were probably just sick of carrying 24 players, calling up Wise gives Ozzie a lefty bat off the bench who can also run a little. This should have no real effect on Anderson. You're reading too much into this. Amen brother. Brian Anderson is the best defensive outfielder we have and has proven that he should be with the club.
  10. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ May 23, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) It's gonna be real cold, but I don't think there is any rain in the forcast. Hasn't rained here all day... all systems a go for #9 and to go Saunders on that azz! You don't know what cold is
  11. I'll be watching for you on WGN. Good luck
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 23, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) Nothing like another outfielder. Maybe we can give PK a few days off and put Swish at first now? With they way they both are hitting maybe both should be resting?
  13. I think Babe Ruth was on juice too. But, it was cactus juice.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2008 -> 05:04 PM) Cough, Josh Fields, cough. Do I hear retching or is that a cold? Fields for Figgins maybe? Don't think so though
  15. Figgins is a thirdbaseman I believe. I don't see the rationale for a trade other than KW won't sign Crede, but that doesn't mean any other team getting him can sign him either. The Angels give up 2 extra years with Figgins for part of the year guaranteed with Crede. We give up defense and power and clutch for a speedy guy. I like our team the way it is now and I like Crede.
  16. Bad plays by Swisher and maybe Konerko? I have been hearing analysts claim our defense has failed our pitchers more than once this year.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2008 -> 01:24 AM) I have no idea. But if he's hitting .220 while he's in there because of that hand, then at least some extra rest seems in order and he's not getting it. If this were 05 and our backup 1b was Timo I could understand keeping PK in there even if he's hurting, but come on, Swish can play 1b and we have a solid young backup OF who could use the playing time. I tend to agree with you. Swisher can play 1B and Anderson in CF while Paulie gets rested.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2008 -> 01:22 AM) It really bothers me that PK is supposedly hurting a fair amount and he hasn't even gotten a measly extra off-day in nearly 3 weeks now. Do you think a trip to the DL is in order? The hand injury seems to be lingering
  19. QUOTE (G&T @ May 22, 2008 -> 01:20 AM) I thought the Cell was contoured to keep the ball fair. But I guess that changed. That was for the go-go sox days I believe
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 21, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) I can't imagine the Angels doing a Crede for Figgins move, but if the Sox could somehow sweeten the pot and make it happen I'd be all about it. I think this is another smoke screen is all.
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 21, 2008 -> 02:11 AM) Crap I put some dough on the Indians and cubs tonight. Guy that I gave my tix to tonight took his kid and the Thome home run was right where my season seats are. Good for them. Bulls need to make a blockbuster trade as they have the pieces now to do something. Man why couldn't they have gotten the pick last year. I think the pressure I Rose would be huge. They also do not need to get any younger. You bet against the Sox?
  22. Quentin and Thome with homers! Just logged in and happy to see that. Maybe Thome is coming out of that slump? Sure hope so
  23. I voted and all I can tell you now is I had beter not receive any sales calls at my home.
  24. I'll never forget that game vrs the Yankmees when Pudge tagged out two Yanks on the same play at home plate as they both tried to score. One was Dale Berra and other I forget his name. The Pudge was standing there after the two tags and daring another one to try him.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) See, here's the thing. It's not always a bad thing to be "Stuck with a west coast game" when your team is playing the Angels. I stand corrected. But, I ain't seen it yet.
