  1. Wikipedia doesn't f*** around....has Garcia as: Avisail Antonio García (born June 12, 1991) is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball.
  2. think all this movement in the AL by contenders puts some pressure on Texas to make a deal (please god Rios)
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:14 PM) Carlos Quentin got pulled from their game tonight. No idea if he's injured or traded. he got injured while being traded...
  4. would have rather had Castellanos if we were hitting up Motown...
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) I like it. Our org has a good track record at developing pitching. I'd rather we get raw arms then raw bats by and large. We have better odds at converting the raw arms, imo. this is ultimately the bright spot for me...
  6. QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) Anyone still baffled how Detroit gave up Garcia AND a pitcher for just Iglesias? I'm still baffled how AZ couldn't top this offer?!?!? Must have been the money Towers was demanding due to their weak-ass/fickled attendance... f*** off Towers....
  7. I hope the Dbags get the f*** beat outta them every single game the rest of the year!
  8. alright...screw this for a while. I'm gonna go spend the next couple hours with Billy Chapel on Showtime.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:58 PM) I think what we're seeing is that Kennedy can turn into some caliber of prospect(s) for the D'Backs so they don't want to just throw him into a deal for us when they can get actual value for him from someone else. In this case, they're going to turn that value into something we want (prospects) yeah...I can see that. I'd still take him tho...
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) We probably don't want Kennedy at the expense of prospects that's not the point...it's a plus add-in. why do you think they're trying to move him...peavy's spot + money. Watching him pitch right now saying "i'd take him...." Just seems to make more sense....
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:48 PM) Owings or Davidson PLUS Holmberg would be fine. Throw in another decent prospect and call it a deal. Honestly don't know why they wouldn't just include Kennedy in the Peavy deal and toss back Lindy...
  12. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:23 PM) The conspiracist in me says MLB didn't want any trades announced today, preferring to save them for the show tomorrow. ya know...I buy that theory.
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 07:08 PM) I'd prefer to deal with St Louis. Sox were too tight with Az and too many deals turned out unfavorable for us. depends on the return. Personally I'd rather have a SS like Owings and a 3B Davidson then say Wong and Adams or Martinez. I'm fine either way...but prefer AZ.
  14. perfect time for STL getting swept. Still rather deal with Dbags (losing 2-0 already)...
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 06:35 PM) With Ian Kennedy going ahead with his start tonight, it lowers the chance of a Peavy trade to the D'backs in my opinion. nah...nobody cares if Kennedy pitches tonight.
  16. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 05:22 PM) I'd be surprised. Konerko looks like he's mailed it in and is just counting down the days until retirement. That's what surprises me. How he can go from somebody pushing a .400 before ASG last year to now...don't get it unless it's some sort of injury.
  17. QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:31 PM) Do they have anything good to offer? I'd take the Sanchez kid who's a catcher off their hands....
  18. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) John Gambadoro ‏@Gambo620 7m Again hearing its extremely unlikely the Dbacks will trade for Jake Peavy. not sure how reliable this guy is but he does have 13.4K followers on twitter meh...sports radio guy here who's been wrong many O times.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:03 PM) Seriously who cares about what they do at WSI? this
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) Honestly, we might almost be better without Kennedy. All he would do is take up innings that should go to Rienzo/Johnson for the rest of this year, and probably next as well. Of course, if Cooper likes him... personally I think Kennedy could be a valuable chip to have in your possession.
  21. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) A's are back in on Peavy according to Slusser. I really don't want to have anything to do with dealing with the A's...eff Beane.
  22. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) It's hard to gauge the value of Kennedy and Kubel. Kennedy isn't a free agent until '16 so he might be more valuable than we think. At the same time he's going into arbitration years. Kubel is a FA...and Kennedy only makes $4.2M and is arb eligible this winter for two years (and he's not gonna get a very big jump with the year he's having ). It'd be silly not to take him if the Dbacks wanted to throw him in IMO...
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Not concerned about Skaggs? I'm not all that enamored with Skaggs. He's a young lefty with good upside...but like I said...if it meant not getting Davidson...no thanks.
  24. Olney throwing Tyler Skaggs name into the pot now too. If that meant excluding either Owings or Davidson...no thanks.
