QUOTE (rafacosta @ May 29, 2008 -> 06:06 PM) Rays' commentator mad at the ump... Also said if Konerko doesn't drop the relay the runner's dead at 3rd.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 28, 2008 -> 05:06 PM) I was looking at the indians MLB board, I think its funny that they are of the opinion that the Umps gave us all the breaks in this series. I would say the exact opposite, it was clear their pitchers were given a wider plate than ours. They are also complaining that Alexei never touched home on the sac fly, I think the replay showed pretty clearly that his hand touched it. How quickly they forget the first series we played....

FutureSox 2008 MLB Draft Discussion
QUOTE (jenks45monster @ May 26, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) Assuming Hosmer is gone by #8, and Smoak, Alonso, and Wallace aren't, I'd have to go with Smoak. He seems like the most complete player out of the group. Smoak is a great switch-hitting power-hitter that many compare to Mark Teixeira. Also has Gold Glove caliber D. Also, Wallace isn't called "The Walrus" but some scouts for no reason. The kid has a massive body. That pic is from last year. He did lose quite a bit of weight because he knew he was going to 3rd. It'll be interesting to see how he does once the regionals start and if they advance...because he had a HORRENDOUS CWS last year. Something like 1-24. I wouldn't be against taking Wallace...but he's about 3 or 4 down on my list. He is in line though to win his 2nd consecutive Triple Crown in the Pac10 this year...a pretty impressive feat IMO. Actually I think his numbers would have been better if Murphy wouldn't have dicked around batting him leadoff for probably the first 15-20 games. He took off after getting moved back to 3.

I hope Ozzie called the press box and had Joe's error changed.

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Bad decision to pitch to him but good job getting him out. I don't think they were going to give him anything good to hit. An unintentional intentional.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) put on vmart I'm not a big fan of putting on the go-ahead run intentionally. Plus...VMart has been hitting better this year from the right side according to the Indian announcers (who I actually like).

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:22 PM) probably not too bad, he was able to shake it off and run to home, but he could be day to day. Didn't look like he was shaking it off to me. I hoping it's just a cramp or something...but he was holding his hammy...not good. He went straight to the clubhouse with Herm.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:21 PM) What did Dye do? Or did they walk him to face Thome? Dye looked at strike 3. Thome flys to center to end the inning.

Draft Question
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2008 -> 05:41 PM) I don't buy into Wallace being a 3rd baseman, despite him playing a good chunk of this season over there. That's because he's really not. He basically played there so Ike Davis and Roling could play 1st with the outfield they currently have. He'll be a 1B at the next level IMO.

ASU repeats as outright Pac 10 champs. 1st time since 81-82' I believe. Wallace cranked out #20 yesterday.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Crede didn't take a big swing, but the ball jumped off of his bat. I don't think anyone catches that. I disagree. Hit the bottom of the wall....I think he just misplayed it.
