James felt that a bad call was made. LOL

If Dwyane wants to play post defense, you need to take it to him until he gets in foul trouble.

Tom Scocca @tomscocca 24s Miami's team photo is going to be a composite poster of every single Heat player swatting Tiago Splitter's shot.

Would be nice to see Timmy get some touches

I refuse to believe that Splitter has been cleanly blocked this many times

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 04:12 PM) I have like literally everything else, including (but not limited to): Chapstick Ibuprofen Acetaphetamine Eyedrops Saline for nose Saline for eyes Allergy medicine FACE LOTION so why I do not have deodorant is stupid. I find it so incredibly appropriate that you wrote FACE LOTION in all caps. That would be how I would have read it anyway, because it is hilarious that you thought of FACE LOTION but not deodorant

There is reason to believe that this was leaked to publicly shame because they don't have a case. On the other hand, I truly don't mind if they bust them all. Some people think that this is unfair or overblown, but I don't. So long as some people get this opportunity to dope and others don't, it's bulls***. It's not like saying that one guy has a better trainer or workout program or whatever else, this is expecting players to break the law to catch up to the dopers. Not okay with me. I tend to think the legalization and restriction of steroids could help to kill the illegal market, but the anti-steroid PR campaign will make that impossible. You could have doctors supervise use, not unlike someone seeing a plastic surgeon or something for superfluous medical procedures. You can still get testosterone replacement therapy, but those aren't as powerful as illegal steroids and I doubt the MLB allows for that anyway.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 12:39 PM) Not sure how this compares to college so I'll ask...how many innings might a guy coming out of high school be expected to have on his arm come draft time? If he's thrown a decent number of innings already this year, might they start him off in the bullpen at a higher level to give him the experience there? Well, he threw 98 IP in high school. That's not unheard of, but there will be other top HS arms that threw half that much. His season ran long due to postseason, but I'm guessing his arm was very recently abused. Wouldn't be the worst thing to pitch him in the bullpen for a little while, at least. Maybe not the entire short season.

I feel like the episode of South Park where every movie trailer I see looks like people s***ting out their mouths and saying "f*** you!"

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 01:20 PM) This run is just easier to enjoy for me. The last one my head was ready to explode. Hopefully they pull it off. Seeing Saad and Shaw making such an impact last night was so exciting. I love those guys. Such likable players, awesome to know that they should be around for quite a while.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) I think 2010 will forever be the most precious of the SC wins... waited forever and my dad had waited a lot longer and the joy he had seeing them finally win! I will always remember that. Jeremy Roenick crying got me:

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:58 AM) He said almost right away he was headed to Chicago this weekend to sign, and he already is tweeting about his assignment (which he said is the "A ball" team). If he means Kanny, that is a tough first assignment for a high schooler. Anyway, he's not a tough sign, I think he'll be easy. And I am still not sure what JVS meant by "in the fold", I asked him for clarification, didn't hear back. I don't think it means they have all signed yet, just that they are all either signed, agreed to terms, or about to. In the second round, I don't think he was ever going to be a tough sign. It seemed like pre-draft, he was considered a tough sign if he went in the 3rd or 4th rounds as he was often projected. I expect him to sign at or below slot, now. A ball will be a real challenge for him, I'm fairly surprised at that. I hope he kills it down there.

In a way, I feel more entitled, so to speak, to a SC than I did in 2010. In 2010, it was just unbelievable. We might have given lip service to that group being a possible SC winner, but it didn't feel real until it actually happened. Now that I know this core can win Stanley Cups, I feel like I borderline demand it, or expect it. It's a little like the Sox and the WS - 2005 was so magical (I know, the BHawks have a bit better SC pedigree than the modern day Sox) and while another WS would be so amazing, it would be a different feeling because winning WS became a new expectation of this franchise...this would have been a better analogy in a season like 2006, where it looked like we really had another WS winner on our hands. This season has been extremely enjoyable, I mean...the streak, that was fantastic. This SC playoffs has been insanely enjoyable and the SCF looks to be on a similar pace...but I don't know if I'll have such a visceral, emotional feeling like last time. ...maybe I will

The biggest group of people affected by the XBOX needing internet thing are college students. There are a lot of campuses that block connections by XBOXes to save bandwidth. You can usually get around it by bridging, but hardly anybody bothers with that and if you have a Mac computer it's ten times more difficult.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) Danish also saying he hasn't agreed to terms yet, but he could by this weekend. Upon learning his personal story, I was surprised he was originally labeled a tough sign. Apparently single mom has stretched to support him, you'd think he would want to get her off the hook ASAP -- of course, by all indications he will be doing just that shortly.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) Which, by my count, is the ONLY benefit from the pitcher hitting. Indeed. I'd be happy to part with that benefit to get the DH in the NL

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) I don't think you can play it both ways here...you can't criticize the big time players in the market for trying to capitalize on any market information they can get, and yet, claim you are having some huge advantage taken from you when you don't even have the means to gain from an advantage in the first place. That's like saying "these professional baseball players are able to buy the best equipment...if I could buy that equipment, I would be able to be as good as them too." It's just like we were talking about with Apple and taxes. While we shan't be angry about each individual taking advantage of the system, we can justifiably be upset with a system that systematically disadvantages the disadvantaged and aids those who need no aid.

Jim Callis @jimcallisBA 7s Not true yet. @jlongrc: local reports #WhiteSox have all top 10 picks in fold. Heard this? MItchell, Michalczewski would be coup #mlbdraft

Yeah, I have no problem hitting the opposing pitcher. That's the one benefit of the NL, that pitchers might have to deal with the consequences of their hit batsmen.

QUOTE (Cknolls @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 09:02 AM) And nothing is stopping you from paying Reuters for that info. Again what was illegal here?

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) I'm emotionally and physically exhausted. 7 hours of SRO and it was so worth it. What a game to be at. If Horton's injury is serious, huge blow for the rest of the series. Wow. Incredibly jealous. I bet that was amazing.
