  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 12, 2008 -> 06:18 PM) I agree. The fact that opponents are hitting .311 against him is bulls***. I hope that outburst the other night is a sign of him turning it around. He has pitched well enough to win a game or two that he lost, but he is giving up alot more hits than usual. I believe that will get you in trouble eventually. I luv it when I analyze.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 12, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) Adenhart is the Angels top pitching prospect, but has been nothing special thus far. Look for him to have his breakout performance tonight, because the White Sox have not yet seen him. Yep! Happens everytime and if it happens this time we will read all the same tired excuses tomorrow in the paper. But, let's be positive about this. Buerhle is charged up and will be dominating
  3. Konerko ain't looking so hot either and when is the last time he had a good game or hit a homer? Thome is almost a K machine anymore. I know slumps happen to everyone, but these two are making it worse than it has to be. Floyd was mediocre today. Too many baserunners and losing hitter with 2 strikes on them. Just wasn't a good performabce highlighted by the Sox unable to get the big hits again
  4. I see veteran lefty reliever Ray King signed with Charlotte
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) I think we all want to see the fastball more. He was bringing in last night. I have been thinking this same thing for awhile. It seemed to me from my limited ability to watch games that Jenks was falling in love with the curveball too much. I wanted to see the return of the big heater. If in fact it was a freak homer that's one thing, but still never a good thing.
  6. I will be able to watch the game today on the Fox Sports-Rocky Mountain. It's the Mariners announcers, but it's still the Sox. You have to take the bad with the good I guess. I am loking forward to seeing Floyd pitch
  7. I saw the game on WGN. Nice win and it was real excviting to see Anderson and the effort he gave on that fly ball and diving attempt. The kid gave it his all. Plus he gets the big homer and Quentin looked good too. Team played good ball.
  8. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ May 9, 2008 -> 04:26 AM) Is there video anywhere of Buehrle going nuts on the space heater? I missed it... I want to see that too
  9. Maybe the Sox have cooled on the Jerry Owens thing for awhile. He is fighting abig slump at AAA. I was thinking the same thing though about Ramirez and Ozuna. They both fill the same role, but Ramirez I still think needs more seasoning and should be playing at AAA. Maybe Jim Edmonds should be signed?
  10. Thanks for trying the help, but when I checked on this the guy said "NO!"
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2008 -> 05:42 AM) So it took all of 28 career games for you to deem DeWitt as good or better defensively than Joe Crede? Are you talking just for this season? You have to come with a little more when making a crazy claim like that. Crede is one of the best defensively in the game. You hear that even from the prejudiced ESPN announcers.
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:10 AM) Damnit. If Kenny was at all looking to trade Crede, he might be holding off now. I still think we need to trade Crede somewhere. I cant imagine his value being any higher than it is now. The longer we wait, the closer to a FA he becomes and less interest. I think he may have been looking to trade Fields
  13. Tonight I get to watch the game on WGN. I was supposed to be in Seattle this weekend to watch the Sox in person, but my wife spent all my money. What's a guy to do?
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 10, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) JC had all kinds of love for BA in the dugout after the inning was over. He hugged him gently and closely. (Just want to make you BA lover's envious ). Kumbyyah and we are family!
  15. Always nice to win a game. But, I don't like the fact our ace closer gave up a run and a homer at that. Meaningless or not when you bring in the big gun you want to see him shut down the other team completely. I did not get to see that game so I don't know the situation or the pitch sele3ction all that stuff, but I never like to see the opposing team get a score off the bullpen.
  16. I have the chance to watch a couple games of the Seattle series. WGN has the game on Saturday night and Sunday it's on FOXRocky Mountain, which carries Seattle games in my area. I hate the Seattle announcers though
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 8, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) I was at the game. He didn't get many chances, so its hard to say, but he looked a little tenative. Crede grabbed at least one grounder in front of him. He looked terrible at the plate. Huge windmill swing, resulting in unintentional bunts. He needs to go to AAA. I always remember how KW and Ozzie in yeasr past said that when a player was with the big club he was supposed to know how to play and be ready. The bigs they said was no place to learn. Ramirez is still learning and why he hasn't been sent down is beyond me.
  18. Swisher is agood player and he is slumping like 2/3 of the sox hitters. But, it's time for him to kick it into gear. Do something for crying out loud
  19. Me either. I had to leave my desk and watching MLB game day as the Sox were trailing 1-0. I like the 4 shut out innings by the bullpen. Dye and Uribe with homers, but I want to know more about Jim Thome and stolen base!
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 8, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) Darnit, 1 out walk to Harris These walks will bite us eventually in these close games
  21. I have to say that even after Tuesday's masterpiece by Floyd and 7 runs I was unsure if we were at a point of saying we turned things around. I think the approach was better, but you like a couple or three winning games with offense to say we made it. Wed was horrible all the way around and today we have the pitching again, but of course zero offense.
  22. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ May 8, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) I can't believe how pathetic this offense is. We f***ing suck!! It is amazing how many batting practice pitchers we face that we make look like Cy Young and Sandy Koufax all rolled into one
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2008 -> 07:36 PM) Having both Ozuna and Ramirez on the bench is killing the bench. Except when they are in the line up and then they are killing the line up along with a few others
  24. Quentin doubles with one out. Our two big boppers come up and both K. How many times has Konerko and Thome struck out this year with runners in scoring posiiton? Slumps, bad spells, curses on the bats - all that aside you would think at some point a professional hitter wil make adjustments to start trying to come out of that slump. I know all the lines and the realities and other argumetns, etc, that are made in the defense of a hitter, but I am just saying...
  25. QUOTE (heirdog @ May 6, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) Why not just get rid of Walker and insert a guy that could actually hit... Baines. He can now have the role of 1B coach, Guillen controller and hitting coach. I'm not sure if hitting coach requires a special talent (i.e. good basketball players not always good basketball coaches) but it seems logical that Baines who was a great hitter and had a good approach at the plate could tell these guys what he sees and how to possibly fix it. Quick fix...in season, no big changes. I luv Baines, but the hitting coach must be a teacher. I am not sure Harold says anything so how can he teach? Other than that little problem we are good to go
