  1. Apparently the defense showed up today!! Tell Me more people I love the hear the game story
  2. I see that Gameday shows Floyd giving up the leadoff walk and then a steal. Why can't these guys just get the ball over the plate?
  3. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 04:58 AM) it was 2008, i think april, and jose contreras was scheduled to go up against some no name cuban with the twinkies, and I was going to sit down and enjoy joe crede hitting for the cycle and alexei ramirez constantly running around the bases. and then bam, storm, game post poned. Ever since i haven't been the same. I feel for you, even if no one else does. Did you get wet?
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Even though it resulted in a Sox player being pummelled, I have to vote for Ventura's charge on Nolan Ryan. Ditto! I think he still has a few knotss on his head from that one
  5. They are supposed to be on WGN on Sunday. Hope the weather is good then Added this after I checked the weather for Chitown: 44 degrees and Cloudy for Sunday
  6. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 10, 2008 -> 05:00 PM) Who was the first guy to have this surgery? Some guy named Tommy John or something like that Didin't they make a movie about him or something
  7. I reported this yesterday... I just had to say that My guess is we probably won't be seeing Sisco again. Too bad for the kid
  8. Too early to be thinking of a Detroit fade this year. But, they do have suspect pitching
  9. Andrew Sisco having "tommy john" surgery?
  10. I'll be listening for you guys on XM radio tonight
  11. ESPN still thinks it's the Yankees and Red Sox in the World Series so stats don't mean much. B)
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) The trivia Q was about the home opener. Kong played 3B in the home opener. It shouldn't have been

  14. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) I know you may all be suprised by this, but that means Wikipedia is wrong! They have Craig Wilson listed as opening day starter at 3B! And I'm not sure why I thought Herbert Perry was our 3B then...but I did. The Milkman was good that year-real good. I still can remember Hawk Harrleson saying, "the milkman delivers."
  15. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) My biggest concern with Fields is his strikeouts. 125 k's in 373 AB's with only 35 BB's. Crede or Ventura never came close to that ratio. I have no problem letting him get more AB's in AAA. Now the problem will arise if Crede shows no signs of back problems all year and continues to produce. Do you even attempt to re-sign Crede or do the Sox automatically give the job to Josh next season? If you sign Crede, does Josh become a trading chip or do you look at him maybe at 1B? Sign Crede and learn Fields the 1B position. That has been my posiiton. We are trading away our own talent and signing other peoples at what most of the time turns out to be the same amount of money. I just can't fathom our ownership saying Booras is such a problem for the Sox that we don't negotiate contarcts with him.
  16. A patch on the shoulder would be fitting I think
  17. Linebrink seems to be wanting to give it back this inning
  18. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 11:34 PM) I know the Fields posts are kind of misplaced, but people took a lot of free shots at Crede in ST, so it's time for some to face up to their words. He had a great '06 and then got hurt. Followed by an onslaught of doubt. I cant help wonder if SF is calling now and upping the ante. Probably too early for that. But I wonder how KW would negotiate continued winning and the need to fill still remaining holes. EDIT: yea, more misplaced stuff. i kno. I don't disagree, but Fields should be learning to play firstbase and we need to sign Crede
  19. Linebrink then comes in a walks the first guy he faces. We need the pen to shut them down flat. Come on bullpen. They should all be rested after that win last night.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) Just thought I'd add, that through the celebration, all of you Trade Crede/Josh Fields homos can eat it. Joe is 6 for his last nine at bats
  21. I have been struggling all day to listen to XM when I had the chance and I just got to a computer to check MLB game day stats just as my hero Joe Crede slams the big one. I love that Joe Crede--- but not in that way--not that there's anything wrong with that mind you
  22. Folks are right to say here on this site that racial issues don't enter into basebball lineups or team makeups and shouldn't. It's ashame people use the anunymity of an e-mail or other blogging site to spew ignorance. I like the makeup of the team and feel the players that are there earned the right to be there.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 03:07 AM) I also can't stress how nice it was to get a solid W and not have to use the "Big 3" in Dotel-Linebrink-Jenks. If you can use maybe two of them tomorrow, then have the off day Tuesday, you are in real nice shape for the rest of the week. What I liked too was from McDougal. He didn't crack in the 9th and satrt giving up big hits. The guy kept battling and won
  24. This was a great game to watch on ESP2HD. five double plays turned by the Sox squished them Tigers
  25. I remember buying a beer in August 1987 at Old Comiskey for $2.50. I can buy a beer at the minor league park in Billings today for $3.50 and it would be a Widmer or something similar. What's the beer in Chicago today?
