  1. Those women get you in trouble every time.
  2. Who wouldn't want Magglio on their team? That was an awfully expensive and expansive wish list the Padres quoted there. I never saw anything about Maggs saying he wanted to go to San Diego though.
  3. It's all in the wrist action and keeping your eyes on the ball.
  4. Heh, I love you gals, but sometimes you might not get the right information. It happens! Just like Kenny W being canned. It doesn't mean we can't be friends.
  5. If I recall corrrectly, the Sox thought they had a deal done for Ortiz. I can't remember what held it up. If it was just that Atlanta came in and made a stronger offer or if it was something else. It was reported that the deal was as good as done until the braves offered Damian Moss..... so Gammons was right on that one... just things changed real quick. You are right. The trade was ready to be signed off on and done.
  6. I don't see us needing Weaver either. We have 5 decent starters and more in the minors if we needed to bring somebody up. I could see Alomar, but not for Cotts or any other top prospect.
  7. People keep bringing up a degenerative him condition and Konerko in the same breath. There is NO hip problem according to baseball insiders and Konerko himself has said there is NO hip condition.
  8. Esteban had a bad inning or two. It can happen. The offesne almost pulled him through it especially Jose Valentin who looks like he is "en fuego." Let's not panic just because ELo lost a game. He wasn't going to win his next 30 in a row.
  9. Magglio Ordonez for 6-30 against the Twinks
  10. Let's hope they don't start parting with our top prospects in any trde they make. I don't think Alomar is worth a top prospect, at this point in his career anyway, nor would I give up a top minor league player for Weaver. I think the Yankees want a relief pitcher, or someone young & ready to step up as relief pitcher. I think the Mets want to pull the wool over someone's eyes and get a couple young prospects for a falling star. I am not saying that Roberto Alomar won't become rejuvanated on a pennat contender and especially playing with his brother, but it might be for only part of a season and then he's gone. Maybe if we just offer to pick up his contract?
  11. I would like to see PK on the disabled list even though I know he won't like it. Use the shoulder as the reason. Paulie is trying hard and you have to feel for him. I know he can still produce and he will. If he is on the DL until after the all-star break it might give him a chance to get in more batting practice, work with Walker and CLEAR HIS HEAD. He needs to have a fresh approach and get some hits to fall in for him. Can you see his first homerun after what he has gone through and what that will do for him and ther Sox?
  12. What we need is Garland to continue pitching to his potential and especially Wright to do so. Wright is the concern for me because he needs to show he can start the game by putting down the opposing team and not give up first inning runs. He then needs to get past the 5th or 6th inning and pitch well into at least the 7th so the bullpen can take over and shut the door. I didn't see our pitching matchups so I can only assume Buerhle pitches game 3? MB is going to give you a quality satrt no doubt in my mind. Being in Comiskey and not the baggie dome should help our team also.
  13. I like Rick White and happy to see he is coming around and producing. It is a good bullpen with Koch (when he is on his game), Marte, Gordon and now White. White said some nice things about Glover, who along with Sanders is kind of forgotten. Wunsch will be back soon and I think Sanders should go down for regular work. I saw recently that manuel wants 12 pitchers, but I don't see why since our starters take us deep most all the time. That's why Sanders and Glover don't get any regular work.
  14. I think 2nd base is the spot we need to strengthen now. Harris, although speedy and talented is not hitting and shows no sign of being a hitter yet. I don't see Jimenez as the answer either and am losing faith and patience with him. I see him as a super sub just like Graffy is used. Alomar might be a great fellow, but is on the downside of his career so if we did go after him we shouldn't give up any young talent. I think Roberto is batting about .260 with 2 homers. Heck, D'Lo is batting better than that powerwise anyway. I like Miles and the reports we get on him. He is aggressive and brings spark to a line up. As far as walks taken are concerned think about Ozzie Guillen.
  15. Agree that he hung in there. You can't ask for more other than a HIT.
  16. Alomar and Harris not the answer. Why wasn't there a PH for one of them? Harris might be able to run, but he is outmatched so far at the big league level.
  17. Way to go Aaron Rowand. A base hit. Didn't try to do to much with it. We need runners now. One more and we have a chance to tie.
  18. I don't think Baker is taking chances today. Another pitching change.
  19. I don't see PH for Valentin with a guy who isn't any better. Graffy didn't do it.
  20. Wll, here we go to the ninth, but I think our weakest hitters are up. If we can get some people on and not try and do to much we can get to Wood. He has ahigh pitch count now. Maybe the Cubs will relieve him in the 9th?>
  21. I am getting to like Rick White more all the time. I think he can be a big help in the pen.
  22. Harris with a bases loaded POP UP! We ahve too many hitters not able to hit their weight.
  23. It's quite obvious Rios was not the answer to Olivo. Played the L-R percentages and it didn't work again.
  24. Bases loaded after Rowand walks, but Olivo is upo\p and I think he is overmatched by good hard piches.
