  1. We will probably hear tomorrow about how cold it was and it was hard to get a good grip, etc, but the Tribe's picthers probbaly have hotter hand or something. But, I am not ready to give in yet. Possibly the offesne will mount a rally.
  2. This could get ugly real quick in this game. But, I think we are ctaching up to Carmona so hang tough guys
  3. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:47 AM) Juan uribe.... major league baseball player.... ... technically Let's not get scientific now.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:46 AM) If KW could do it all over, and was intent on signing Dye during last season, should have been Dye in LF, Anderson in CF, and Quentin in RF. Where would Swisher play? I like your OF picks though
  5. QUOTE(almagest @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) Yeah, see, the difference is, Uribe does this ALL the time. Thome is a HOF-caliber player, and Ramirez is a rookie who is pretty obviously overmatched at this point. Sure. But, Uribe is no different than that Ozzie Guillen guy who played for us. He swung at everything too. It's early in the season and Uribe can sure enough provide some punch at times.
  6. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:44 AM) Sizemore kills a pitch from a ChiSox pitcher, where have I seen this before? It's a true bad dream. Vazquez throws a slider that doesn't slide and Sizemore takes advantage again
  7. Settle down on Uribe. he will get his butt kicked in the dugout I hope. Ramirez the so called Cuban missle keeps swinging away and Thome grounded into 2 DP's. Let's trade them all.
  8. Get rid of that hitting coach today! B) Actually not letting Carmona get himself into trouble is the problem. If he is wild take some pitches and wait till he has to groove one. If he gets his control back he can be one tough cookie.
  9. QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) i can't believe "bengals" threw that many people for the ole loop. Must be new fans to baseball. Gather round children and let me tell you some stories of Shoeless Joe, etc, etc
  10. See you out of Chicago folks on the TV Sunday Night game of the week on ESPN
  11. Yes. We need to get back on game track. Let's rock them double hard.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) I've been debating whether or not I should say something here. But I'm going to. Knightni, I understand the spirit behind your thread title. They are the Cleveland Indians, and we don't like these guys. I got it. But, considering what smallpox laden blankets did the native American population, this thread title does not meet the standards that I've come to expect here at Soxtalk. I really think the Soxtalk powers that be should give this some thought. Okay, I'm done. I've had my say. Politically correct always wins in this day and age. Plus it's just plain right in this case
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) Very good Knight, well played sir. I must echo DBAHO's comments so here goes: Very-Very-Veeerrry Gooooddddd Knight-Knight-Knightttttt Is that close enough to an echo? Better story though if we decided to sign Barry Bonds too
  14. QUOTE(Shadows @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) Dotel doesn't deserve any blame Its Buehrle who is the reason we lost, not the umpires and not Dotel.. our "Ace" sucked, plain and simple 1.2 IP 7 ER from our #1 that is why we lost No argument there
  15. QUOTE(Vance Law @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 11:38 PM) He's lost every single game he's played for us. Every single game. He's almost as bad as Sabathia. Worthless. that's what i want to know about it
  16. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) Hi8is, you avatar is trippy and makes me feel good. It makes me forget Dotel and Buehrle pitching today. I can't forget the fact we paid $5.5M a yr to a guy that comes in and blows the game. It's just like we experienced last year, but at a cheaper price. Otherwise the offense seemed to produce other than not scoriung with zero out and sacks full in the eighth. One psot mentioned controversy and since I don't have TV I don't know what that is in refrence to.
  17. What happened to Mark? He looked so good in Az. Why did we sign him to a long term contract?
  18. Still liivng in a City where I can't get Sox TV all the time---check! No Sox game today on WGN or ESPN ... check! Maybe I can listen on XM Radio... check! 32 degrees here and snowing ... yuck check!
  19. Massett gets the job becasue he is out of options?! Well, maybe he can turn it around, but hopefully not at ther expense of us losing ground on the Tigers and Indians.
  20. It won't have any affect on the roster
  21. After Massetts struggle this spring I don't see how there isd any real choice to make.
  22. It is amazing how we see two different people. Joe is getting his timing back after being out almost a full season. There are others performing in ST at as low an average as Joe. There is absolutely no reason to criticize or minimize Joe Crede. I hope we do sign him and move Fields to IB or LF
  23. QUOTE(The Beast @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) I just don't see why Crede is considered the better third baseman on the team by Kenny's standards. It doesn't make sense to me one bit. Go home Beast
  24. I have to think Massett is pitching himself out of contention. I am real glad to see that Brian Anderson made the roster. He has taken advantage of the opportunity that presented itself to him.
