  1. QUOTE (letsgoarow @ May 7, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) Looking good!!! I like this new lineup! John Krunk on BBTN didn't like it when we lost 1-0. But then he is such a rascal isn't he?
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 7, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) Buzz Bissinger? I don't know Buzz personally, but he sounds kind of fishy
  3. A blog is nothing more than personal garbage with no basis in truth or anything more than one's opinion or aplace to start a rumor. I don't see any reaper knocking on the door other than Russell went back down and Ramirez reinstated. We all knew that was planned anyway.
  4. All I know is it's better to be a winner than a loser
  5. Owens might be headed for Chitown and Ramirez goes down, but maybe Ozuna is gone too. Russell will be going down to Charlotte I am pretty sure. Tomorrow I will be travelling by car and should be able to listen on XM radio
  6. We'll get them tomorrow is the eternal battle cry we need to adopt
  7. There are many wild speculative ideas out there. How do you trade 12 or more underperforming position players in one day?

    RISP

I believe we are still in this battle. The Central is underperforming so far this season and is simply too good to continue this slide and that means the Sox also. We are now getting the chances to score and it will be just a matter of time before they snap out of it
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 5, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) Shakin' up the lineup. Me likey putting Cab at leadoff (he's just starting to look comfortable at the plate), CW 2nd and Swisher in an RBI slot. Very nice. And against righties, Thome should stay right where he is. Me likey? Did I meet you in Hue City about 1968?
  10. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ May 5, 2008 -> 07:30 PM) Hawk was a great General Manager, therefore any subsequent managerial advice given by him must be correct. yes, he was And you can say that again
  11. QUOTE (the People's Champ @ May 5, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) Farmer was complaining about the call at third, in the same inning as well. Said that on the lineout Crede got back to the bag before the runner but the ump still called the runner safe. Anyone see that play? I was surprised that Hawk wasn't saying anything about that play if Farmer was saying it was a blown call. The play was close, but the WGN replay seemed to indicate the runner was safe. There was plenty of complaining about that play at 2B though
  12. I think interference must be seen and ruled on as intentional but remeber OC did get the throw to first base in plenty of time so other than the ump not seeing a tag at 2nd base nothing was affected.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) I really like the Sun Times article where he says the Sox are Chicago's b****. I thought that was pretty good too. I chuckled a bit I admit
  14. Granted Ozzie Guillen is not politically correct, but I like him becasue he stands up to what I see is uninformed and in many cases unwarranrted criticism and supports his players. He does call lack of hustle and faith in their potential for what it is and calls out his players on it. But, this is along season and you will go through rough spots. This is one of them, but we are only a game and a half out. We could be three out like the Tigers. The team sticks together and hopefully they will catch a break and or make one soon. We will all be happy again when that happens. Yesterdays game was in my opinion the last indignity that a struggling team should have to suffer. We won that game except for that blown call. But, one could argue that even after the blown call it was up to the team to pull out of it. We almost did with two outs and a 3-2 pitch... Anyway tonight could be the turning point when we win.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) We only had one inning where we had a base hit (should have been an error in the 8th). Are you talking about our scoring inning where we had more than 1 hit or just an ining period? I think I know what yuo are saying and if so I can't argue that our offense isn't doing great, but Halladay is one tough cookie on the mound.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2008 -> 06:55 PM) Ugh, Hawk's going to blame this game on the umpiring now. I blamed it on the umpiring
  17. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) Well, I don't know what to say to that. You think AJP is a winning baseball player and Thome isn't. Um...wow. Their both professionals and winners in my mind
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 4, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) I'll be watching on WGN today. The games have gone pretty well for the Sox when I am sitting behind the tube. So I am feeling good about today. We actually won this game that we lost. Tomorrow will be better
  19. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) depressing being a Sox fan right now, hard to muster up the optimism that anything we're seeing is temporary. Was supposed to be the season where OC and Swish injected hustle and aggression into the lineup, if that's gone already after a month of baseball, unlikely it's going to just reappear. So disappointing to see Konerko turn out to be truly a flash in the pan, I for one have accepted that what we're seeing now is his ceiling....either that or he needs a new home to make him remember how to hit a fastball, or go opposite field on a curve. Can't blame mgmt for believing this 3-4-5 could not, possibly, have another corpselike season, given their veteran history of production, but now they have to face the truth and offload no matter what. We are 29 games into a 162 game schedule. We should have won the game today. You can't blame the team or any one player for this loss
  20. I'll be watching on WGN today. The games have gone pretty well for the Sox when I am sitting behind the tube. So I am feeling good about today.
  21. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) Ozzie just said it, all those guys dont need coaching, they need to start hitting. Right on. A few well timed hits can bring this team around. Nothing like a grand slam at the right time to start us on a winning streak. You always hear that hitting is contagious, well I would like to see this group of hitters coe down with the flu, or at least a cough.
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) Sure because the corpseball kids will have the best thing for their bats to get going, a good dose of Doc Halladay. We might just do better when they have to hunker down and strap it on or whatever
  23. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) ow id I could only spell lol .. i type to fast sometimes. Mee Two
