  1. First 20 minutes has been pretty good IMO. The whole 3rd person or was it 3rd and 4th person?...between Ken and Hawk was kinda weird tho. It'll be a sad day when Hawk's not in the booth tho...
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) Every time I get bored with Hawk, all I need to do is listen to most of the rest of professional team announcers out there. God they are just awful. ^ this. And I have an extremely hard time even watching the Dbacks now anymore out here due to Brenly. But there are some awful announcers out there...
  3. He just looks like an entirely different person...from a mental standpoint. Not the "deer in the headlights" look you'd see the first few years. I think it definitely clicked on for Gordo.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 02:01 PM) LOL the bullpen charge was my favorite. Let's jog out there and stand with our hands on our hips! HAHAAA....I hear ya! They were like "fuuuuck....I gotta get up for this crap"...and it was the laziest jog ever. classic
  5. DAMN PHEG!!! Dude reminds me of Q up there... Hardly knew ya Tyler Flowers!!!
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 07:02 PM) It's the 21st century. Do they really need to have a "closed door" meeting? There are so many means of communication to get your point across, it's not like addressing a whole team. Not to get all deep...but that's a HUGE issue with today's society...disassociation and lack of interpersonal skills. So I'm all for closed door meetings...
  7. So when we're contending...we lose to the absolute s*** teams. And when we suck...we thump the contenders and first place teams. Go figure...
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 12:20 AM) A huge part of managing the cap is doing the other parts of general management well. For instance, getting cheap production from your drafts -- see Saad, Brandon and Shaw, Andrew. You'll always be looking great in terms of cap space if you can habitually let guys walk when they first reach free agency and replace them with rookie contract guys. who are worth a crap. Fortunately they've filled the gap with these guys. Looking forward to seeing what Pirri can do...it's his time. Same with Ben Smith and Hayes...seems they do a great job filling the holes. Like when Buff left...
  9. lol...some of you guys and your stats. HMCHHB.... that's "How Many Chicks Has He Banged" for you keeping score at home...
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 08:43 PM) Can't get excited about Gordon until he hits for some power. Getting hot with slap singles isn't going to impress me. If he could become a good player, though...what a lift that would be for our franchise. Good God...dude's hitting .325 and it's not good enough...now they want homers too. Would you rather go back to hitting .220 and slapping a few homers every now and then? That's why I said in the 2 spot...
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 08:34 PM) I would like to see him more in an RBI spot of the line up. See how he would do batting 3rd, 5th, or 6th yes...i due time. It may be come to that point in another year or two...but I remember when he first came up people were talking about throwing him there...he just wasn't ready. Again...not sure what happened...probably just maturity...but the light has seemed to click on for him. He very well could be our future 2nd or 3rd hitter...moreso 2nd IMO.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) Does it look to you like he's had a different crouched batting stance since his return? And he's kept the same stance? Beckham may be one of the rare position players I'd like to keep. I've noticed that too. Seems like that light just clicked "on" for Gordo. He may be place in the group with Sale to build around if he keeps this up...he just looks like a different person...demeanor-wise.
  13. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 01:05 PM) This kind of stuff always seems to happen when your team sucks. This...I wouldn't get too worked up about it. I rarely post anymore...but always check in. But what else is there to add? All I can tell you is I'm EXTREMELY excited about a complete fire sale, gutting, etc....as best we can...but most excited about a TOP 5 PICK next year!...FINALLY! Picking in the 17 range every year screams MEDIOCRE!!! Tell ya the truth J4L...I've noticed the bickering and b****slapping on every board I'm on. People just seem pissy anymore...
  14. Not that it matters...but I'm REEEEEEALLY am sick of this inter-league bulls***.
  15. The sun'll come out tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun Just thinkin' about tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow till there's none When I'm stuck with a day that's gray and lonely I just stick out my chin and grin and say The sun'll come out tomorrow So you got to hang on till tomorrow, came what may! Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow You're always a FIVE YEARS away
  16. Absolutely love it when Gordo goes the other way....
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 06:41 PM) What else is he going to say right now? Maybe he can hand out Participation Ribbons at ASB....
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) Hahn said today there is a fair amount of time to turn this thing around. http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery...on-state-of-Sox Oh goody....
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 06:31 PM) Ugly game pen will be in early tonight. f*** him...leave him out there.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) If we're talking to San Diego about a starting pitcher, just say f*** it and make it Peavy. There will be zero issues with it among anyone and the Padres might well pay a bit of a talent premium to get him back. This makes so much sense it's ridiculous. Another team I think maybe one other person mention is AZ. Not sure they're really sold on their bullpen. If you're relying on Putz's health and Heath Bell...well...Jesse Crain and or Thornton would look pretty nice. I still have a feeling the Dodgers make a run here soon too... Another part of me wouldn't piss on the Yankees if they were on fire. What would they honestly give up?.... I still think we should do what the Red Sox did as well...just purge salary as best as we can. To be honest...I'd be much more interested to watch the development of a young team that watch this ridiculous continuation.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 08:51 PM) Questionable pitch selection Crappy pitch from Reed that he hung....Flowers target was very low and away. But agree I'd of gone with the upstairs heater....
  22. I'm awful sick of the clappy person close to the booth...
  23. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 09:37 PM) Lazy 3rd period effort. Lazy 1st and 2nd periods. Some of the worst puck handling I've seen all year...
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 01:06 PM) Good some veterans on this team are way too comfortable. Been that way for 6+ years...
