Most ignored SoxTalk poster
QUOTE (Maxwell @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:04 AM) I wish I could ignore some of the mods and admin. I'd rather not read the exuded arrogance or observe them not following their own rules. s***'s about to get raw in here!

Channahon
Where I'm from, we consider Channahon "basically to Chicago," just as we say about Joliet, any suburb, etc. lol. Anyways, I know my dad lived there before I came along and if you're not learning enough about it I can give him a call for you.

Teahen on DL, McPherson recalled from AAA
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) We already have a starter doing that in LF I know he's been terrible, but we know that Juan Pierre can actually be pretty good defensively. We can't have a guy that is completely lost in a position that he has basically never played. You do have to put a little faith in the execs that they're aware of whether or not he is ready defensively.

The one unknown here is whether Dayan is playing outfield well below major league standard. We can't play him if he can't play defense.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
Pitched well but could certainly be argued that we won a game in which we were outplayed. Good teams get wins like this, glad we had one go our way. Happy to have another WGN broadcast that I can see here in Memphis.

Hawk and Wimpy Reunite
Yeah, it's really pretty easy to have a joke get really carried away and be a complete non-reflection of the teller's actual sentiments. I've definitely said things (and I'm pretty sure we probably all have) that if we were in the public eye and they got out, our reputations would probably be ruined. And we're not even sure what exactly was said, how it was said, etc.

The Creator of "Teen Mom" and "16 and pregnant"
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) Kids do weird s*** for attention. Including getting pregnant and even killing themselves. I won't argue that SOMEONE will have a kid because of that show. But it would be so few that I think the show helps discourage many more pregnancies than it would cause.

The Creator of "Teen Mom" and "16 and pregnant"
I think people just try to make the most of a negative situation. s***, I'm pregnant, might as well try and get paid then! Not, let's make a baby so there's an outside chance I'm the one teen pregnancy chosen for television!

The Creator of "Teen Mom" and "16 and pregnant"
Kids get pregnant because they're having unprotected sex. They're naming their kid Bentley because of TV.

You are KW/JR. You have the power
While I hold Pierre in higher regard than probably anyone else here, I think a quick fix is to call up Dayan and give him starts in LF. If an outsider looked at his MLB stats from last year and saw he still wasn't playing with us, they'd be shocked. He's been hot if you check his last 10 game stats in Charlotte. The only unknown is if his OF defense hasn't progressed enough to put him out there yet.

The Creator of "Teen Mom" and "16 and pregnant"
I'm not far removed from high school, and I'm talking about a small public one, and I really don't think there is hardly anyone that would get knocked up because of this show. I think the benefit far outweighs the cost.

AJ disliked by his teammates
When I chart pitches for my college team, we write the catcher's name at the top of the sheet. No matter what, the catcher has some role and at times the sole power in pitch selection. A pitcher with full license to shake is still influenced by what the catcher flashes down there.

AL Central not going according to plan
Wouldn't you rather your problem be that your proven stars aren't performing? The article says the Tigers are in a good position because Miggy, Verlander, and the boys are doing well. I'd rather be wishing for players to return to their normal star caliber than wishing for lower-tier guys to pick up the slack, since our wish comes to true more often than the latter.

Finals Week
Our exams start next week. A comparatively easy 7 page paper comparing Lincoln's and Madison's views on the shortcomings of American government due Friday for my American Political Thought class. A 10 page research paper comparing and establishing Annie Hall's influence on the romantic comedy and specifically embodied through (500) Days of Summer due Monday for my Film Analysis class. A final exam for my humanities class, The Search for Values in Light of Western History and Religion, on Tuesday. Final exam for my Modern Political Ideologies class also on Tuesday. Then home for two weeks before coming back to Memphis to begin my internship at WMC-TV 5 and helping our Math/CS/Sociology departments' summer research project, which I'll post about at a later time because it concerns MLB and may be newsmaking if things go as we hypothesize. Have to prepare for all of this while I'm giving 3+ hours per day to college baseball. This is why I wish I could play college sports some other time in my life. For instance, after college.

PT = Physical Therapist ATC = Certified Athletic Trainer I don't know exactly why the acronym doesn't match the description with ATC, they probably didn't want to be CATs.
