It's a shame attendance doesn't win ballgames. What an embarssing defeat. Does that Corey Patterson epitomize all things Chicago Cub or what? Five-tool player my ass. f***in' ay White Sox.

Love O'Hare. As for the others, both St. Lake and Denver had gourgeous airports. I've never really had any problems anywhere but Tampa.

If you live in the city, they have a free graffiti busters service that will come out and do the job. However, that still doesn't change the fact that we need to go out and "win one for the gipp...er...sidewalk!!!"

Yeeeeeeeeeeee-Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Beat those pink-shirt wearing, cell-phone yapping, mini-van driving, yuppie, drunken, mindless Cuddly Little Cubbies into the stone age. This is one team I fully endorse the forcing of s*** digestion. :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs

See thread in ATH. Halladay gets my vote.

Nothing doing. If you are going to make a move to improve this ballclub, do it right. Wait until the trade deadline and see who becomes available or who surfaces as the most coveted.

Which AL Pitcher Should Start The All-Star Game?

Doc Halladay gets my vote. -
I heard this on the post-game show last night: The 1984 Detroit Tigers came out of the gates in a very similar fashion, only to go on and win the World Series. I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

Look no further than our very own Shingo Takatsu to epitomize the current state of the modern bullpen. Although Shingo's case may be a bit different due to him being a foreign pitcher that was figured out after one year of smoke and mirrors, the underlying theme remains. In today's game, you simply do not have dominating bullpen arms year after year after year. Sure, there are guys out there like Gagne, Everyday Eddie, etc. but the days of dominating closers/pen arms are a thing of the past. To that end, I have adopted a interchangable, dispensable bullpen stance. Rather than award guys like Marte, who has had one dominating season and has been very average since, with hefty contracts, I propose guys like that be let go to try their hands elsewhere. Ride the hot hand--plain and simple. If Pollitte is untouchable, go with him, if Hermanson dominates the closer's role, use him, there is no use in trying to work guys out of funks (unless the game is a complete blowout) because the modern reliever is so wishy-washy. I have been dwelling on this one for awhile, but I present this idea to guys like Rex Hudler, Jim, Besty, etc. to see what your take on this is.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) I have PBR experience. Don't we all? /supressing laughs while folks are sleeping. EDIT: I just had to say, you literally had me spitting out water on the monitor. Don't know why, but that struck the ol' funny bone in a major way.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) who cares? bruce weber threw out the first pitch. much more important If I thought it was neat, does that make me the 19 year old exception? I, for one, thought it was pretty damn cool and my pops, a big fan, had an absolute ball with it.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) You've obviously had quite a few tonight. Damn, not to mention Jopon Garlamnd. No, no, no...all is well. I just haven't made it down to Taylor St. in awhile and was really impressed with the neighborhood and how bumping it is. Hawkeye's was a very clean and fun atmosphere, complete with its own parking lot down the street.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) it was worth ozzie pulling him just so we could give him the standing o Yeah, I suppose--that, and we need to get Marte out of his current funk (tonight was as good a game as any). We were working our way to the car, but made sure to stop and give Jon the ovation he deserved. He simply shut them down tonight, you never once had the feeling they had a chance.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Jopon Garlamnd?? Glad they stop serving after the 7th. Ouch. Couldn't delete that one in time. Anywho, nice win, hoped to see Garland get the CG.

Ever been? It comes highly recommended--Great sandwiches, awesome atmosphere, hot waitresses. Stopped in before tonight's game and I have to say it was a very neat joint--across the street from Rosebud.
