QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) Hopefully it's not the gut that thought Dotel vs Abreu was a good match-up. You are correct sir! -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Only Ozzie would play Ozuna against a righty instead of a lefty. Do you think it's that gut feeling again? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) If PK doesn't bobble that, it's a double play (I know Millar was running, but he's slow as hell). The opposition is getting well placed hits because they're using the whole field. OK. I stand corrected. I can't see action with gameday. I am waiitng for tonight on WGN -

QUOTE (chisoxfan79 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:40 PM) This was going on with Gary Ward too, and if they did fire Walker all that they would do is promote the AAA hitting coach I want Walt Hriniak back -

Oioles played situational hitting there with Huff grounding to the right side to advance the runner. But, the runner is on a with a soft single to left. I sure am tired of these soft hit or just wel placed hits from the opposition. Makes you wonder sometims if it's not defensive placement at fault? -

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) Who else thinks nothing will change until Kenny, Ozzie, and/or Walk are gone? I don't see why I should expect anything different. The offense has been sliding the last couple years. We can hit the bomb, but not for average. Hall might now be over the Mendoza line, as least for one more at bat, but we have several under the line and some other closing down fast -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) Cabrera continues to make way too many soft outs on first pitches. In an ideal offense, he'd be the #9 hitter. Plain and simple, this offense isn't good enough to compete this season, especially with Ozzie calling the shots. But, they are convinced he is the perfect #2 guy -

Am I reading MLB Gameday right that Ramirez was caught both stealing and picked off 1B? Or was that one in the same play? -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:28 PM) What a cock tease when we thought that he was getting released at the end of ST. They called him into the office with Kenny and Ozzie, and he obviously using his Jedi Mind trick convinced Ozzie and Kenny that he is ready to go. Why does management have such a crush on Hall? Does the guy even have an extra base hit with this team? -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) Anderson doesn't play enough to be considered on the roster. I'd be down for Owens over Alexei, but I don't trust that Owens would be used correctly. I have to agree that talent aside Alexei Ramirez needs more time in the minors to lern to hit the curve and lay off outside pitches. Owens should replace him on the roster -
QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) My conspiracy theory: With Masset pitching today and Buehrle being skipped... The next time that they need a 5th SP/BP guy, they'll retroactively DL Buehrle and bring up Broadway for a few days. The Black Helicopters are landing now at ole Comiskey

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Consider this his farewell tour. If we look towards the future and not just "we want to win this year", which of course I know we all do, Joe Crede should be signed and we should keep Fields for either 1B or DH.
-
I wish people would stop trying to rain on the winners parade. I saw the game on WGN and Quentin and Crede and Jenks delivered. We won... end of story.

The Black Cat That Ran Into the Yankees Dugout

After two games at the cell I can only assume that the black cat is a good luck symbol for the Yankmees. -
No Bottled Water allowed in the UCF Dugouts?
elrockinMT replied to Linnwood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe water is banned too? I don't drink Gatorade in any of its numerous flavors so as an American I protest another attempt by corporate sponsorship to overrule the US Constitution. -
I'll hopefully be watching on WGN tonight and staying dry

White Sox vs. Yankees, 4/23, 7:11, ESPN
elrockinMT replied to RME JICO's topic in 2008 Season in Review
Mussina is an off speed type pitcher and could give the Sox trouble, but if they are patient somewhere around the 6th inning he could get poundced because the Sox hitters will be more patient with him. He should be good for giving up 4 or 5 runs. I'll be watching on ESPN. I'll wave at you all. -
Our bullpen blew the game. They blew it in Tampa and now in Chicago. The occuraence is all to reminiscent of last year. Dotel has not delivered & Thornton didn't do his job either. They gave up two homers and seven runs. Pathetic.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 01:33 AM) He's a career hitter in the .270 range. Didin't we have this same conversation like a few games ok? It's deja vu all over again. -

What is it with Cabrear and his hitting approach anyway. Isn't this a guy with .300 av last year? -

22 picthes thrown in the 1st, but the Count only gave up 1 run. I'll take it over 2 or 3 -

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 01:14 AM) Yanks are duck snorting all over the place here. I hate it when the ducks use drugs -
It's ok folks. To each is own and let him or her celebrate in their own way. However, about a fourth of that poem would have been fine with me.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 21, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) How perfect would he be on this ballclub right now. Let him do more of the free swinging he did in Japan out of the 9 hole? Seriously, he'd look damn good. I liked Iguchi
