  1. The Mark Johnson with Brewers is the ex-Sox catcher. Jeff Liefer also ex-Sox with Brewers.
  2. Koch not able to locate fastball well. Hit was off a curve ball that bater just put bat on ball. Called 3rd strike by Koch for last out. 3 straight strikes to that batter.
  3. Comment about Sox not playing well on the road this Spring. Count 2-2 with Koch still pitching. Basehit and run scores. Throw off line. 6-2 Mil.
  4. Announcers commenting on Koch's fastball being about 97 MPH. Brewesr just steal 2B now with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Leading 4-2. Sac Fly to LF Mil 5-2
  5. Koch throws 97 MPH fastbal for a strike, but then gives up a run scoring single on next pitch
  6. Is Mark Johnson © with the Brewers? Koch walks a batter. Runners on 1st and 3rd
  7. Liefer strikes out on a nasty slider. Wild Pitch now sends runner to 3rd. Infield in now with 1 out
  8. He has my head spinning around and around
  9. Hall steals 2B without a throw
  10. Hall lines single past 1B (Gload) who dived for the ball without success. Announcers say Koch has been outstanding this Spring.
  11. Billy Koch now pitching for the Sox
  12. Gload flies out to CF. 7 1/2 complete with Bew Crew leading 3-2
  13. Anderson on 3rd and Gload up. 2 outs.
  14. Valentin flied out, Sweeney lined out to 2B and Anderson now up and hits a triple to the wall
  15. Jeff Liefer must be playing for the Brewers this year. Just heard he was playing 1B for the Milwaukee. These announcers don't know much about the players. They commented that Jose Valentin was a speed demon for the Sox? What??? Jose does have two hits today.
  16. Just turned on the MLB radio game when Joe Crede hit a two-run game tying homer in the 6th. The announccers said it was off a building in back of the stadium. It was well over 368 feet according to them. Shingo came in a gave up three hits around 1 strike out and the Brewers went ahead. Shingo was taken out. Whoever relieved Takatsu got the last two outs. Jeremy Reed made a nice running catch for the last out of the inning.
  17. I agree with the Quickman. Grilli sucks and so does Bullard. Bullard there is a reason for it but Grilli might have blown his chances to make the team. ST or not it is not a pretty game by the pitchers.
  18. Rausch should have made the team as long relief/starter. The Sox must want Rausch as a starter, but you don't put a guy out there that gets worse every outing like that Grilled di.
  19. Willie is being given every chance to make it as the regular 2Bman, but I don't know what his problem is. He can field and shows the range, which might be better than Robbie Alomar's(at least at this point in Alomar's career ) and he has the speed to be a real threat on the bases. However, that piece of wood he holds in his hand when at the plate doesn't seem to be a baseball bat. Maybe that's his problem?
  20. I think Joe Crede reminds me more of Bill Melton then Robin Ventura, but I think he has the potential to be as good as either of them and that's a good thing.
  21. Is it because the black baseball players are such good all-around athletes that their skills put them in the field rather than concentrating on just pitching? I mean what else could be the reason there aren't more black pitchers? I don't buy into the prejudice stuff nor do I see any mention of that, but these articles kind of steer you in that direction. I do agree with KW and others that baseball should spend more time and money trying to encourage inner city youth to play baseball, but don't stop there, how about the Indian Reservations, rural America, etc? I am serious here folks. If kids are involved in sports they learn much about team work, fair play and all that plus it keeps them out of trouble. The one's that generally make it to the big show are the one's that receive college scholarships from High School and otherwise are from more middle class and well to do areas of the country. Baseball could save a kid(s) here and should do more to be involved. Maybe these sports writers can help also?
  22. I think that you may be correct. The stars told me so... Jarry Manual
  23. Jr. can swing the bat left handed, but I think we would end up being saddled with an injury prone high priced star, who most likely played half a season for us healthy.
  24. You got to think positive dude! I am sorry, but I always wanted to use that line from Platoon. Really can't agree with your analysis on anyone at this time. Some have struggled, but there is a reason for the less than stellar outings. Garland and Wright and Koch have all done well. Harris is stepping up in the field and the basepaths, but granted that bat ain't too hot. Big Hurt is the man!
  25. My money is on Rausch. I agree that Scoenneweis is just nt showing us he can be a starter. Maybe it's just too early, but I would like to see Jon given the chance. Move Wright up to #4 starter and Rausch #5.
