    QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) Finished 1-5 with a 2b and 4K. I laughed out loud when I saw that stat line
  2. Wouldn't shock me if Cooper is our next manager
  3. How was nobody as amused as me at Hawk reading the at sign?
  4. AT SIGN ARKANSAS BRETT
  5. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:06 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/chicago-white...utm_source=t.co Just came across this article on Yahoo and low-and-behold, one of SoxTalk's own wrote it. Nice work, Jake. Ha -- that's right! I think we're on more or less the same page, as far as likely targets goes. I was a bit strapped for word length because of course the potential players are endless. I really think we're going with a college pitcher, but you can't be surprised if he takes a guy like Wilson from Stanford. I was fairly surprised that we took Hawkins last year, but of course it was also not surprising. I personally really liked Marcus Stroman.
  6. I didn't think I'd say this a few weeks ago...but soon, we're going to have to find a way to get Keppinger at bats. He's arguably our hottest hitter right now. How are we going to do that?
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) I feel like De Aza is the one that would be on the bench. But I think it was obvious Rios needed a break. Rios is definitely a guy with questionable effort, or at least has been in the past. Keppinger is hard to read either way. I'm sure it's stuff that goes on behind the scenes that would determine how the staff thinks guys work. Could just be rest for these guys, though.
  8. Hahn talked about holding some players accountable for lack of effort on the radio today -- related?
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 01:32 AM) I'd normally agree, because I hate Boston fans in every sport, but I really do fear the Pens. Boston doesn't scare me for whatever reason. Yes, in hockey terms this is true.
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 08:10 PM) And what has that gotten them? I don't give a s*** what it has gotten the White Sox. It has gotten me far more enjoyment than I would have had as a Royals fan.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 12:26 AM) BOSTON STRONG!!! don't even get me started...
  12. I'm rooting for the Pens. I freaking hate Bostonians, some of the most arrogant fans in sports.
  13. More of a dominant win than the score tells you
  14. The White Sox have been a far better team to be a fan of than KC over those past 8 seasons and it looks like a neutral proposition for this season
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 07:09 PM) Yes, but it seems like tonight isn't just a normal night off due to him just missing a game. injury?
  16. Hector pitch types by year, notice the drop in screwballs (SF) from the year he was a starter to the year he was a reliever -- he then adds some cutters and a ton of changeups
  17. Santiago, career
  18. This is just what they asked for when they did this. This is why it's dumb to take out a good starter and make him a reliever. I know DA has been fine, but both of them need to be starting somewhere
  19. Some tough breaks, but HSINARP
  20. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) Brandon McCarthy as well, spot starter to MR to long man to proven workhorse in the Texas rotation proven workhorse* *never healthy for entire season in career
  21. I'll go ahead and acknowledge what a good job Dunn did on that DP, a lot of 1B could have let that ball go for fear of the runner
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:34 PM) Chris Sale Dayan had done quite a bit of movement too, levels and positions
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) Cause he had no feel for it coming out of the bullpen. Of course, that could just be a BS excuse he used. In his starts in 2011, he threw 30% screwballs (76 mph on average). Since, he has averaged 6% and 5% respectively. He has replaced it with the changeup that Hawk and Stone both think is his screwball but doesn't move. His changeup gets hit all the time.
  24. Game has changed.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:25 PM) Yep, and he said he doesn't have a feel for his offspeed stuff. Santiago has all but begged to be a starter. He has thrown practically no screwballs since he first went to the pen and he said it is because it takes him quite a while to get used to it -- he said on the radio that it was absolutely the move to the bullpen that got him to start throwing his changeup (low 80s) instead. Glad we took his best pitch away.
