That Was a Good Game... The Positive Postgame Thread

Featured Replies

Really it was. We showed a ton of heart out there and really had a lot of positive things happen.

- Masset was lights out

- Logan looked nice with a 1-2-3 inning vs. the Indians two best lefties

- Dye had 3 hits and a HR

- Thome with a huge day vs. a tough LHP

- OCab and Swish showed a lot of grit and determination

We fought our way back and stayed in it the whole way through. Bad start by Mark and the loss set aside - we played great.

Also, this will help bring the team together. We really came together and played as one unit and I'm sure it will light a fire under their a*s!

I won't lie, it was a great game to watch. Controversy is always entertaining. I hope this is the return of our offense.

Giving up 10 runs is unacceptable by Buehrle and Dotel, but it's hard to blame the team itself for the loss. They did what was necessary to win the game and had it taken away by poor employee performance. Maybe it will be different this year, we probably just quit after it gets to 7-2 in a game like this last year.

You know what? This team looked like they wanted the win badly, and when they lost, they were not happy. Last season it almost looked as if they didnt care win or lose, this team looks to have alot of fight in it. I think we come back next game and hand it to them.

Oh, and who doesnt need a long reliever?

Hi8is, you avatar is trippy and makes me feel good. It makes me forget Dotel and Buehrle pitching today.

Good post. There were a lot of positives to take from today's game if you get past the obvious. Massett really looked good today, in a game where two aces got their asses kicked all over the field. This team also showed a lot of moxie by manning up and getting back into a game that they would have quit on in the past.

Overall I am Happy with the Game. 8 runs when it could have been 11-12 is pretty sweet. Not to mention against The Cy Young Winner.

Another positive thought: We do not have Eric Gagne in our bullpen.

Actually, I keep saying "There's no place like home" and hope I can return to 2005.

I had a blast -- despite the outcome, they made a game of it. I am worried about Ramirez though. Ozzie has a boner and i think it's a tad premature...

Good game. Without the umps' B.S., the Sox probably win, despite MB giving up 7 in the 2nd.

Kudos:

--Nick Masset looked great. Impressive.

--Offense in general did very well.

--Defense looked mostly good - though I only saw parts of the game.

--Masset, Logan, Thornton... bullpen looking pretty good, other than Dotel

--How about the Sox hitting the lefty hard?

--And how about our hitters actually going oppo field?

The loss hurts, but, if you're going to lose, that wasn't a bad way to do it.

Huh? I was complementing this years team and ripping last years. We lost because of the umpiries, that's not me ripping on any our players. And I'm not sure how you argue against 2 pitchers giving up 10 runs while recording 8 outs being bad. Buehrle will be fine I think though.

At least the cubs blew a comeback too. That's my positive out of this.

Well, there was a lot to be ticked off about, but there were plenty of positives. Thome of course and how about Masset?! Nick allowed us to be able to claw back into the game and whenever we lose but have the tying run at the plate, all can't be bad. I'm not all that upset, and hey the Cubs lost, so did the Tigers...yay!!!

That was very impressive. Thome hitting CC was very impressive.

Opening day losses hurt, but there are definitely a lot of positives to take out of this game.

I can't forget the fact we paid $5.5M a yr to a guy that comes in and blows the game. It's just like we experienced last year, but at a cheaper price. Otherwise the offense seemed to produce other than not scoriung with zero out and sacks full in the eighth. One psot mentioned controversy and since I don't have TV I don't know what that is in refrence to.

If you see the highlights, you will know.

Using all fields, advancing a runner, stealing a base, getting hits off a lefty, actually giving it your all to come back in a game until the final out. Even as AJP got walked in the 9th, he yelled something to Joe to get him going. Thats what we need. Players on the top step going crazy when the ump blew the call. I like it. We keep up that energy and we win alot of games this year.

That was a nice change of pace and great to see.
