  1. Here we go. Gordon walks the lead off man on 4 pitches
  2. Everett is out for #3. Gordon on fro the top of the ninth. Tribe with a PH. I am a little concerned about Flash giving up 2 hits last inning. I hope he can just air it out in the 9th
  3. Alright Carlos Lee. Lee takes an outside pitch to right field fr a single instead of overswinging. Good job CLee! Carlos then shows why everyone thinks he's stupid rather than just aggressive and he gets thrown out stretching it from a hit to the 2nd out.
  4. Maggs leads off the bottom of the 8th after his great throw, but K's on high hard ones.
  5. WOW! Maggs guns down Bradley at home after Ludwick doubles. We still lead 4-3 into the bottom 8th. Come on Sox we need some runs!!
  6. Flash can go two easily as long as he doesn't throw too many pitches in this iining
  7. That Bradley is a good hitter, but was it a texas leaguer?
  8. Flash didn't waste any time with Gerut! 3 strikes and a K
  9. Did Blake hit one to deep center for the out? Was it as bad as it appeared?
  10. What's this POP UP stuff with a runner on 2nd?
  11. I'd like us to keep Alomar. Everett and Colon next year. I am not a fan of this rent-a-player for a year stuff. If we are committed to winning let's have them all season long.
  12. White is going great. 24 pitches tonight and 4 K's. Do we know if there is anyone warming up or might he just go 3 tonight?
  13. I see Paul Konerko was out on a liner to RF. Good to see him going the other way even if it was an out.
  14. Yes, Mike went five full innings and left with the lead
  15. I stand corrected! No better place than to get Sox updates from Sox fans. I would think our bullpen is well rested tonight since Loaiza pitched that great game on Sunday.
  16. Rick White was bringing it. 2 K's in the 6th.
  17. Thanks! Gameday showed Porzio still pitching
  18. Just signed on to check out MLB Gameday and SoxNet. I see Porzio still in and gives up a hit to a .147 hitter Ludwick. Maybe he's running out of gas since it's into the 6th. How has Porzio looked today?

    Koch

If you are right in your thoughts on the matter, let's hope that Jerry Manuel doesn't make the same mistake he made with Foulke. I don't doubt that Koch is a battler and wants to do his best, etc, etc but the bottom line is he is not doing the job for whatever reason. I am still not convinced it's NOT an injury. On the other hand Foulke is a 2003 all-star pitcher and recovered from whatever his first half of 2002 problems were. Hopefully Koch will also recover in the 2nd half.
  20. Can't hit the curve and is fooled by the off speed stuff.
  21. I think Graffy will get two starts a week minimum (1 at SS and one at 2B and/or 3B) will subsitute in the mid to late innings and PH. He is very valuable in that role.
  22. That's what I meant in my POST. I agree we have limited success against pitchers we haven't seen before, but we had seen Ledezma for 5 innings. It is a wonder teams just don't bring up their AAA staffs to face us. However, I think it is the approach to hitting against a newbie that is the problem. Our people all tend to swing for te fences and look bad on some bad pitches.
  23. There supposedly is still talk between the Chisox and the RedBirds about JD Drew?
  24. Porzio showed in Charlotte that he can be effective for 5-6 innings. He didn't do poorly at all in his last start. I don't see him as the answer to our 5th starter question though. I think he can be a good lefty out of the pen and a relief starter. Hopefully Wright, Rausch or Cotts step up soon. I would think it most likely wil be Wright back up, Sanders down and Porzio in Sanders spot in the pen. If out hitters keep performing I think Porzio will get a W
